People have Africa on their bucket list but it’s strange, does one not consider the people to be a big part of the beauty the land has to offer or are they the element that deter one from the experience? Imagine the experience of one of them travelling to the suburbs of a western nation. The place may be beautifully constructed and maintained but I wonder how many friendly conversations and gestures one would would encounter. The ppl represent the land, they deserve the same acknowledgment as the views of beaches and wildlife. A bit of an uncomfortable feeling Mogadishu on fear but no judgment. Just a perspective not an attack

Those not used to close public encounters might feel uncomfortable, but don't panic. 2. Learning a few Swahili greeting words goes a long way towards getting around. People appreciate a foreigner who took some time to learn their language. How hard is "Jambo!!" 3. At most times, as a foreigner, people in Dar will be trying to sell you something. At times, they can be quite aggressive. Don't worry, just politely decline and keep moving. 4. Last but not least, Dar is also known as BONGO land.
