Just want you to know I'm 69 year-old woman who tries to do the maintenance on her equipment. You have helped me through changing my oil and changing my blades.Thank You
This is SO helpful, thank you! I inherited my step-dad's Toro when he passed away in 2022. He was the one who would do all of the small engine repair and maintenance, so I am needing to learn all of these things on my own. I'm very grateful for what you're doing to help others!😊
Thanks for the simple demonstration with good pics. I want to replace the original belt on my 2015 MX-5050. I normally use a floor jack to put the front wheels up on reversed ramps for weekly deck scraping and the usual blade changes. Sure, I could have read the manual, but watching your demonstration was much more fun.
Thanks for the great video. I have a 11 yr old timecutter. Have had zero problems with it. Simple preventative maintenance once a year in early spring. Runs and cuts like new yet.
great vid! getting ready to take off the deck for first time to clean out all the coagulated gunk on the bottom and check out the belt. Its 6 years old now never had to replace belt. Also, NICE shirt. I have the same one!
Lol, just a technique. Be sure to have the deck height adjustment lever to the full down position before lifting the deck back into place. Have it raised fully up when sliding the deck out and back under.
@@DeanoOutDoors Gotcha! Thanks! Got it out and cleaned (never did figure out how I got it off the back supports) and I'll try to get it back together tomorrow. I mowed some of my wife's nylon rope and got it all out but then it threw the belt. Hope it's okay. Looks okay, no bent shafts or anything. Thanks again!
No problem, if you have the same model, the rear of the deck just lifts into place and two hook brackets sit on a shaft. It’s easier to attach the belt to the rear before attempting to attach the deck as well.
You made rehanging it look so easy! I always have to wrestle with those rear hangers. Get one the other pops off vice versa. Finally get both on only to find out the pulley belt slipped off the motor🤣
Thank you for your videos. Could you do a video on spark plugs and I have the same mower as in video so maybe you could tell me why mine backfires when starting.
Your welcome. I could add that video to my list. As far as the backfiring, there are several causes. I have included a link to a site that may help you better trouble www.gardentoolexpert.com/lawnmower-backfires-when-trying-to-start-the-causes-and-fixes/ hope this helps.
I actually had a torsion bar come out of the block. (Not engine) there is a torsion bar block that connects to the deck… do not ever, ever, step on you deck. Once you showed me how easy it was to get the deck off.. I had easy access to the torsion bar. I used a Stanley wrecking bar 5 Inchon the 45 degree. It was just enough to get the torsion bar back in the block hole. Thanks again. I’m an old guy. This was easy
Do you know if the TimeCutter® 60000 is the same as this model you are using? I'm trying to find videos specific for my model but you're the closest I have found.
Great video. Thanks- question on oil change. If you have an oil pump is there any reason you couldn’t drain from the top through the oil fill tube? That way you avoid that dreaded plastic nut valve at the oil drain port? I have a Toro 5025. Thanks
I would recommend draining from the bottom, just to be sure that all the contaminants are removed. The newer Toro's use a tool free quick drain like in this video: ua-cam.com/video/8ddgmhE8h8E/v-deo.html
Can you do a video on how to grease the front wheels. Above where the zerk fittings with the silver cap. Also interested on how to change the hydraulic fluid on the time cutter. Thank you
For side to side, there is a silver bracket on the left side of the mower that attaches to the hook. There will be a rod with a locking pin that can slide back and forth and a bolt facing the outside of the mower deck. Loosen that bolt slightly, then on the rear of that bracket at the bottom, there’s going to be a longer threaded bolt, usually a 1/2” deep well socket will fit this. Turn that bolt either clockwise or counter to adjust the height left to right. For front to back, adjust the bolts at the front of the deck. Hope this makes sense, would be easier with pictures. I will get a video out on this procedure in the near future.
If possible could you tell me the width of this model believe it or not I contacted Toro and they could not tell me and it’s not in the owners manual 😮
@@DeanoOutDoors Thanks very much! You’ve really helped me out so much these dimensions for this model don’t exist anywhere. It’s crazy to think even Toro couldn’t tell 🤔
@@DeanoOutDoors my 2021 42 inch timecutter has tube tires in the front that are slick. Starting to look for replacements. Because I know I'm due for a flat.
Yep, there are zero grease fittings on this deck. What i like to do periodically is spray a good penetrating lube onto the spindles. Be sure not to get any on the belt. I should had stated this in the video.
Great video but I urge everyone to first lower the deck and then release the belt tensioner spring on that pulley that keeps the belt tight. Otherwise it will be working against you through the entire process, especially at the end when you killing yourself trying to connect that front rod with the cotter pin. Your welcome. 😊
Thanks for the video went easy for a 67 year old guy. I appreciated the money you saved me. Good luck to you.
That’s great to hear! Thanks.

Thank you, that’s so nice to hear that my videos are helping others.
This video is more clear and easy to follow than the toro factory video, much appreciated!!!
Thanks, I’m glad it could help!
As a new owner of this model, this was very helpful, thank you.
Your welcome, glad it was helpful!👍🏼

I'm glad you found the video helpful, it's always more fun to watch than read a manual!
Great video and very accurate! Took the deck off and did the maintenance, cleaning and blade sharpening. Video was spot on.
That’s great to hear!
Thank you for this great video. I have a smaller time cutter mower and you made it look so easy, I’m going to try this. 😎

Thank you! 6 years on a belt is pretty good. Ha, gotta love the shirt, got one for my boy too.
The part where you connect the mower back to the body is magic. Must be some kind of prayer involved.

😂I had my share of troubles reinstalling, especially the belt coming off. Takes a little technique and trials, then it gets easier.
Thank you for a great and very informative video.

It’s similar. A lot depends on your engine and deck, mine is stamp deck. I have the Toro engine. If your specs are the same then we should be close.

When are you planning on posting the conclusion of your lawn makeover? I'm looking forward to it.
I will have the preview of the lawn renovation results next Thursday. It's exciting, so be sure to check back then!

I’ll see what I can do. It’ll be a few months as we’re in the middle of winter here.
Thank U for the video! I subbed andcapprecuate your help!
I'm glad I could help. Thank you for the sub!
Thanks. I just bought a used SS5000 and no user manual was included.

WHAT IS THE BOLT THAT HANGS DOWN WHEN YOU LIFT THE SEAT. ITS A MYSTERY.
It is mystery, I do not even see it on my mower.

Everybody better listen real close this guy smart
I have a total time cutter SS4225 I was wondering how do I level the deck it's not level.

Outside rear wheels measure 46”. Left edge of deck to right edge of chute measures 63”. Outside to outside front wheels measure 44”.
@@DeanoOutDoors Thanks so much very helpful! Do you know the width with the chute up? My trailer is 56” wide just need to make sure it will fit.
With the chute up, it measures 53.5”.

Did you replace the front tires?
No, those are still factory original.
@@DeanoOutDoors tube?
No tubes that I know of, unless they were installed factory. Why?
@@DeanoOutDoors my 2021 42 inch timecutter has tube tires in the front that are slick. Starting to look for replacements. Because I know I'm due for a flat.
Ah, got ya. I haven’t had to replace mine yet. Hopefully they hold up a few more years.
Wait, i didn't see him grease any fittings! Where are they at??
Yep, there are zero grease fittings on this deck. What i like to do periodically is spray a good penetrating lube onto the spindles. Be sure not to get any on the belt. I should had stated this in the video.
👍👍
Final step isn’t that easy on mine. Doesn’t seem to line. I wish you would have shown how to get it to line up
Hmm, that’s strange. Mine lines up real nice. I was thinking about doing an updated video on how to install the deck. It’s on my list of to do.
Great video but I urge everyone to first lower the deck and then release the belt tensioner spring on that pulley that keeps the belt tight. Following these steps and my deck just doesn’t want to come off those hooks. No matter what I do, it won’t budge
On my model, they just hang over the bar in back. Do you have everything else disconnected?
