I love that Josh is just leaning into this. "Oh you freaked out about the Bad Monkey? Well what if I just make sure you love about 57 different mass-produced overlooked easily-available budget-friendly drive pedals, do you think you can scalp all of them at once?"
keep in mind the bad monkey was mass produced like hamburgers lol
Haha, oh, and they will. Check out the used market now, people are delusional with asking prices, even on guitars.
Rookie players might begin to test cheap pedals.. and they should. Mojo is not exclusive only in gold horsies. I doubt that mass produced cheap pedals have special features.. i believe in finding great pedals made with discerning ears.
Its a shame that josh has all those pedals on his shelf that will never get used on a recording or a song. The sad truth is that most of those pedals will probably never get played. He should start a pedal rental or loan out so those pedals make music and not just be background.
@@the_end00101 he has some that are what collectors refer to as mint in the box, but if you listen to him talk about the pedals over the entire JHS show, the vast majority of the pedals he has are played, even though the museum has over 5000 now
Josh is slowly but surely making sure that the price for every pedal in existence not made by JHS is ridiculously inflated. Galaxy brain strategy.
Went to Reverb just to see what crazy stuff got put up, the Lumberjack one is listed for $1,000 with the phrase… “Josh Played it you HAVE TO HAVE IT”
That “Lumberjack” was 🔥🔥🔥
And now there are idiots that are trying to get $300-$500 for them. Some people, I tell you.
that's the kind of pedal that makes me wish it had expression out jacks so I could use other pedals to mess with the settings while playing through it.
Hey Josh, could you guys do a video on noise? The types of noise that electric guitar players encounter, guitar noise, amp noise, cable noise etc And what can be done to mitigate it and/or if we should even worry about it? Also could be interesting to talk about what pedal reviewers do to eliminate noise in recordings vs what pedals really might sound like and so on. It seems like a really important issue that all of us encounter to some degree and I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I agree with this. I have multiple high end pedals that I get a lot of noise through and I'm never really sure it it's the pedals, my guitar, the power cables or my luck.
I’m going to agree.
You have to add to this list…the noise that other band members make. 🤪
I can't recommend the BOSS NS-2 enough for me,as I used to just use a BOSS GE-7 as an overdrive, for my baby when it was a massively awed beauty, especially with the poor biasing of both the preamp 12ax7,and power stage EL34 tubes, rated as a 100watt amp iT certainly was only putting out about 60 watts, which was perfect the 50w 2204 sounds great for recording, but again is only 30 or so watts depending, plus it 100% Does NOT have the Bassier than some only 1 or 2 Bass Players I played with, the 100w 2203 has tons more Low End.
I had NO hassles with HISS(using this particular Marshall 2203 Master Volume JCM800 bought new in 1984) as to get a crazily close approximation of Edward Van Halen's coveted *Brown Sound*.
I had the Amp Treble at 0,completely Off,The Middle control nearly FULL UP : the secret with THIS and only THIS passively tone controlled actual amp, exact same models with everything else the same could be wildly different then.
Its Very likely these settings would NOT be good, they might, but every Marshall up to the intro of the JCM900 were, and could be markedly different sounding, exact same models, side by side : totally different - I thought this was cool,as some like mine just sounded wildly better-even if it kept blowing H.T. fuses with the original Sovtek valves (only for a short time) we call them, but most of you are US acclimated,so I mean Tubes, but NOT since 1990,all pretty much are very guaranteed similar tone for THAT model.
So the old buggas, old handmade Marshall Amps there are 4 (or 5 if you count the very rare Master Volume Combo mid to late 1970's Only) which still has the exact, yet updated, but the same schematic, same designated components of the old 4 input SPL 1959 Superleads,Superbass, and even the Marshall P.A. head-IMPORTANT Only all these very early(not super early, real Plexi's and JTM45's,PARK amps no,though the PARK amps are a mystery,as far as ever using one.
It IS the 1st 100w 3 amplifier models, exactly the same Transformers,Tubes as any model no. 2203 all eras as far as I know, it IS only these total 4 (5🤔?)Amps in total, any other model, absolutely ANY other Marshall Amplifier product has wildly differing components-sure the 50w 2204 head is similar, but ONLY x2 Power Tubes be they EL34(Australia always got these when new) or 6L6 and very similar, very, but I'm ONLY talking of *The x4 EL34/6L6 100w models*Not newer than 1990 ala the DSL,or back to The ancient 200w MAJOR no,same with ANY others.
There is one exception. The quite RARE 100w Master Volume x2 12" Combos with RED printing on The Gold Chassis iS THE SAME,just turned upside down, and housed in a 2x12" Combo Chassis-Love to have one of those,No Not the actual Brown Tolex Combos no Thanks.
So to continue(so sorry my posts are too long, and branch off onto quite relative to me but often NOT to OTHERS) translating deciphering: Again The Control Settings:Bass from 5 to 8,Presence:5 or-depending,as it controls around 4k to 10Khz,so that was usurped as my treble control, these settings ONLY worked with THAT amp,x1 BOSS GE-7 and 4x12 25w old 1970's Celestion greenback speakers(sometimes the most important link in a chain) it is with Peavey's Great but overly complex (I'm old I don't want active controls that actively ADD treble etc) JSX amp-a 3 channel 100w American type of EL34 Marshall, bought as my *baby* my poor Marshall had been ruined, but repairable eventually, but sadly my Amp Dr destroyed its tone,it's too stupid loud, has half, less than half the gain(with MESA High Gain 12ax7's),which would be great normally-whatever that means 🤔 as it always had RETAINED it's tone 100% through former re-tubing,and travelling to All cities of Australia except Darwin.
*THE POINT OF THIS POST NOISE SUPPRESSION*
The US made tough JSX needs English Speakers to sound correct,so as a band-aid approach with the old Marshall for a recording, not happy I had to use another clean guitar signal amplifier (what the GE-7 EQ accomplished incredibly well, with an absolute maximum of 15db extra signal to push the Marshalls dreamy preamp into wicked sustain,to(once the treble Pickup volume was at full-totally wild overtones of overtones of feedback),which if it blew my mind well. 🤔 So now with this sadly very too loud, way too clean amp,I was forced-to try to retain the amps natural sound of yore,I somewhat successfully used ALSO a Behringer EQ pedal in tandem.
I used to only need 10Db to push the preamp into sustain,it now needed a ridiculous 30Db,so buckets of Hiss, and this all happened from 2007,so the BOSS NS-2 worked very well, not cheap, the 2nd EQ was(all their guitar pedals work fine),but they are made entirely of PLASTIC,but again it worked as desired, but the NS-2 was paramount to lose absurd amount of noise,as with that brands designations, it's Noise Suppressor No.2 and more than likely has much newer(not always better),as is SO OFTEN the case with computer operating systems,so called apps - software upgrades.
*warning* "I Have A Theory" : 8 hour shifts everyday fiddling and trying hard to improve stuff sometimes has THE OPPOSITE EFFECT?🤔
Anyway the ubiquitous Roland BOSS NS-2 has the BONUS of *it's own send and return*,so a myriad of routing possibilities.
I recommend you to check a couple of vertex videos
You know Josh is feeling a jam when he frantically turns knobs and knocks over the pedal at the end......respect
Beautiful sonic mayhem! I love it!
i loved it sm it went crazy
It’s the pedal nerd version of smashing your guitar and setting your amp on fire.
Flipping that Delay and Lumberjack was the most rock and roll thing I've seen in years. 😂
The lumberjack is a LOGarithmic amplifier…get it? Lumberjack? Log? 😂 Awesome - that was my favorite. Thanks Josh.
Tubulator with a BatSim on duracell mode is actually amazing
I bought two Batsims. I am not sure whether they are better running in series or parallel, both sound great. I am going to mod one and put in a headphones jack.
@@kentl7228 make sure you use a Batsim to power it 😆
But it cost as much as 2 cups of coffee! Thanks Josh for ruining everything.
@@kentl7228 Just Stack it
Next week: 4 - Overrated Underdrives. 😁
Deverb Relays
Faser phlangers
😂
It could shake the guitar pedal market. Praise don’t criticize. No bo bo’s
@@JimRivers1179 I'm sure if JHS ever comes up with in "Underdrive Pedal" it will be amazing and probably pair well with my Unicorn pedal. 😉
I have the lumberjack and I love how you can create all sorts of unique tones with it. One of the things you can do is get a sound that sounds like clean and dirty together in parallel.
My first OD build was like that. It sounded like only part of the spectrum was distorting and the rest was coming through clean. So, it was thick and bassy with a resonant top end ring.
I probably still have it on a breadboard somewhere.
yeah I have one too, that's exactly it. Depending on how you play the distortion can ride underneath the clean tone and then you can just hit the strings harder and the distortion can get quieter or louder depending on how it's set. Wild shit, one of my secret weapons for a long time until today hahahaha.
Had a Lumberjack a few years ago, cost £35 New in UK, it worked well for my tone and was unique and sounded great stacked with other pedals, I really enjoyed using it until my pedalboard was stolen just over a year ago! I’ve been on the look out for another one since at a good price, until today I managed to buy another New one for £35 UK again, which is surprising as someone has a used one for sale in the US on Reverb for $200!!!! Cheeky bast**d!!! and as someone else said straight after the show someone listed one for $1000 cos it had been on the JHS Show. Glad I’ve managed to replace my stolen one again for £35
So many players have hated on the Lumberjack saying it’s the worst sounding drive pedal they’ve ever heard! Which is bollocks!! It’s because they expect to plug straight in and it to immediately sound brilliant, you should always work with any piece of musical gear to develop & create decent sounding tones that are personal and help you achieve your own individual guitar sound rather than wanting to sound exactly like your favourite past players which is just boring and not how I role when songwriting and playing my band. The synthesis of sound for me is a creative and fun process and what it’s all about editing any bit of gear so that you actually understand how sound works and what parameters when edited will effect the sound in different ways, understanding the gear you are using is really rewarding when producing music and will give you an overall better knowledge of how sound if you’re willing to actually put the time in to learn how things work and not just wanting to plug straight in and sounding like Hendrix, Page, SRV or John Mayer which has all been done and heard before, nice to have a bit of originality in my world.
I use it on my banjo, sounds Amazing
I bought a lumberjack about 7 years ago and it's such a beast! I love the squelchy weird responsiveness
I love watching the prices skyrocket after JHS's videos. Hilarious!! Wait a couple months and everything comes back to reasonable.
Hey, I love when you guys make this kind of video, is pretty hard to find gear where I live so when you explain about components and about topologies it makes easier for me to find the similar gear and achieve my goals, thanks a lot guys!
I appreciate that Josh's voice was not actually sped up during the reading of the Lumberjack email - just the pitch of his voice. *chef's kiss
The ehx lumberjack is good on bass, but I think it really shines when you starve the voltage. It turns into a sort of gated fuzzy thing, I've been telling everyone I can about this
for some reason i thought it was a digital distortion
@@tonyvari The graphs maybe?
@@Fernando-ry5qt graphs? i was thinking it was like the boss dyna drive
@@tonyvari I mean due to the graphic design, but I was far off
There’s definitely some DSP under the hood, unlike the other ehx pedals in the nano series it doesn’t take a 9v battery. It think it was more about the logarithmic curve that the overdrive is based on, so if it’s not getting enough voltage I could see it doing some random funky stuff. The tc electronic dimension pedal does something similar, when the battery starts to die the chorus signal starts to randomly detune
I love how Josh is upping the ante. Finding cheap yet slightly obscure pedals whose value cannot be artificially inflated. Fighting the scalpers while finding the best deals. 😂
lol they still same price, the tubular pedal, before this video around 60 to 80 dollars, after video, 60 to 80 dollars.
@@RockG.o.d mission accomplished! 😜
@@allthingsclassicrock now just waiting for him to review the jcm 900 so I can buy one.
@@RockG.o.d 😂😂
I found a lumberjack for $1000 on reverb. Had to get it.
My favorite overdrive is the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive. I have tried many, many others (by both Boss and not Boss) and I just keep coming back to it…
That's one pedal I think I have 4 of right now.... original, 40th Anniversary, Waza and Keeley Modded just because 🤷♂
i remember playing a gig with my mesa boogie lonestar and i just used the amps drive... then the opening bands guitarist used my amp and plugged in that pedal into it and it sounded freaking amazing. I was shocked.
It's the only pedal I've played that I actively dislike. Maybe it's just the amp I'm using. Glad somebody is getting some good tones out of it!
I use an sd1 for my main drive on my board. 🤙I think I paid around 30 bucks for it used. Haha
@@R3volutionEarth love the SD1.. but 35 years of guitar gearing has lead me to a simple rule...Humbuckers SD1....singles TS...
Always interesting banter and a wealth of knowledge. I always enjoy these vids. Keep It coming...
Lots of love for the EHX Lumberjack here. I picked one up back when they first came out and I love the fact that it is truly unique sounding. It's not a "go to" overdrive for me per se but it definitely has a fun personality. I had no idea about the Bob Myer thing so that is pretty cool too. Fun video episode!
My greatest score was earlier this year when I got a 1979 silver screw, long dash, 14 pin Boss OD-1 for $90
I don't think I've seen any jack deville / mr black branded stuff on this channel before, it's about time! Jack is a really kind guy in my experience and an incredible technical designer. Mr black pedals tend to be simple but more expansive than you might expect as you fine tune controls.
Jack's designs are behind the scenes more than most realize, I think he helped Nic Harris with DSP tape emulations and reverbs, and is a sticker about circuit board layout. I love jack and you should too!
If your in Pdx go see super secret band while you can
I’m so tempted to try his DeluxePlus. I have boss FRV-1 for my spring - which I’m surprised JHS hasn’t ever said anything about it. And I’m using a walrus monument. But that temptation to cut space with something like the deluxeplus is growing everyday lol
I have seen them be very complimentary of the Mr. Black Tapex 2.
His DSP budget harmonic tremolo is NICE.
@@markstowe9011 ahh, where the FRV-1 is concerned, I'm not surprised, I'm sure he just doesn't want to inflate the price of a BOSS pedal that's been out of production for a while, BOSS are well past COSM chips and one simple video espousing it's quality as a '63 Reverb tank simulation will just ramp the prices up by at least $200
yesss i have been rocking around with my own cheap lumberjack for years! finally some recognition
Real talk - I'm glad you kept doing these. The tubulator sounded great!
I'm not looking for an overdrive but i've never seen the EHX Lumberjack so i clicked on the video to find out what it is. That's easier and probably more accurate than googling it.
I have both the Tubulator and the Tube Mania WITH the boxes! 🎵HE HAS THE BOX🎵Very glad I got them before this episode. Fuzzy velcro on the pedal keeps it from sticking to carpets and rugs.
I have the Tube Mania. Of course, he would demo the Tubulator. 😊
@@johnchaney9849 Of course 🙃
@@sl3102 He did mention the Tube Mania. It inspired me to try mine. It reminded me of a DS1 with the tone knob cranked. I put it back in the box!
@@johnchaney9849 I have used it stacked for some unusual grit. Maybe not the finest distortion on its own, but still a weird and fun pedal that was dirt cheap when I found it :)
Love this ❤ new series The resurrection looking back at older forgotten gem's 👌 .. more please 🙏
You guys are so great. So much fun. Like this stuff should be. Good work. On the whole shebang.
I'm a big fan of the Lumberjack. It would be cool if Josh could find other logarithmic distortions and maybe explain what makes them different and how they actually affect the sound.
I love my Tubulator, those Arion pedals are a hidden gem
Best one yet !!! Love the attitude !!!
Just bought a 1st gen DOD Grunge. It's as bad as I remember and I love it. These videos just brighten my day. ❤
I've had a Rust Driver for years, great pedal!
Wow, the JDS-50, the Lumberjack and the Rust Driver Jam really got my attention, I like the sound 🔥🔥
🙏🏼🖤
The Lumberjack jam had a tone and feel of Interpol. Loved it.
My first overdrive was the Lumberjack and I still have it. If you tweak it just right, you can get a torn speaker sound which I just really love it for. Sounds great with a slide too.
There is a cool easy mod you can do with the tubulater that changes it into a 8 bit sound generator. It kinda makes an arpeggiated lofi synth like sound I put a switch on mine so i could toggle between normal OD and 8 bit. Plus the overdrive was pretty damn good. I miss that pedal..
My favorite part - at the end of Lumberjack Jam, where Josh defiantly turns up all the knob and gently tips the stomps over 😂
Listing 2x Tubulators and Lumberjack Right now! That oughta cover my child's tuition since josh talked about them. Thank you JHS!
I had a Tubulator but was never so happy with it. Of course, it sounds great with Josh playing it! I do have a Arion Chorus which I love.
Would love to see an episode on Danelectro's cool cat series. I have the drive v1 (close to the OCD, got it for 25 Canadian) and the transparent od v2 (close the timmy, got it for 30 Canadian). Love the channel, keep it up!
Love seeing a lumberjack on reverb for $1,000 right after watching this
It’s wild that after re visiting your channel and watch more frequently again a couple years ago, I literally looked to see if you covered the Arion Tubulator (or others in the line) Because its such a great deal and has great tone options with some tweaking. Our band ended up having 2 on a record. I found out about them over 10 years ago and it’s a default recommendation when people can find them for what they used to go for next to nothing,
Thank you Josh and team this definitely put a smile on my face today
I got a deal on a used EHX lumberjack a while ago. The trick with that pedal I thought was stacking it as a post gain boost and finding the sweet spot in the blend between the clean and dirty signal, but at the end of the day it really wasn’t for me. Now I’m sad I sold it when I did because I am going to miss out on the JHS price bump effect 😂
I recently got a Boss OD-3. Criminally underrated.
It's definitely an overdrive
Guyatone micro overdrive is my fave cheap overdrive.
I was just thinking about the Logjammer pedal last week wondering what was so logmarhythmic about it. Thanks for showing it.
I really loved the sound of that Tubulator, especially with the dotted 8th delay... sounds like The Strokes meets early U2
I love the Nobels ODR-1, it has been my #1 drive since I got it, especially when it's boosted by the Morning Glory. Despite being like $80 used it feels robust enough to handle weekly use, the only issue I have is the jack placement
The Tone city Nobleman is pretty solid too, it’s only like $50. Very similar vibe to the Nobels ODR-1. All metal housing but it doesn’t have the reputation for becoming microphonic like some of the ODR minis have.
I really want to try the Nordland ODR-C that everyone raves about. It basically does what the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe did to the Klon Centaur circuit - make it super tweakable and give it tons of powerful EQ, plus some awesome capabilities with the compression characteristics.
Yep, the ODR-1 is magic. I have a Wampler Tumnus pushing an ODR-1 Mini. I can play about anything short of metal with that tandem.
EHX glove is a great cheapo alternative to the OCD. It actually is a bit different in some ways compared to the OCD, including an internal 18v switch. I prefer my OCD 2.01, but I loved the EHX glove for a long time. It's a great budget overdrive I can't recommend enough.
Also has the benefit of not financially supporting Mike Fuller, which is based and pog champ
@@cjo3730 I disagree, I think it was worth it for me to buy the OCD 2.01 because I am also supporting Mike Fuller.
@@cjo3730 Sweet can't wait to get a Clyde
Also wtf does "based and pog champ" mean ?
I don't want you to cancel me for my opinion .
I only come here for the jokes and jams and you guys never disappoint me. Sending much love from germany!
Scored a KHDK Dark Blood that was two months old at that point and maybe used twice for 99$ out the door at my local shop a few years back, so life was good.
Josh made my day, but I miss the Bad Monkey discussion🤔😂
I had a few of these Arion pedals. Just like the Bad Monkey, I got rid of them.
At least I can drown my regret in my new Lizard Queen. 😎
You *NAILED* that Glenn Fricker impression.
Oh man, Incubus and Spoon are great mashings for the Lumberjack demo. Loved that one.
Fender's Hammertone Fuzz is one of the best cheap fuzz pedals 🎨✨
Hello Rukuna,
I watched your guitar playing youtube video! I was moved by the unbelievably wonderful performance. Your transcendental guitar playing is amazing.😻✨
I saw a guitar playing video on your channel! really the best😊🎸
Lumberjack sounded great! Awesome dynamics. Wishing I could find one now that I know it exists…but now I can’t.🧐
Get something else
What a great comment!
Great vid thanks JHS! My sleeper recommendation is the Tech 21 Boost Overdrive. You get a 2 in 1 all analog pedal and the clean boost has 21db of gain! The Sparkle knob really sets it apart from most overdrives. Excellent build quality and the pedal box is metal instead of the standard cardboard. $149 new I see it come up on Reverb for under $100 fairly often. Cheers!
I consider whether or not the amp is plugged in and the knob settings a fun running joke in every demo. Great video!
UnFingbelievable. There’s literally only 1 ElectroHarmonix Lumberjack left on Reverb and it’s $1,000 plus $25 shipping. Thanks Josh!
Those were all literally on my Reverb wishlist… you monster!!😢
That Carly Rae Jepson nod was very spot on. I could see her singing over that! The only missed opportunity in this video was the chance to find out how good a Topo Chico bottle would work as a guitar slide!
Yes!! Nice to see Mr. Black get some love! Such great pedals! The "Fwonk Beta Purple Funk Generator" is such a badass envelope filter. Thick, syrupy and subby as all hell. Pretty much the sweet spot between the DOD FX25 and the EHX Q-Tron. And the "Thunderclaw" rips! Both are absolutely killin' on bass
No doubt prices for all four will skyrocket afher this, and so be it. Simple supply and demand. Thanks for making me aware of these pedals - even if it means making everyone else aware. I want that EHX pedal… and the others… DAMMIT😅
As long as JHS staff isn’t speculating on these pedals, it’s all good. Bring on more great pedal demos!
i've built the rust driver many years ago and completely forgot about it , i'm sure you can build it or find someone to build it for you if you don't find an originsl , it's a very simple overdrive , very similar to the op amp muff overdrive in schematic
Waiting for these to go up in price on reverb
Checking the sales-price history of each of these on Reverb, it's as if something happened on April 24th. Huh.
I love all JHS videos.....just keep them coming!!! Please.
This is the best 3 series ad Josh has done. A bunch of generic drives into an already dirty amp and 3 series delay the major focus.
The plumes is still my go to cheaper overdrive, also love the special Cranker.
Special Cranker is fantastic.
special cranker is such a good transparent OD.
Wicked bass! (especially on that Tubulator jam) I love the "sliding into home" aspect 😁
I’ve had an EHX Lumberjack for about 3yrs and love the drive I get from it especially stacked with other pedals. Totally works for me and my guitar sound and style, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but definitely one of my favourite and best pedals I’ve bought and it only cost me £40 New in the UK, probably because it’s not very popular. Love the Log factor it creates.
You put the loop Velcro on your pedals and the hooks on the board. If you change pedals a lot you wear out the loops and they don’t hold as tight. If they’re on the board you need to remove all the pedals and replace all of the Velcro.
Can you guys come play my prom? l....o....l melt down... No really you guys sound great together this should be the final form of the JHS band the sound is tight punchy bass playing is on par with the guitar and drums.. In the 80's or 90's you guys would be making hit records..
If I never played guitar, I imagine I would still watch & enjoy these videos because Josh delivers great info & has too much fun doing it
I've had the EHX Hot Tubes Nano on my board for the last 5 years or so and it has been my best friend! It's definitely got a bit more tone to it than a traditional tube screamer, but you can get a decent bit of fairly clean overdrive out of it.
Once you start getting higher gain out of it, the overdrive becomes nice and warm. Further, if you turn off the "Tone" switch, it starts to move into an OD/Light Fuzz territory.
Simply put, it's super versatile for everything I need!
Hurry up buy these pedals before the massive markup 😅
and now they cost over $600 in 3... 2... 1...
Always a GREAT show!
7/15/23: Checked on buying a Lumberjack used. They are discontinued. Someone on Reverb was selling this pedal for $235 and that’s before shipping and handling. I recall these EHX overdrives are in the $80-$100 range when new.
All overdrives sound the same.
Thank you Josh nice follow up. They are all good.
I love the lumberjack pedal. I've had it for years. Great overdrive
Something tells me that Josh actually knew that there were NO Lumberjacks on Reverb when he dropped the video. Instant unobtanium! I saw it 2hrs later and there were NONE! 😂 LOVED your jam for that one guys!
On Reverb someone is sell their Lumberjack for $1,000+$25 shipping..lol
@@derickjoy9873 lol some people. I'm going to send this to Fluff on the Riffs and Beards channel "Ridiculous Reverb Listings" series.
@@ssquirrel88 I think I see a pattern after looking up the rest of the pedals that Josh featured. Two of them have no listings, the Lumberjack has that one joke listing, and the Tubulator had one in Germany with a second modded one that was listed three years ago. That’s 3 pedals total! Maybe he’s trying to flush some of them out of the brush. Still I like the Lumberjack jam.
BTW: I’m not a hater, just finding this amusing.
Josh, i was waiting to buy the JDS-50 and now the price is going to go up. I had never heard of it before, but since you played it, i realize i've been waiting my whole life for it. So thanks for killing my dream.
The rust driver and tubulator are great. Used the Arion for a long time. Great to mod too. My favorite drive under $100 is the Keeley Luna Drive. Just picked up another a few months ago for $60.
TUBULATOR! My Dad walked me into a guitar shop in Tucker GA in the summer of 1997 and said I could pick out a pedal under $50- I didn't have any and I was 14 years old. Mine broke sometime in like 2012 or something. Loved it!
That Lumberjack pedal sounds great. Loved the tone on that one.
omg i was going to buy all of these, they were all in my reverb cart but ughhhhhh
Love you guys, JHS.
The Mr black pedal is probably my favorite. He makes fantastic stuff.
Mr. Black puts out some great stuff - love the panatrem, the shepard’s end flanger, the downward spiral delay??!?! So cool. Love the sound of the vintage ensemble chorus, the ss echo chamber is sick with the big ol slider, tapex2 does cool stuff and obv they make a bunch of cool reverbs…
And let’s not forget the DOOM Stick. Goodness.
I love your style of playing, I’m right into listening to bluesy rock solo but your styles so cool, somewhere between noel gallagher and nick mcabe of the verve or something, refreshing to hear your style when watching your vids
I just noticed that today you have a 420K subs, great number!
Awesome bass playing right there!
I love your jams!!!
I've been using an Arion tuner for over 20 years. I toured with it-the whole band had them. Still my favorite tuner pedal.
Been having my college "experimentation" days with Joyos.
If there is a sound that seems like it might be useful, there's usually a Joyo interpretation that can be had for cheap.
And even cheaper if you are willing to dig into off brands.
I love Joshes jams. Sounds nice and real and a helluva a lot of fun!
The OD’s are great but can we talk about that straight banger of a record! The real MVP of this episode.
You're the King of the delay pedal.. Your guitar musical styling is physically pugnacious in my ears. Cool video.
I'm one of the 7 people who actually bought an EHX Lumberjack when it came out. I did sell it, but it's a super cool unique little box, the Log Factor is a filthy bit of hair seemingly running in parallel despite being a mono signal. Just wanted a different, more basic, circuit to use as a boost. So off course I went from Lumberjack to a Klone.
I bought the JDS-50 after the first video you did on it. Still a great pedal.
