I have lost most of my second cutting to the dry weather. My 1086 is about 140hp and my dicsbine pulls it down by 2 to 300 rpms in good first cutting when putting up hills. Nice looking field there.
Mr. D the Kubota Discbine does a beautiful job cutting. Its been kinda wet here in the northern panhandle of W.V. as well. Hope the re fertilizating helps for new growth. I'm sure it will especially with the wet weather. Enjoyed your video.
Looks good. I ran my 50 PTO hp JD 5055d on my Krone 9ft Disc mower conditioner w/impellers in 2nd cutting a few years ago. Ran about 4-5 mph, not heavy grass and while the tractor didn’t bog down, it ran a tick hotter than normal, certainly any oil residue and lent on the engine evaporated quickly - LOL! The biggest thing is the Krone is very heavy at the tractor, I think somewhere between 1,200 and 1,400 lbs. Like you, I want to have the option in a pinch to use the JD, but the vertical static drawbar load max is listed at 500 lbs and on a similar model JD, maybe 1,000ish lbs. So when I bought a moco, I needed a lower lift arm mount vs drawbar mount. Don’t know if your moco is drawbar mounted, but if it is, you might check the maximum vertical static load for the drawbar. Nice looking hay!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm yeah she uses her power its like our kubota mower but the best thing with kubota engine it doesn't stall wich the other brands would stall and kill the engine there tough engines
i use a john deere 3020 (70 pto hp) on our 1525 swinger mower it doesn't have a crimper tho , however the 3pnt on the 3020 quit last cutting and havent got it figured out yet , guess just cant pick the round bales up with it
Do discbines run harder than a haybine? I used to mow hundreds of acres of hay all summer long for a large dairy farm back in 70's with a 10' haybine. The fields were extremely hilly if not mountainous and I used either an Allischalmers 180 (70hp) or an Allis 200 (100hp) at about 9 or 10 mph with no lack of power.
They pull much much harder. A big haybine can easily be run with a real small tractor. A discbine takes some power to run. In my experience it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 7.5-10hp per foot
That's the way it was on my neighbors farm that I worked on when I was a kid. Now he has bigger tractors. Once you start getting higher horsepower tractors, it makes you wonder how you got anything done with the smaller ones 😂
Are you still liking the m4? I was going to get one but my drum mower requires 65 hp at the pto, where the tractor makes like 60 at the pto. So I started looking at the M5, but it looks like, if you have the DMC8536R, it requires 70 at the PTO, not the motor. So this makes me think I might be able to run it
I will not be buying another M4-071. The first week the gear shift broke. I have also had the lift arms bend when running a disc cutter. It really lags when running the cutter on slight inclines. I figure next time, I will buy green paint. Great video though. I did get to speak to a Kubota corporate guy, and they were like yep we know the M4 isn't tall enough to run our disc cutter
Well, it got the job done... Our first JD discbine, we ended up having to run it on a smaller tractor (115 horse) I had to cut with the mower up.. then recut with it down. Was a long day.... Thanks for the DAYLIGHT video Chris 👍😎
Hey, I always like watching your videos. Have you ever tried your rpm maintainer button? Still may be too much mower for it but I like using it when I mow hay and seems to help. Anyways take care and good luck.
Maybe Kap can prove his tractor is better and run the hills faster LOL. Yours is still a sexier tractor lol. Did you get hydraulic self leveling loader?
I would really enjoy getting together with him and testing our tractors side by side- too bad we live so far apart... No, I hate self leveling loaders lol
Always nice to watch your video's, no shortache of action, thanks very much
Thank you! There is never a shortage of work to be done lol
And yes, way better vid than that night time one! Great stuff man! Good luck with the fresh start on the hay field!
Yeah, that nighttime video turned out terrible. I was really surprised how dark the footage turned out. Thanks Kapper!!
You guys have such a beautiful farm! I like that swivel on your disc bine mower!! Good stuff man! Take care.
Thank you! Yes, the two point swivel hitch is fantastic, especially in smaller fields. Glad you were able to stop by 🙂
Love the M4
Nice looking hay field

I am sorry to hear that. It has been a rough year... Thanks Monty!!

That Kubota is a sweet ride for sure;;;;;;;
Thanks! It did a pretty good job running the mower, but is a great chore tractor 🙂
kubota m4 and kubota hay mower perfected match plus made from same factory
It sure was a beautiful day there. I’m in the same boat with most of our second cutting. We win some we loose some. Have a good one buddy
Definitely losing more than winning this year lol Thanks Jacky!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm nice kubota mower goes good with the kubota m4-071 plus matches it

This Kubota mower seems to suck up all the horsepower it can lol It is a two point swivel hitch. Thanks for watching 🙂

For several years, my 70 hp MF 275 did everything! 🙂👍🏻

That 70 horse did alright! Moght be a little slower, but you now know you can use it in a pinch!
It didn't do too bad, but I am used to 120 hp on the mower lol

Wow, that would make for a long day! I had to try to redeem myself for that bad nighttime video 🤣
@@dehavenfamilyfarm it was slow..
You did a good job of redeeming yourself!
Why is it that kubota seems to need more H P than other tractors to pull their hay equipment.....ct
PTO Hp is 60 which is lite on hp
A Kioti 73 hp, like I have, is really equivalent to about an 80 HP! Should have got a Kioti!!! LOL (You know you had this coming!!! :)
LOL Nah, I like to spend more money for fewer options 😁
I also have a kioti rx 7320 very happy with it also
What are all the trees??????
My push mower will mow that pasture

Nope, never tried it but I will definitely have too! Thanks for watching 🙂
Can you tell me what size kubota discbine that is?
Just over 9 foot cut width 🙂
Ya know, your front end of that kobota would last a bunch longer if you would take that loader off. It takes like 5 minutes to take it off.
The loader on that tractor was used multiple times a day. I don't think taking the loader off to mow hay for two hours would make any difference 😉
Maybe Kap can prove his tractor is better and run the hills faster LOL.
Yours is still a sexier tractor lol. Did you get hydraulic self leveling loader?

It is nice to just leave the baler hooked up all summer.
It sure is! I try to unhook it as little as possible lol
Why dont you use the rpm management...its a button on the dash....it will keep pto rpm set at 540...
It would have helped some, but on some of the hills I had the throttle wide open and it still lugged way down lol
Never know unless you try
