Mark Martin said his steering just locked up, but the steering was later checked and nothing could be found wrong with it that would have caused it to lock up. Many blame this on the Talladega curse.
Man these commercials bring back soooo many memories! I remember watching many of the 2002 races at the campground my grandmother camped at for the summer. I was 12 at the time. Good time to be alive for sure.
Was thinking the same thing. With the new stage race format, it's pretty much eliminated any chances of it ever happening again(no matter how slim they may have been).
Yup! I was at Michigan '99 for a caution free event in which Dale Jarrett won. It was actually very very boring tho. The field was so strung out the whole race, it was hard to even keep track of who was leading as u cldnt hear announcer & this was b4 cellphones & huge TV screens at track. Just a tiny number pylon which I cldnt even see. I Do Not like current format but that race was terrible!
Las Vegas today is the first race since this talladega race to go without an on track incident. Not counting stages there was not a caution for a car in trouble today.

1 Donald trump didn’t do anything wrong it’s more of the democrats doing the wrong doing and 2 yeah I remember these commercials when I was a kid nostalgia
Why did we lose Benny Parsons when we did? He was one of the best commentators in the business. B.P. was big, literally and on screen. Someone please bring him back.
ahhhh yes, the old asphalt :) the old cars :) the old exhaust sound :) the old broadcast team :) and the good ol' classic restrictor plate racing :) Were lucky if we can finish a race under green nowadays, even with the help of three GWC's, these guys did a 188 lap run to the finish without a hitch. It's amazing how things have changed in the last ten years.
Dammit, I have invested like two hours of my life already watching this race and Jeff goes behind the wall. Just a reminder of the things that never change.
Definetly for the better. 4 wide racing. 4 wide finishes. bigger crashes and the racers aren't getting hurt because of the safety is so good. I think the racing is much better now.
This was NOT the one race that did JG in, but it did SEVERELY affect his chances. He had the best car in this race, along with Michael Waltrip. Had the engine not failed, he probably would have won the race or at least gotten a top 5. Jeff truly lost the title at Bristol in the spring, Sonoma, Richmond in the fall and Martinsville in the fall. It's a shame, because he ran well enough all year to repeat as champ.
I remember the days when they went from spread out single file draft packs to 3 and 4 wide 2 second packs, and then NASCAR tried to spread them back out by using the 2 inch roof bar, which stacked them up even more and slowed them down, and then in this race they restricted the gas tank to spread them out, and it didn't help, the only reason NASCAR isn't as good today is because of the COT, I absolutely love the attempts at a green finish and the "boys have at it", which we didn't have then.
If it hadn't rained at Auto Club in 2012 that could've possibly turned out to be a caution-free race. (The only caution in the race was called for rain and the race ended up being rained out.)
I don't know about that, this year has set a new record for the fewest cautions all year, the California race was caution free (with the exception of rain), Cocacola 600 was caution free, Talladega would have went 146 laps caution free if Reagan Smith had not have blown his engine, which after Bristol heated things up we might see a lot more wrecks at the years end.
Even if manufacturer representation returns next year, it will never be te same. That's progress, but progress sometimes dictates things that we don't like.
So unusual that there was not one caution at the track where everyone expects the big one to happen. The pace car drivers just sat there doing nothing.
Even Brian France wanted to bring in new markets and do things his way, even if it meant taking away races from Darlington and Rockingham. Even I wish they could bring back Rockingham.
lol looks like we have 2 conversations going, but the problem with that race '09 fall dega was the stupid rules package. I wouldnt believe myself saying a race with 2 cars fliping was boring, but that wasnt a good race.
What rotten luck for Jimmie. He starts on the pole, before the race starts, he gets hit by Mark Martin, ends up going a lap down and never gets his lap back due to not one caution coming out and then his engine goes out.
I remember being at this race. I was so pumped to see my driver #6. Then J.J. ran into him and Mark didn't have a chance. Still a fun (but hot) race to go to. I was in 9th grade. I'm getting old.
1:15:50. Gertrude Schmidt, that's my Grandma. She passed away a month ago, and I'll always remember this day. Thanks much for the upload.
Mark Martin said his steering just locked up, but the steering was later checked and nothing could be found wrong with it that would have caused it to lock up. Many blame this on the Talladega curse.
Shit happens oh fuckin well

Heres to the last Caution Free race in the history of NASCAR

Technically the 2012 auto club 400 was sort of caution free. They were green from lap 1 to 125 when it rained and the race was over.
@@sandiegotrafficlightstrain354 who said it never rains in so cal
The commercials were so good.

Terrible day for Hendrick.
Yes it iwas. The 36 and the 10 cars of Mb2 motorsports ran Hendrick engines in their cars.
36 and 10 Pontiacs were all powered by Hendrick
Yeah because they were under contract
It was that damn Golden Benny!
These races back then kicked so much ass more ass than today's NASCAR races
Whenever the draft is more important than handling the racing is awesome no matter what the era.
agreed better than todays garbage
Yepp today's nascar is fuckin shit
anyone laughing their asses off at the old commercials?
Voltage ZX it's amazing how different the commercials are nowadays. Fuck man time flies by so quick
your mom is a commercial
@@TheMeshort what
Talladega's the only track that can go caution-free and still be an exciting race, in my opinion.
Can I 5f
My aunt was at this race. Those Dodge commercials are like nostalgia to me.
Thanks for leaving the commercials in it I love it!
its hard to believe this is 14 years ago
17 yrs now
@@lawlor2925 18 years now. Fucking 2020
Oh lord Jesus, is that Donald Trump in that McDonald's commercial?!
And LMAO at the Jeremy Mayfield Mountain Dew commercial.
1 Donald trump didn’t do anything wrong it’s more of the democrats doing the wrong doing and 2 yeah I remember these commercials when I was a kid nostalgia
we'll never see a caution free race again
Of course the first race I ever went to was caution free at Talladega and still holds that record today XD
Thanks for the race to watch at the local bars
man that crowd came to the right race! i wish nascar was like this today just like 10 years ago.
Why did we lose Benny Parsons when we did? He was one of the best commentators in the business. B.P. was big, literally and on screen. Someone please bring him back.
He died of cancer
that coors commercial was a weak attempt at recreating that "this buds for you" commercial
first race I attended thanks for uploading

Nascar Thunder 2003. Still the best Nascar game ever.
@WreckEmUp1 I'm with you on that man just got it for Playstation 2. Great game!

MAN I MISS DES DAYS!!!!! OF NASCAR
Heres something odd about this race,, as of 10/26/15, this is the last Winston/Sprint cup series race to go caution free.
+Michael Trahan as long as France orders debris cautions this will forever remain
This was also the first race I ever went to.
You win the prize +Anthony Kernich
the racings is a little better with the gen 6, but nothing beats the sound of those engines
Real manufacturer engines..... Wonder if today they're all custom machined pieces instead of old school cast numbers..?
I can't believe some of these commercials are 15 years old. I remember a lot of them. Times go too fast, man.
The Spring race was one of the best, with Edwards ending up in the fence, anyways Good night or wherever u are lol ill reply tomorrow
Wow, this race was pretty good. Besides the final laps, great plate racing to this weird race

Definetly for the better. 4 wide racing. 4 wide finishes. bigger crashes and the racers aren't getting hurt because of the safety is so good. I think the racing is much better now.
Some talent in the field
why not post race?
Oh shoot, I remember them mentioning this race recently where all of the Hendrick engines blew in one race!
at 5:00 thats a GM special rim package on the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Silverado, I don't know if thats how it was back then.

Very likely the last caution-free race we'll ever see in NASCAR.
Is the Todd Bodine save the greatest forgotten save ever??
Probably. Still haven't seen that one in a save compilation.
yeah, how did that work out this year?
Is that Mr. President in a commercial?
No that's Donald Trump. There was no president in that commerical. Yes I know what I said.
yes it was. I did not know he was friends with Grimis
Caution Free Talladega is beautiful
Like the original commercials included!
43:44 BP sounded annoyed after Bestwick asked what was all that yelling about 😂😂
Isn't this the race that went caution-free and where all of the Hendrick Powered cars blew up before lap 150?
Oh gosh, you know you really miss nascar during these days, when even the commercials bring you back and you have good memories!!...lol Is that bad?
But, I like blowovers, coolest type of crashes, and dont u play NR2003? ppl seem to do that alot on that game.
I remember a lot of these commercals back then when I was a little kid.
Why does everyone hate on the races these days.. I loved them then and I love them now.. When your at the race the engines still sound mean as hell
I remember the days when they went from spread out single file draft packs to 3 and 4 wide 2 second packs, and then NASCAR tried to spread them back out by using the 2 inch roof bar, which stacked them up even more and slowed them down, and then in this race they restricted the gas tank to spread them out, and it didn't help, the only reason NASCAR isn't as good today is because of the COT, I absolutely love the attempts at a green finish and the "boys have at it", which we didn't have then.
nascar thunder mastered that game on ps2 lol
