The Saints being underrated & disrespected is probably a positive.
I’m a big Carr defender, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have weaknesses or deserves critique, it just needs to be accurate criticism that matches reality.
One true critique of Carr is, he’s much better at dealing with adversity than success.
He’s very much a “chip on the shoulder” player.
I’d worry about Carr more if everyone is hyping him up.
My prediction, the Saints with their early tough schedule, Carr will go 4-2 or maybe even 5-1, I’d worry more about the next 6 games in the middle, when the schedule softens up.
If we start 5-1, we're one of the best teams in the league. Tough opponents in there.

That has been a legitimate Derek Carr critique, consistently beating the teams he’s “supposed to beat”.
He figured it out in 2016, which was why he went 12-3 on the season, only losing to the Chiefs twice & Falcons, who went to the Superbowl.

should look at the teams Carr knows best ( Broncos, Chargers, Raiders ), are the Saints better? I'd say the Raiders might be
tougher this year, but the other 2 should be wins imo. 5-1 division and W against Broncos/Chargers. Carr tends to whoop the
Cowboys too, I'd give that a W, which leaves Cle/Wash/NY/GB/KC/Philly/Rams. - Cle/NY should be W, the others are toss up.

If Carr hadn't gotten killed last season thanks to that shitty offensive line, they would have beaten the Packers in GB. Throw in Moreau's dropped TD pass and they would have easily made the playoffs. If they can fix that damn offensive line and keep Carr on the field, they're going to surprise a lot of ignorant folks
Mediocrity IS our biggest enemy right now. Trying to rebuild with a new coach next year and having mid round picks is going to greatly reduce our ability to rebuild quickly.

Hey Saints fan here and I work at the Dome. It is very boring when the Saints are playing at home. The vibe is dead in the Dome.
This year will be super fun to watch. My only concern is that we have a catch-22 coaching situation. If we're really good, someone is leaving. If we're really bad, we start over. My hope is that Mickey recognizes if he has a winner in Kubiak, and acts accordingly.
If we are REALLY good offensively, Kubiak could get a look at a bigger job no doubt.

James I hate to be the bearer of bad news buddy, but we ain’t winning 6 games if Carr goes down (this obviously depends somewhat on the timing of the injury- early season vs mid season vs late season).
We aren’t going to win a single game with any of our backup QBs… if Carr goes down early in the season we’re looking at a 3 win season. (and the Saints org knows that and is ok with it- this season they broke away from their strategy of having a competent, expensive QB2. The Saints org is telling us by their actions that they are conceding the season if Carr goes down)

It’s just interesting that the Saints have kept a high-quality backup QB on the roster in recent seasons- Bridgewater, Siemian, Winston, Dalton- in order to try and stay competitive if the starter went down. Like Bridgewater’s 5-0 record in 2019 saved the season.
The Saints have completely abandoned rostering a competent QB2 this year and I just thought it was interesting.
