A nightmare start in Tanzania 🇹🇿

- Holidays are supposed to be fun and relaxing, but it was a nightmare start to my time in Tanzania.
I arrived in Dar es Salaam from Moroni, Comoros without my suitcase, clothes or toiletries because on my way to the Comorian capital, Egyptair didn’t put my clothes on my connecting flight and were ignoring the various emails and messages I had sent them - find out more about that on an earlier vlog, Comoros with no clothes (Airline lost my bag): • Comoros with no clothe...
My arrival was late at night, so I got some sleep and got up early ahead of a trip to the mall to shop for some supplies. However, I was struggling to get a taxi from my hotel to Dar es Salaam’s Mlimani Shopping City and I was starting to get fed up with the mounting problems, when all I wanted to do was explore Tanzania’s largest city.
So, watch as I struggle to get the very basics I needed to travel and see whether I eventually get to be a tourist in Dar es Salaam.

lets gooo, sunday is the best day for a new video
It is indeed!
I would advise Tom to use a local Sim card with a local phone number on the app for a better experience in Dar. I don't know why some Uber drivers cancel the trip after they see a foreign number. My friend had the same experience.
Ahhh, thanks for the advice. That must be why!
@@TravellingTom They dont like card payments
Most of the drivers here don’t speak English that well!! They cancel because they don’t want complications.
In Tanzania use bolt ,is better than uber
Thanks for the info!
Bruv, I am an experienced traveler who spent 3 months in Tanzania and I noticed a bunch of goofy mistakes. Never check a bag in with any airline, especially to destinations like Egypt or Tanzania with low budget airlines. Anytime you call an Uber in Tanzania the driver contacts you for cash because they don’t want to deal with banks or can’t for whatever reason because of fees and bureaucracy. This isn’t Liverpool where life is all dandy and everything works. All of those issues are basics and if you did research prior to you wouldn’t have been surprised.
Tom has travelled half the world solo and I'm sure he does his research each time and is well aware that things will be different from Liverpool and not 'dandy'. Give him a break, he's just lost 2 weeks worth of gear and getting zero response from Egypt Air is unacceptable.
Well baggage can go missing here. It's only happened one time, and it was just unfortunate timing with the frequency of Egyptair flights between Cairo and Moroni added to the fact that I was only in Comoros for four days. Not the end of the world.
Cheers, mate!
Enjoyed this one, nice vlog
Cheers, Ed!
Nice vlog bro. I love tanzania myself ❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks! Yeah, it's a great country!
Why would you need checked in baggage for a 2 week trip? Just a carry on backpack will always be enough. Never trust budget airlines with you bags. Live and learn lad.
Exactly
Because I cba washing my stuff every few days, and I'm not spending every day wearing the same gear unwashed when it's 28+ degrees and I'll be out walking thousands of steps.
Nah
so many hotties in the market omg
😂
Absolute stunners 😍
