Others tried a few times, but never succeed. Emily tried it in the finale of starstruck adventure if I'm not mistaken. Also, in that finale I don't think there was an Ally row, but Zak (I think) did get a nat20 with one of ally's dice.
Wasn't Kristen that snuck the Principal in to heaven, allowing the Principal to kill, temporary replace and then brought him out of there too after Kristen made the incomplete God.
To be fair, Brennan would have needed to change a lot either way was soon as Pete decided to try. On a 19 he would have been dead and Ally would need a new character, and there would be no Vox Phantasma the rest of the season. Also, no one would know what happened or even about null's presence. Brennan provably designed it as a non violent first confrontation and maybe a escape sequence to establish the final boss, but Ally said "fuck that" even before it could start, and the dice came through. It's probably the most insane scene in all of d20.
this sounds like such a raw line until you remember that it came from a video about a guy in a suit ranting about sonic the hedgehog for just over 14 minutes.
I think all us non binary people have this luck power since I often get the perfect d100 roll to get the cool result, be that a 1 on something I only have 1 skill point in, reshifting the whole story, or just a string of 15% chance extreme successes going 5 in a row.
Ally has spoken about having a weird relationship with religion and God due to their evangelical upbringing, which I get, but after seeing these clips, maybe Ally should look into their possibly being the human form taken by the God of fortune and chance.
Ally is a deity and we haven't caught up yet. If Battle for Beyond continues, Imma need them represented in star form somewhere to celebrate their passion for astrology. Especially as Jasmine is a fan.
It's more just that us non-binary people get a boost to our luck, and healing abilities, this luck is often called foresight it's all thanks to Ishtar.
Thank you for this! My absolute favorite (so far) has been that one from FH2. That religion check where they show the dice after the roll. I don't even know why I just love it so much! I remember rewatching the moment over and over again, but I don't have a subscription anymore so now I can watch it here! Thank you!
Well doesn’t the players handbook specifically describe that if a player rolls a Nat 20 on a death saving throw they not only instantly pass death saving throws, they also stand back up with one hit point? It’s really only a dimension 20 rule that a nat 20 on death saving throws usually means 2 successes instead of 3. Effectively Ally was just asking to make another death saving throw to see if they could get that nat 20.
Maybe its just me but d20 in general has absolutely insane rolls that suits the plot. Ally do be magical though. To be honest, they have too much power! We gotta stop them at some point!
to borrow a quote from another dm, if i may: "i love dungeons and dragons!" (the emphasis doesn't really come across in text but i'm hoping my reference still does sdhfdjhs)
I woke up and chose violence apparently, so here goes. *Technically* natural 20s only count as a critical success in combat for attack rolls. On ability checks like Intimidation, the only thing that is important is the total (d20 + relevant modifiers) unless stated otherwise. I know that Brennan seems to count Nat 20s as a critical success outside of combat, which is what I do in my games because look how excited everyone gets, but he *could* choose not to make Nat 20 an auto success for the ones that weren't specifically "can this happen if I roll 20" . Please don't hurt me. *Pain kink plot twist*
Whoah it's almost like they ask to roll for inane things all the time and occasionally get lucky with a natural 20 and just assume that everything they want to happen will succeed. This is the problem with people thinking that natural 20's are an auto success on ability checks cause then people just try to do crazy stuff all the time, very rarely incur punishments for failure and occasionally roll natural 20's and assume it automatically succeeds. Ally's great but I am not a fan of fishing for success like Dimension20 quite often does.
"Magic is real and so is my Ally" is such a powerful line
it's referencing adaine's "magic is real and so is my frog" lmao
It's crazy how it's ALWAYS Ally who goes "Can I just roll for a 20 to become the deus ex machina of the campaign" and IT WORKS
Others tried a few times, but never succeed. Emily tried it in the finale of starstruck adventure if I'm not mistaken. Also, in that finale I don't think there was an Ally row, but Zak (I think) did get a nat20 with one of ally's dice.
Fun fact, Kristen Applebees has both created and resurrected a god. All that’s left for them to do is kill one.
To become one
watch ally kill the night yorb for season 3 of fantasy high
Junior year, Kristen kills the Night Yorb
Senior year, Kristen becomes a god *somehow*
You forgot punch a god
Wasn't Kristen that snuck the Principal in to heaven, allowing the Principal to kill, temporary replace and then brought him out of there too after Kristen made the incomplete God.
i have to say my favorite is the TUC2 mid season nat 20, ie the "if you had rolled a 19 you'd be dead"
thats the first clip i ever posted bc it was so bone chilling lmao
Definitely the most clutch but I mean their rolls are insane
"You basically punched a great white shark in the nose and it swam away"
Also technically that nat 20 ended the that storyline cause brenenn had to change the whole thing
To be fair, Brennan would have needed to change a lot either way was soon as Pete decided to try. On a 19 he would have been dead and Ally would need a new character, and there would be no Vox Phantasma the rest of the season. Also, no one would know what happened or even about null's presence. the way brennan was so excited when pete’s d4 helped kingston percentile roll… I LOVE THIS GAME
i probably rewatched the scene when first saw the episode about 100 times
yeah i think brennan was literally like "i want this moment to work, hey ally can you please do magic?"
Brenan's look after that Nat20 just to be alive is like "ok what bullshit shenanigans can do i have to pull now"
Apparently create a new god hahah
My favorite part about the Unsleeping City 2’s Bend Luck was the comment in the Adventuring Party that only Ally could roll a nat 20 on a d4.
you forgot the most poetic moment: Episode 7 of A Crown of Candy where they rolled a nat 20 on punching Thad the Avocado, nearly one-hit killing him.
When Brennan rolled the death saves for Thad I absolutely lost it lol
That one episode in acoc when Ally rolls two nat20s in a row and in the same episode Murph rolls two nat1s also in a row
A.K.A The Peppermint Pawnch
Episode 12 intimidate on Oliver Onionpatch was pretty good too
that last one was Brennen testing if Ally was magic which is why he's so hyped 🤣
Either Ally is God or could kill God and I do not care if there is a difference!
this sounds like such a raw line until you remember that it came from a video about a guy in a suit ranting about sonic the hedgehog for just over 14 minutes.
@@khushik3899 big facts
Only a god could kill another god
This is literally my ring tone 😂
Well in DnD if you kill a god technically you get to be that god
Love the dumbfounded look on Brennens after that first nat 20.
This is season 1, he didn't know what he was fucking with yet.
I love how Ally punches the air whenever they get a good roll, pure joy
There is only 2 gods that I believe in. Ally and their uncanny poetic nat20s, and Taliesin and his eldritch nat20s.
I think all us non binary people have this luck power since I often get the perfect d100 roll to get the cool result, be that a 1 on something I only have 1 skill point in, reshifting the whole story, or just a string of 15% chance extreme successes going 5 in a row.
worth remembering that in babylonian mythology, NB folks are considered magic.
i love this thank you
I always knew I had magic, thanks Babylon
Also, just in the day to day, NB folks are considered magic.
@@athena1491 yes. By me. Love y'all fellow enbies
@@athena1491 everyone say thank u athena
That first one at the end of Fantasy High was the most "fuck you dm" moment and the greatest timed random ask I have ever seen.
If I had a quarter every time Ally rolled the magic number at the finale I would have 1.25 which isn't a lot, but its weird it has happened 5 times
I love Brennan's face after Ally rolls that Nat 20 to be alive... Just pure "Is the Corn God real?"
I love that for tuc2 Brennan is actually excited for them and then realized what they just did and has to figure it out
I love how excited Brennan gets for Ally’s roll on bend luck, it really shows how he plays dnd as a collaborative thing not just dm vs pc
Ally is the only person that can crit on a d4
I love how happy Brennan gets on that last one, he's a great example of a good DM. You should be happy for your players when they succeed.
Ally is simply a very powerful magical being and they just haven't told anyone
Ally has spoken about having a weird relationship with religion and God due to their evangelical upbringing, which I get, but after seeing these clips, maybe Ally should look into their possibly being the human form taken by the God of fortune and chance.
Ally is a deity and we haven't caught up yet. If Battle for Beyond continues, Imma need them represented in star form somewhere to celebrate their passion for astrology. Especially as Jasmine is a fan.

After that one bit in the finale of EXU Calamity, I now urgently need to see Ally and Travis Willingham at the same table.
Emily is the strategist but Ally is the miracle worker.
i will never get over murph's gasp when ally rolled that nat 20 to come back to life a;sldkfj;ds
I could care less about what these rolls do for the story, I just love watching everyone freak out
Their slow, crooked smile on the FHSY roll was just so attractive
i feel like this compilation is missing the moment in usc2 where pete tries to fight null in the dream world
haha i didnt include it bc it wasn't a finale but i did clip it out and post it!
Everyone yelling “Magic!” In the Sophomore year one… so good
When I’m sad I just watch this video, all praise the great Ally Beardsley roller. They who is blessed by the dice gods
this comment makes me so happy, i'm glad this compilation helps ur mood :-)
i love this and extra love how excited everyone (esp murph) is whenever this happens !!
I want a new CEO video about Rupert Lamp, the CEO of D&D hearing about all of Ally's nat 20s
That's an idea! April Fools is coming up. Someone needs to contact Brennan.
Come on, you didn't even have them 20ing on punching a all consuming void.
these are poetic finale rolls!!! that one has it's own special video
2:10 Brennan's "WHAT THE F*CCK!!!!!!!" was so hilarious
Thank you for this! My absolute favorite (so far) has been that one from FH2. That religion check where they show the dice after the roll. I don't even know why I just love it so much! I remember rewatching the moment over and over again, but I don't have a subscription anymore so now I can watch it here! Thank you!
alternative title: brennan slowly going fvcking insane
1:34 Shit like this makes it feel like ally is the actual Vox Phantasma, but they represent the story of DnD campaigns
is it really a dimension 20 finale if ally doesn't have a poetic roll/important nat 20???
These compilations made me want to watch it
that makes me happy to hear! lmk if you ever end up watching :-)
4:50 Brennan gets so excited lmao I love this group
Ally is blessed by Dice Christ, they have to pick a class for real now
I remember during A Crown of Candy they had unreal rolls as well. Wild how it keeps happening.
It's easy to explain, Ally is the balance for Wil Wheaton.
RNG has decided to blessed them and their dice because Ally is a delightful human. They are amazing.
I love how Ally asked it "Then be alive?"
I know how to explain it! Nat 20 doesn't neccessarily mean automatic success. Hahahahaha
It does in dimension 20, it's their homebrew rules
They have the most clutch rolls! It’s amazing lol
They are favored by the powers of fate and luck when it comes to these dice rolls
It is my express belief that everyone has their own little magic power, and this is Ally's
i love this thumbnail too. they look so perfectly and deservedly smug
Ally In a crown of candy was just rolling Nat 20s for everything
the unsleeping city role when they were first meeting null, and literally anything other than a Nat 20 would have killed them, was my favorite
i want their dice
I'm already excited for this season's nat 20
I love that at 2:07 they don't have to say a word.
I will be so happy if they can keep it going in Starstruck finale... pleaseeeee corn god!!!! Give Margaret luck!
Cant wait to what shit they do in the Starstruck Odyssey
and i love that for them
I feel so bad for the dm of any game that ally is in.
they're so frigin cool
THE RIGHTS! The way they throw them right hands!!! BODY BLOW, BODY BLOW, BODY BLOW! NAT 20s!!!
I love it that everytime ally asks questions that Brennan hasn’t yet thought of the answer to.
Maybe its just me but d20 in general has absolutely insane rolls that suits the plot. Ally do be magical though. To be honest, they have too much power! We gotta stop them at some point!
They're Wil Wheaton's counter balance. Lol.
I think the chain was finally broken on Mice and Murder
Ally is the antithesis of Wil Wheaton
Look, dice are the physical form of eldritch gods come to our mortal plane to weave their stories, and Ally has tapped into their power.
They're like the inverse Will Wheton!
What will Margret Encino's Nat 20 be, find out in a week!
so Ally is the reason Wil Wheaton has a dice curse?
This video is proof that God has favorites
They are truly blessed by the corn god
For some reason, i forgot to watch the second season of Unsleeping City...
I shall rectify THAT at once!
to borrow a quote from another dm, if i may: "i love dungeons and dragons!"
(the emphasis doesn't really come across in text but i'm hoping my reference still does sdhfdjhs)
CEO of Dungeons and Dragons: YOU HAVE TO STOP ROLLING NAT 20s!!!!
Ally is literally magic. Magic is real and Ally is magic.
I fear them.
*tmw we're waiting for them to roll a nat 20 in the final episode of starstruck*
One day I will have my dice blessed by beardsley
The game knows. Swear to god.
brennan’s face is the best thing ever
Can't wait to see what bullshit Margaret pulls.
Hail to the Corn God.
Being nonbinary gives you luck powers, everyone should know this by now
You should have included the banishment on null in unsleeping city season 2 as a bonus as well
So true
There the anti Wheton
Someone give me some context as to why that dragon has a freaking tuxedo?
all of their characters have plot armor
does anyone know where to find the full episodes of their DnD games?
when will Brennan Lee Mulligan learn lmao
How do they do it!!
What was the exact timestamp for that intimidate keradin roll, does anybody know
11:50!

why are u bitter about friends having fun in their own game
