- Hey you, thanks for taking an interest in my video!
Today I grab you, my FPV Drone & my bike as I set off to a cool little spot to fly. Im really trying to push my boundaries when it comes to FPV flying, as im a noob. Probably about 1 hour of flight time so far... So bare with me... anyways, hope you enjoy this little vlog and I'll make another very soon :)
Thanks for watching & subscribe for more daily vids!

you know what man, No one ever talks about how landing is so crazy difficult at the start because in a Sim you don't actually land you just reset it, hovering is also very difficult
Exactly! I was thinking about that, there's no "landing drills" if you wanna call it that.. for sims yet! It's almost disregarded lol. I think I Have been figuring it out better though.... i was disarming way too late lol
I agree. I'm not an expert. Hovering is difficult because of the camera angle i guess. I practiced hovering with tinywhopps in the game "Liftoff" an nearly 0 degrees camera angle.Landing just quickly press disarm close above the ground like in the sim 😂
Helps to get it properly calibrated for hovering
I literally practiced for a week for like 3 hours a day just lifting off and hovering for like 5 seconds and landing until it was second nature with or without goggles
@@brandonbrodbeck6688 oh interesting, ive never thought to do it without goggles... could be a fun experiment 😂😂
That "wobble" is called prop-wash. It happens when the quad enters it's own turbulence, like when doing a split S, or a sharp turn into turbulent air. It can be fixed with a little bit of tuning, there's heaps of guides, or you can play around with some of the presets in betaflight.
Awesome, thank you so much for this info! Changing my motors today so will be needing to tune (it will be my first time)
I can totally relate man! I used to crash just landing. That’s where I’d get most of my damage. I like to come in and pull back on the pitch just a little bit and that allows me to slow down just enough to be able to control that landing, there are a lot of resources on throttle control that were a big help to keep flying. New sub!
Thank you for subbing! Super excited to share my journey with ya. Also, thanks for the pointers. I find it hard (personally) to pull pitch back without going absolutely bonkers lol. Need more stick time for sure....
Keep it coming!!!
nice vid man, as for better landings, i found that flying low and slow as well as just hovering sometimes helped a lot. like really just focus on flying smoothly and slowly at a low altitute (like 3 feet or less). this really helped me and also made landing much easier as i can just hover a few inches off the ground then disarm. also, lowering your camera angle down slightly will make it easer to do this too
Thank you TyeBoi, I appreciate the good pointers 💯
Awesome 👌
Thank you Josh! And I've never tried the Avata. I was on the fence with getting the Avata 2 or this Nazgul from iFlight. The flight restrictions with the Avata is what sold me on the Nazgul.
Nice video bro! Keep it coming
love thiss, the footage is so pretty!
That wobble is called prop wash. You need to PID tune your quad.
Thank you, John! I appreciate your input
That last landing was perfect, though!
Thank you! Landing on concrete is tough!
@@chasemomo I take off from concrete but I always land on grass ;-) ua-cam.com/video/tOzdXNfNzKU/v-deo.html
@@chasemomo I always aim for the grass ! ;-) ua-cam.com/video/tOzdXNfNzKU/v-deo.html
You made me anxious😂😂
Lol! That's how I felt in the moment as well 😂
this is the most under rated channel love the vids
Broo even I've just started with this as a hobby..... Shivering and sweating are real problem when u just have started the fly in real life. That's okay just keep practicing in real life more than the simulator within the next 3-4 flight u will be better in controlling and landing this thing. All the best 💯🍻
Keep it coming dude. you got lots of potential coming up. Have you ever tried the DJI Avata? You will love it .
This content quality is Sick!!! Love this. Subscribed!
Thank you so much! More to come :)
Main tip of advise is make sure your shutter speed is double your frame rate and use an ND filter to cancel out the increase in light. Its what gives fpv footage the smooth look and clean motion blur. Great vid though!
Cool.Thank You
Nice video dude and great flying!😁 flying tree proximity sharpens the skills loads.
Good to know, scouting my next location soon.. will be sure to do more trees. thanks for watching!
Don't take off so close to yourself.
For two reasons, first your going to blow sand into your controller. Second, if you change props and mess up, the drone may flip into you, cut you up, and prevent you from disarming because you're too busy bleeding all over the place & freaking out.
Second, set a pre-arm switch before you slice yourself up. Sooner than later.
Other than that, just enjoy the hobby. It gets easier.
First class advice here, thank you hattrick. Pre-arm sounds cool.. never heard of that & going to look into it! Thank you!
I feel ur pain bro!! Florida is super humid 👻💨
Dronie 😂 my daughter calls all my drones that
Trying landing in the dark with 80% water around u....just did that in my 4th of July video
My suggestion is pitch back a little when ur coming in and cut the motors like 6 to 8 inches over the grass
Slow is pro 🫡😎👻💨
Thank you sir, I appreciate your effort & input! Just watched your firework video, looks bad*ss!!!! Cheers
@chasemomo ya man!! Gotta support the Florida peoples 😎👻💨
Well while I'm still here....probably moving to Minnesota soon ....done with this heat 😎
great flying man! you should get a silicone gopro protection , they are light , cheap and protect well the gopro from light/medium damages
Awesome recommendation, thank you!
disarm before you hit the ground than it doesnt flip out
the wobbling is from flying though air that the propellers distrubed
for example if you sink down in a spot or do sharp turns
its called propwash
If you have problems landing, just switch to angle mode or practice hovering. Sticktime is half the life in FPV. You will only get better through practice 😊🤟
Cool video just subed
Thank you! Happy to have you here
Cool Video👍
Thank you Linus!
You can try flying slow and controlled. Maybe put your camera angle a bit more down so you see where you going when you fly slower
Thanks for the advice! I actually noticed the other day that my tilt was really high... i think it moved up on its own. 100% plays a factor into why I couldn't land well this day... thanks for commenting!
@@chasemomo No problem you're welcome
Those "wobbles" are high pitch vibrations that the gyro is picking up. I usually get those when i delaminate an arm, or have a badly tuned quad.
Great Video!
Thank you for taking your time to explain this! 🙌
I think the land was 10/10 lol
hahahah right. depends on how ya look at it 🤣
You're cranking that up too close to you.
Agreed! Thanks for looking out 💯
awesome video! i’m starting off just the same as you and know the feels! subscribing
Super cool! Let's grow together 👊
@@chasemomo hell yeah brother
If you only hbave 1 hour flying time and some on the sim and you are this good then you are obviously a natural pilot. I have been flying for a year and Im about as good.. hahaha I fly every day., I have probably over 100 total flying time hours under my bet and I still cant do a lof of stuff.
Wow, I'm a bit flattered, thanks John! I suppose so. I should make a fun little video about how whack my controls are... Pitch is inverted, YAW & Roll swapped. Lol.
Thanks for taking your time to comment
Best thing for landing is to get close to the ground and dissarm... the pid will freak out no matter how nicely you try to land.
@@greedfox7842 thank you for this advice!! It’s helped so much
The wobble is wake falling into your own air thrust. So to speak
pull more back when landing and land slowly thats my advice greate video tho 👍
Thank you very much, I appreciate your advice
I remember when I first started I just kinda just got close then dropped it in front of me wasn’t pretty then eventually you get better and hover it and landings get better, dude practice some hovering up high then bring it down
Some quality practice man! You'll get smoother with more practice. You might want to lower your rates and increase your expo just a tad in the meantime, though.
I have lowered my rates funny enough, but I have yet to mess with expo. I need to learn / try that out sooner rather than later. Thanks for the tips!
I often switch to Angelmode then fly in front of me. Point the camera away from you. Then take off the goggles and land the copter like a DJI drone…
Hmmmm, angle mode.. interesting. Ive never tried? what does it do?
@@chasemomo do you use Betaflight? Definitly set it up!
In angelmode, the copter stabilized itself. This means that if you do roll and then go of the sticks, the drone automatically goes into the stabilized position (hower position) back. In addition, the copter cannot completely roll over. I think it can turn up to a maximum of 60°...
hopefully it was understandable ;) otherwise there are all kinds of tourtorials on YT 👍😉
Yo bro
New sub here
Where in Florida do you live
Nice rip by the way bud 😀🤘🏻🤙🏻
I stay on the east coast near fort pierce!
@@chasemomo oh
Ok
Right on
I’m in riviera beach
Not to far from fort pierce I don’t think
Are you on Facebook?
Hover 1ft or so then disarm
Nice run for only an hour in the real world.
Thank you sir!
Gotta learn to land, how ya gonna perch?
Honestly, wish I knew what perching was... Im really noob lol
ii love your work brother. f the day come your looking for a videographer please let me know. i wanna work for you . btw i am from maldives. take care brother.
