ALEX HIGGINS - FLASH SHOTS (RE-UPLOAD)

  • Well, I uploaded this video around 3yrs ago, it reached 300,000+ views with 400+ comments until a little shitty ap called the John Virgo ap red flagged it and got it selfishly removed meaning no more viewing for youtubers, all comments and view count gone and a copyright strike for me,...just because I added 5mins of footage at the end showing Alex cleverly potting a Pink and a black ball 1-handed from a John Virgo dvd, quite a cruel thing to do when this video was bringing enjoyment to everyone.
Anyway, several months ago another youtuber STOLE that video before it was taken down and uploaded it himself without even having the decency of asking me or crediting me for the time putting it together along with editing time.
These facts resulted in me redoing this video with added shots that weren't in the previous upload just to prove this was indeed MY original upload whereas the other one is a fraud which was ripped from my channel, in the end I had no option but to get it forcefully removed by UA-cam as he made no attempt to explain himself.
So here we go again, Alex Higgins Flash Shots re-upload, I hope you enjoy it.
Oh, I left the Virgo clip out this time as not going to give whoever it was the chance of striking my channel again.
    All the best Higgin's fans!!!!

Hello, many of you know my Labrador "Snoopy", last Wednesday (Aug' 2023) he severly tore his CCL which will require surgery, I've had to set up a GoFundMe page for him as the surgery bill is monstrous as he is not insured and I cannot allow him to remain Lame and in pain, if you'd like to help then please follow this link, a video on there will explain what has happened, I'm exrememly gutted, he's my other kid and I love him to bits, do not feel obliged to donate but if you do then I would be extremely grateful.

He played fearlessly, regularly putting himself in situations that he shouldn't have but he knew he had the skill to pull it back with something extraordinary and that's what he loved, that buzz off the crowd, and that's why he will always be the best in my eyes, didn't have the world championships under his belt because he was emotional and volatile, but that's why he was the best, played with his heart on his sleeve, and as a result would regularly produce pure magic on the felt. True genius, best ever, the hurricane

@andrew carter alex was a better player than jimmy white. Alex was a better tactical player. Jimmy didnt have the bottle to see it through to win when it matterd, where as alex had the lot. You dont win much in this game without courage. To cut it short alex won all 3 majors but should have won much more. Jimmy didnt even do that. If jimmy played in 12 finals he still wouldnt have won the world title.

"I've seen it all now" - even Clive Everton who didn't care too much for Alex couldn't help but marvel. Thanks for re-uploading. One could say Jimmy and Ronnie are just as talented but I would disagree simply because they have great technique. Alex had none - snatching and moving all over the place while cueing. The point is for him they were not risks. He made "risky" shots all the time while all the others made the safest easiest shots possible. Because there was nobody to match him he played against himself, not against his opponents because they weren't even close to his abilities.
But he was a drunk, a womanizer and a spoiled brat. His life is a morality tale on how snooker and the criminal corrupt pool hall culture can destroy you and lead you into a life of drugs and sin.
Pool halls are no place for children or adults. They never have been and never will.

Snooker in his hey day was seen as a sedate game played by gentlemen, Alex did everything wrong he moved on the shot and cued erratically, but still won things and got bums on seats, as a kid he was my favourite player, now in my forties and having played the game myself I still try to emulate his style sadly, it's made a worse player of me. Only one Alex Higgins, rest in peace.

Higgins had that flamboyant, devil-may-care attitude that snooker today hates and tries to destroy wherever it sees it because it now likes robotic clones with no personality. Not only did he have that attitude but he also had the most amazing skills and understanding of the dynamics of the games itself that it allowed him to pull off shots no one else would even think of going for. As a result he was probably the most exciting snooker player ever seen at the table. Jimmy White could have been the number two but snookers officials stamped all of the character out of him and killed his natural game in the process.

In the name of justice,, ,,you appear to miss the point,,in fact you do miss the point ,Lennon was talented as was Higgins,,so they shared common ground there,if you want to bring personalities in to it Higgins was a rough diamond, but that's not the issue .

      +Hello goodbye
No. I did not miss the point I simply chose to make a different one. Talent is talent. Anyone who has talent is the same as anyone else who has talent therefore there is nothing to discuss but the degree of talent. I had no desire to go there.
My original comment was a critique of the way snooker authorities misuse their power to crush genius by forcing it into a TV acceptable mould of their own making. It was you that ignored that point and went off into a whole 'arrival' thing.

its hard to believe as well that this was a man playing to earn a living? but he prefferd to entertain the crowd. how can some one not like a man like that. This was when players just played only for themselfs, the crowd didnt matter. And alex still won 5 majors and 2 were the world title. Alex had the skill to be the greatest player ever, he had everything in his game, when on form he made a 140 break make so easy and fast, just the way he was nudging out a red at a time from the pack off the black was a pure joy to watch. And i thought it doesnt look that hard its all strait forward? My father said "no its not he just makes it look easy, you have to think 3 shots ahead and know how much stun, screw back, and side and weight to put on the cue ball" a think he ended up on a yellow that was on the side cushion and went for it instead of the black and potted it just to get it on its spot and what a shot it was. I thot why not the black alex and try for the 147. But that was alex? He looked at that shot hard and thought he could miss the yellow at the last 6 or pot it and not be on the green? And that meant he would get a 120 break? He was a very clever guy at working the game out and counting the sums, and steve davis and thorburn said he was the best safety player in the game. But would we all admire him if he didnt entertain? A dont think so. A wouldnt want that. Sports all about entertainment not about how many trophys or how much cash you have. And alex was the only player i would pay to watch in the 1970s and 80s. Ronnie the rocket loved him plus jimmy white, enough said.
