You are not the only one that experienced burning with the lip plumper. Thrifty Tiffany another DT UA-camr I watch also had immediate burning after applying it on her lips while showing her DT haul to her viewers. I agree with you that the company is not going to do anything but thank you for keeping us informed. Love watching you!!!
I turned to Google to see if the lip plumper had any recalls or any other issues reported about it. I was amazed to see that all lip plumpers not just ioni's lip plumper carries warning about their use. It seems that most of the plumpers use cinnamon and cayenne peppers in them to cause the plumping action. People react differently to these additives. It says that you may experience burning, blisters, dry lips which cause you to keep licking your lips, anaphylaxis and more. While some people may consider these products safe because they use "natural" products in them, it sounds like the companies leave it to the consumer to see if they are willing to trade pain for beauty.
Of course ioni didn't want to say that to you or anyone else, but it shows how cautious we need to be with anything we put on or in or bodies. Unfortunately for ioni, their lack of informing the consumer better especially in your response letter, could prove to be a serious issue if they continue to lay blame solely on the consumer of the lip plumper.

There's a girl, 25yo, that smelled pepper (a strong type) and didnt knew she was allergic to it. She now in a vegetative state and wont recover from it.
Those things can be serious. May not happen to anyone but it can happen to someone.

Unfortunately Jenny, Ions response is not surprising to me. I bet some where on those boxes has a small disclosures- which doesn’t help consumer because they are too small to read.
I am not sure if there is somewhere else to report this issue that if someone else has reactions they will eventually pull it off the shelf. Maybe research that…..

At my DT I found calligraphy pens(fountain pens) near all the new journals! They work really well for being $1.25!

Went to our DT today. But same ole same ole Not much to be found. The store was so hot that I couldn't shop in there. I asked the cashier if she thought it was hot. She said I'm getting used to being hot. It's been in the 80s. What a shame to expect customers to shop there and employees to work like that. It's not an outdoor job. I left because we were melting down.
I saw the same lip product at my DT with the warning. I wouldn't return it either at 1.25 but I don't think they'll recall it either unless threatened with a bunch of lawsuits or such. It's hard for the little person to fight big business.

I will certainly stay away from the brand and again so sorry you had to go through the pain. Great to see the fur babies and Ruby seems content. I am so sorry for the pain from the product and the pain of DT's lack of concern. One would think that they cared more about the consumer than the 1.25 !!! The stores in NC have that same mindset, we are NOT allowed to return any products - regardless of the issues. Shame on DT.
Wow on the response from Ioni. You definitely have a legitimate complaint that needs to be addressed. Not only would i contact the mgr at the store you purchased from, but, like someone else mentioned, I contact the Attorney General and possibly the BBB. I'd make sure that my experience was told to anyone/everyone that might be able to assist in a better solution than what they offered. You are a popular influencer on UA-cam and a lot of us rely/respect what you share on your videos. At this rate they WILL have a lawsuit, there's no doubt and it could be prevented. I believe in Karma. So sorry for what you experienced and I truly hope they step up and do the right thing. Take care

Wow, This is how Ioni responds to you😮 So sorry that happened to you. I have allergic reactions to certain chemicals & food. Forward the email to Dollar Tree. Hi Jenni, sorry you had a bad reaction to a product you brought at Dollartree. I take caution with products I buy at Dollartree, because it has to be a reason it's sold there. I have also seen other UA-camrs get bad things there. Nice walkthrough ❤
Im so sorry you had to endure that pain Jenny...and at the least they should have sent you compensation for the pain their product caused you! A letter stating how very sorry for the pain it caused! And they will take it off the shelves so nobody else gets hurt! I now will not purchase any of their products! They clearly dont care about their customers! Very disappointing! Thanks for sharing all the new finds. I did see you last video when you tried the lip plumper. You were brave to try it. I think it is horrible what happened to you, with all the blisters. I do not like their response to you. I feel they could have done better. You could have had an allergic reaction, no doubt, but it seems like they blamed it on you or meds, or health conditions. I should absolutely have a warning on the packaging.
Oh wow I didn’t realize it gave you blisters! That’s crazy. Their reply was basically covering their butts so they don’t get sued. They won’t admit fault. They have been made aware at least. Sucks that people are so quick to sue that a company won’t even issue an apology.

I'm so glad I talked my daughter out of buying the lip plumper. It just didn't seem like a good idea. I'm sorry you had that experience and they tried to shift blame.
I'm allergic to so many things, including lavender, and eucalyptus..I've been in the hospital with anaphylaxis (throat swelling shut) due to something I ate I had developed an allergy to. New allergies keep popping up. That is a typical letter of reply. Please read the ingredients and talk to your doctor, and take the product with you. You had either a reaction or an allergy. Your doctor should be able to help figure it out for you. I'm sorry this happened to you.
You should write a letter to DT and let them know they are carrying a product that did such harm to you. A company that hears of a physical reaction such as yours should be cause for concern. That company will never get a dime of my money. Thanks Jenny and sorry you went through that.

I’m outraged that the company that makes that lip plumper had such a LAME and CALLOUS response to your horrendous experience with their product. Dollar Tree should most definitely pull that off their shelves and furthermore the product should be tested for what TOXIC ingredient(s) are used in it. Even well known, costly products have incidents where a product of theirs gets RECALLED because of incidents, like yours, and they discover some harmful ingredient somehow makes it’s way into the product. Last one I remember was a Sunscreen product of Neutrogena. You should contact an agency like the FDA. I am sooo sorry to hear you went through that horrible experience. That company did not take any responsibility for their product. I bought lip plumping lip gloss but different brand. My lips burned and swelled. You use other makeup products and obviously aren’t having these horrible reactions. Unfortunately, it’s going to send someone into anaphylactic shock before they make any changes. So sorry you experienced so a horrible experience. I don’t know how I missed the video but maybe I’m glad I did. Love your channel😊😊😊!

This is the most beautiful clean organize dollar tree store that l has seen over here in Florida is very ghetto dirty disorganized and boxes everywhere no room to walk around toys and items all over the place floor

Personally I would never ever use any kind of plumping lipstick or other product. I think that plumping is a grotesque practice and definitely looks out of any real proportion of any ones lips or butt. I really dont see the attraction with people wanting to look like cartoon characters. That being said I feel your pain no product should hurt a person. Unfortunately money is the bottom line in most corporate decisions. Im glad you voiced your experience and maybe if enough people share it with the company they will see they are going to get bad exposure. Im sure never going to buy it or recommend it to anyone. My elderly mother wanted a lipstick there once and she didnt know what the plumping really meant. She's very sensitive to many products and if I hadnt told her not to get that she could have been harmed by it. If things arent meant to be plumped i think we should leave it alone.

Honestly most likely your sensitive to something in the lip plumper and possibly dry lips. Your also not lick or eat lip plumpers. I have used this. I love it. It's also not the hottest. Ulta sells one that is worse. This one I love more than my current one. Sorry you experienced this but I don't feel it's the product. All my stores are having a hard time keeping it stocked. It's sought over crazy here in WI. I'm also 46 yrs old

That reply from DT was very unexceptional!!!! I cannot use the DT lip plumper either, it is a VERY HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!! Not a “medical issue either” It s A Dollar Tree crappy product!! I know several other people who have also had a bad reaction to not only the Dollar Tree’s lip plumper, also some of their eye make up products as well! I don’t buy anymore of the Dollar Trees make up products as well as several of my friends either. Best to buy better products that are reputable especially when it comes to your skin, eyes etc. Jenny, I just wanted you to know that your definitely not alone, the lip plumper needs to be in the dumpster!!!

Money is in the wrong you need to contact them find a phone number and verbally tell him what happened and ask him to do some thing about it for you for your pain like certificate for some other product it won’t burn the crap out of you.

Mine did too. It stayed that way for a few hours. No matter what I did the burning would not stop. I learned my lesson for sure. NEVER plump my lips.
They have some good ones that don't burn my favorite is from e.l.f cosmetics

I also watched another person I follow and while she was doing the video, she also said her lips was burning. Not sure how severe it got, but she noticed the burning sensation. I will definitely not purchase that
About the apology meh...very poor although I have only ever bought 1 lip plumper (not Ioni) not a fan so after ur experience would never buy the Ioni one. And as far as planning YES I am a paper planner girl all the way (I do use the phone but love the paper planners)
Ioni did list "chemical" as one of the causes and they are exactly right it's the chemicals THEY CHOSE to USE!!! They should, at the very least, tell you they are looking into reformulating their product and do it. Or they can do a voluntary recall. But of course that would mean they gave a care about their customers. Petsonally I would boycott all their products!
After that response, I would never purchase their products again!

I have watched others try that and it burned. That is terrible customer relations. I would ask for free products. Which I have many times. Not this company.

I think in my opinion ur just sensitive to certain things as it could be medications ur taking yes I know ur thinking it's not possible but I hauled this same item and it did warm on my lips but I did not have any issues and I've been using for several weeks now ...n my opinion sum items aren't for everyone and sum r sensitive to certain things even sumthing u may have never had issues with ...I think I would have made a video of ur "blisters u got that was not filmed after u did ur haul video" but clearly sum ingredients in it ur allergic too and u did not know but now u do !! Everyone is diff...sorry it happened to u ...but now u knw u have allergies to sumthg in that item specifically....I have seen other bloggers haul same item and test it on vlog and did not have any issues either...TBH ...keep up the great D.T vlogging....(I also hope they do not discontinue it I enjoy it & can afford it).....again sorry for ur experience w this product!!

Products made in China, check their TRACK RECORD, not good. Be very leary of FOOD, COSMETICS etc.
Did you take pictures of the blisters? If you did I would just call a lawyer. Obviously the company thought nothing of your pain so make them stand up and pay attention! If my child got in my makeup which little girls do and she had a reaction like you did they would sure be sent hospital bills and whatever for pain and suffering for trauma of a makeup product!! Sorry it’s so long but I’m pizzed for their indifference over this!!!!

You should return the lip product with a explanation and pictures if you have them on your phone.
If everyone did this the product would be pulled off the shelf. As it is the clerk that you tell about this may pass the warning on to people buying it.
Different people are allergic to different things. I'm allergic to aloe vera. I know right companies are putting this crap in all kinds of products. The only thing I can say now it has in big letters that a product contains aloe vera thinking it's a selling point. To some it is to me it's don't even touch the outside of the packaging. I no longer have to read thru 50 different bottles of lotion find one that I can use! If this stuff touches my skin I break out in little water blisters every where it touches. They are painful and itch.
If I scratch i get a major infection that won't heal until it is scrubbed out to get every molecules aloe vera off me.😢😢😢😢
I hate that all these companies jumped on the band wagon but glad it's a obvious babies being added to products.
