Fun fact: Kim's portrait was actually the original sketch for his character. It was so perfect right off the bat that they just colored it in for the game.
I absolutely loves when this happens in art, I love getting Dow a sketch and it’s so perfect to the character I dont need to make any more drafts

But i couldnt bring myself to do it now i just draw these guys everywhere. It really is in the contrast of simple shape vs high detail eyes and skin(?)

I just found out his channel and I think I'll follow his playthrough of DE. Will he tend to go for the Boring Moralintern Cop? Is that more akin to his personality as a streamer?
I fairly sure Volition is one of those skills that can cause notable problems (sure it can help, but in some cases it only makes it worse...I've been told) in this game during certain parts, if its high enough. But Its been too long, so I don't remember in what way, or at what level it starts causing trouble. Regardless, I look forward to seeing if he feeds it points, and what actually happens if he does. I don't recall watching any playthrough where someone puts that much into it.

@@NoName-lk8ij I can tell, I don't know why but it has that "disgusting" charm. I really don't quite know how to explain it, it feels artsy but deliberate and hits me in my funny bone.
I haven't quite laughed as much as what that opening scene did.
Though, now I'm a little weary since there's something going on with the original creators and the company

Her name is taken from a 13th century Livonian manuscript - Livonian is indigenous "dead" language that used to be spoken in Estonia/Latvia and is similar to Finnish. But the writer just used a bunch of profanities and racial slurs that they learnt from hanging out with Finnish tourists.

Bricky tried to create his own archetype to better suit his own immersion.
Then he proceeded to recreate the Sensitive archetype, with the only difference being that the Volition is the Signature skill instead of an Inland Empire.
I appreciate that Bricky seems to gone into this blind. I find Disco Elysium to be the most fun when it reflects the player as they (mostly) are. I hope the rest of the playthrough delivers similar vibes.

i managed to nail it running a int/mot with the dictionary skill as the main one. Got that bad boy up to like 10 and dear god it never shut the hell up, but having int/mot be super high made evidence copping super easy.
In my current run I'm basically doing something similar, but i took a few points from int/mot to push psyche up a bit just for esperit de corps.
Inland Empire is really fun, but all of the stuff under psyche is really cool.
Disco Elysium is one of those games that really is just too amazing.

The necktie is a fun little wake-up call to those who make builds that are purely intellectual. It needs a Dex check, and a STR check when you turn on the lights. If you fail it with your sole starting hit point ...
And yet, it feels like if you succeed those physical checks, but don't have points in intelligence, the necktie is gonna make fun of you for the rest of the game.

I remember playing this game and refusing to see my face or acknowledge my name or rank at all. Alcohol birthed me anew and I accepted this new begining. Amazing game
I can’t express how much I love disco, you’re in for the emotional roller coaster of a lifetime man. I didn’t think I’d like it that much but by the time I was done it became easily my favorite game of all time. Genuine piece of fucking art.
bricky, youre in for one wild ride. Your analogy for this being a 1 man dnd game is kind of spot on, only addition i would make is that your stats are also your party members. Also not a command, or attempt at backseating, just a minor suggestion, but in the menu with the 6 rectangles at the bottom you can pull up all your stats and reading the info section for each one is some great content and helpful for understanding what they actually are and how they could help. remember to always have fun, cause being lame and safe isnt very disco.
My anxiety somehow carries over to video games so I will never be able to play this, but luckily I have Bricky here to brave the embarrassing and no doubt socially damaging choices that would've given me a panic attack. Luv ya, Brick!
I assure you it's worth putting yourself out of your comfort zone. I haven't played a lot of new games from front to back, but I played through this one a year ago and it is one of my favorite games of all time. I even made it a small way into a second run, which is significant for me.
No doubt this would nudge its way into my top ten. I've tried several times but could never muster up the courage to continue. I'm sure one day when I sort some things out I'll be able to. For now I'll watch on the side lines. Thanks for the kind words tho.
@@fawaaztoefy9334 As someone with severe anxiety issues (I currently take three separate medications just to function), you can do it. There are moments that'll make you feel terrible, but it's all worth it for the satisfaction you get in the end. Disco Elysium is a game where you are rarely locked into a terrible situation just by making one bad choice. And even if you do say something without completely thinking through its ramifications, there are lots of ways out of bad situations that don't require dice rolls. You have to go out of your way to come off as an asshole by consistently and intentionally making bad decisions.

@@DovahFett Harry is the most pathetic and endearing person imaginable, and that makes him probably one of the best underdogs in a story. Also the game expects you to fail at some point. That's part of the narrative and themes of the story.
Its always interesting how different people play this game, like I spent a solid 6 hours or something exploring the town before I even looked at the body in my playthrough
Jesus Christ this is going to be so amazing. Watching him figure out this isn't Earth gives me life, and it's just the first episode.
This is seriously one of the best RPGs if not generally games of all time. And when I call this an RPG, I actually mean it's a *Role-Playing* game. You actually have to make decisions as a character and the entire game is all about the choices you make in talking to people. Everything happens through dialogue and the game straight-up will force you to make meaningful choices at time if you try to play the middle road too much lol. Even if you're just playing as yourself instead of as a made-up character, the game still makes you role play as yourself. And there's so so many ways that things can play out based on those choices, it's just so good.
And just so you know, don't worry about not knowing something like where the currency is from or the "Marvel Hill" expression and such. The game takes place in a completely fictional setting and it assumes that you, like the protagonist, knows literally nothing about the world around you until someone explains it for you. So apart from the few things it actually references from the real world, if you don't know what something is, just roll with it and you can usually ask someone about it either immediately or later. Also it's good to pay attention to when a choice has Quotation Marks or not. If it does you're saying it out-loud, otherwise it's just an internal thought, which you can usually freely go through without progressing the outward conversation
Bricky is surprisingly smart about deducing stuff, I am so excited to see the rest of this

Holy shit, I just finished this game for myself and was looking for content creators I loved to see if they made this. Hope you enjoy this one, it was one of the most special games I've ever played. Both the funniest and one of the most mature games I've ever played. It's in the same tier as Outer Wilds for me (a astronomical task as you well know).

This first part is so fucking hard to watch. Bricky can’t choose anything and already missed a quest because of that. It isn’t going to be a fun playthrough when he’s so scared to be a wacky cop

The beggining dialogue is what hooked me to the game. Actually thought that was my characters voice but no audio for the main character because it was pre 100%voice over update. Which then turn it into a proper game audio book

I absolutely understand why you love Outer Wilds, precisely for the same reason that I have. BUT, I must say that this game is one of the best written that I've ever seen, and the things that you will learn will stick with you. The best thing is you can give it multiple playthroughs with different stats, the greater the stats the more chances they have to talk to you and influence your thoughts and development during the game.
