    after using the chair now for over two weeks several times a day, I'm so far quite happy with the quality and comfort. Not as good as a Helinox but pretty close so far. No woill need to use it for a year plus and see how it hold up to give a proper comparisson.

      Hi Stefan, so its been a year now. How has the Marchway fared?

    After this video I ended up buying the Helinox zero chairs at tent world as they are are only 490 grams each great for back packs, beach, concerts etc
    I already have big bulky comfortable chairs with arm rests etc so this option is at the other end of the scale
    Thanks for your honest review of a quality product

    I purchased recently a high back Marchway, and it seems perfectly adequate. I do find your videos beginning
    to have key points pertaining to weight and package equality.
    This I find helpful to any moto camper, backpackers or where a smaller and lighter selection is needed and clearly a must. So for adventure bikes specifically;
    These are both in my opinion to big for the mentioned carry along or packing. Whats tough is that the non high back packs no smaller I think.

    Thanks for the review, not a chair I would by, but at least a choice for people who cannot find the 220 bucks.Hope you keep up finding value for money products instead of the constant barrage from influences spruiking high end stuff.We all haven't got pockets full of coin.Cant wait for the update curious how they hold up.I give it a thumbs up!

      I'm definitely look at good value cheaper products but I find them hard to find in many instances cheap means poor quality but I'm always glad if I find a good niche product, so far I'm quite impressed by the chair

    Interesting. We have had our helinox chairs for five years now being used for camping and kids sports activities. They are still going strong. I’ll be interested to see the long term report.

      yes mine Helinox is only two years old but still going strong, so quality wise Helinox is excellent only time will tell how well Marchway will hold up but so far I'm quite impressed.

    Lol my helinox ground sheet was half the price of the cheap chair
    So my sunset chair cost 260 CND altogether .
    Crazy price but the quality is top notch

    Interestingly the smaller , low back Helinox does swivel like the knockoff version. It should be cheaper, they did have to pay for any R&D.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  4 роки тому

      yes, and in a way I hate knock off and people using other peoples design and ideas but unfortunately that's how it is and they are around with or without me. I find the Helinox excellet but a little overpriced with a slight price difference I would go original in most cases but similar quality and 1/2 cheaper... hard to beat.

    Thanks for your review and comparison. I would have liked to see you measure the wall thickness of the aluminium tube of each chair frame while you had your vernier callipers out. I suspect the Helinox may have thicker walls. I enjoyed your review nonetheless. Thanks Lee

      good idea, I may at some stage review a few more Helinox chairs will make sure i measure wall thickness then.

    We have three Helinox chairs, very happy with them. Super light, easy to setup and put away, plus takes up little room.
    Only issue is they are light, so around a camp fire and you leave, you need to put the chair on its back/ front so it doesn’t blow into the fire.
    Nevertheless, I highly recommend!

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  4 роки тому +3

      I do use it as my main chair for touring but not for base camping with the kid's, will make a video of my main chairs which I have for several years and in my book is the best full size camping chair.

    I appreciate the effort to put this video together, but I find no value in chasing high-end camping - glamping. To me, (very much a personal perspective) camping is about making do with what is around you, not bringing the whole shebang with you.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  4 роки тому +3

      Hm I don’t regard a lightweight camping chair glamping or the whole shebang. Just something to sit around the fire 🔥, eat or offload and back up my files with. This chairs take up little room amd weight hence they are quite appealing to me.

    • @MiniLuv-1984
      @MiniLuv-1984 4 роки тому +1

      @@AlloffroadAu No problem, I did not set out to offend. I actually admire the engineering of that chair - lightweight, compact yet able to hold a 130kg person. I was pointing to a trend that I think detracts from camping. This view is reinforced when I see 12V ovens, microwaves and tin can caravans with more bling than a jewellery shop. They are great, some are engineering masterpieces, but they do not contribute to the essence of camping. It is no longer the simple act of being with nature on her terms, it is imposing our suburban way of life where it doesn't belong that rattles my can. As campers, we rob ourselves of the thrill of creating from nothing, making do with what one can find and overcoming challenges- if you get my drift.
