I hear about those locked doors but luckily I haven’t come across any. They could become deadly if there’s a fire. I start the Norte soon and will check for for at least 2 unlocked exits for each place I stay.
I'm kind of in awe at the spectacular scenery. I'd be pretty freaked out, being locked inside an albergue like that. Thanks for keeping calm. LOL. My first thought was to climb out a window. LOL.
Wow! such a day of trail magic! a bathroom when you need it, more services than expected, your newest walking stick, a new friend, and a beer to end the day (Eagle Beer)! So many of the scenes remind me of Ireland. Do all albergues have guest books? I can't remember seeing one in anyone else's videos.
Nadine a thousand thanks for these videos, they are truly amazing. What a pity that you will not stay a little longer in Elizondo, because it is a town with a lot of charm, magic and tradition. I look forward to your next video, that one of the path that climbs to the port of Belate, which I understand is one of the loneliest places but in turn the most beautiful and impressive of the Baztán. My wife and I already have some roads of Santiago behind us (English and its variant of A Coruña, Portuguese, Finisterre). This year we are going to do this, the way of the Baztán in the middle of September, I mean, soon we’ll be there. Let’s see how it goes. I repeat many thanks for your videos, your smile and your sympathy and "Buen Camino" ¡¡¡ULTREIA!!!
HA! Honestly, it felt like a mirage. I hadn't seen anyone in hours, it was rainy and foggy and almost a little eerie, and then at the top of a big climb I see a bathroom? Like, was it even real??
Well, the door still has issues as myself and another German peregrino are currently stuck inside! With 2 other peregrinos waiting outside unable to get in🤦♀️🤦♀️
Oh no!!!!!! I hope it's resolved quickly, you'll have to report back! (and make sure that they figure this out so that you're not locked in overnight...)
We were rescued before too long luckily! 🤞 there are no issues tomorrow. Everything has been wonderful so far and I'm looking forward to getting an early start in the morning to begin the climb over the mountains. Thanks so much for making these videos, they have been so helpful for me in my planning!
I had to laugh when you mentioned you only lost 15 minutes due to the door situation. So very American to be obsessed with time. You’re on the Camino… relax. There is no wrong turn, the journey is the goal. I’m guessing that somewhere you will relax and adapt the spirit of the road.
Maybe a fixation on time IS an influence of my culture, though I do think it's a leap to assume I'm not relaxed or that I need to adapt somehow. I've walked lots of Camino's, and I love the way I walk! All the while knowing that the way we each walk a Camino is unique to us, that my journey may be different than yours.

Oh gosh I just love the gorgeous views! The guest book is also so cool to look through.
Lovely to wake up at midnight here in Calif and see your post. Beautiful!
Beautiful views! Thank you for sharing your journey.

No worries, it wasn’t meant to offend you. You be you and keep walking! I enjoy your vlogs immensely!
