    What Amberlynn is describing, waiting all day to eat and then having it all in one sitting, is a binge. That’s why doctors will tell you to have small mess throughout the day.

      @BigBootyTrudie yeah,,, FUCK i hate it when i have to say something that might justify amber but since i started really taking control of my life in regards to my eating habits and weight i find myself to not be that hungry anymore. i mainly ate during the day out of boredom. now that i eat based on actual hunger cues i’m not hungry until i get home from work and a 800kcal meal and a nice dessert is more than enough for me. a whole ass seafood boil to herself is very different of course but a big meal at the end of the day isn’t ALWAYS a binge
      edit: whoops! just realized my wording may sound like was disagreeing with you. i just wanted to support your omad argument with my own anecdotal experience if my intent wasn’t clear lol

    My partner choked on food in the middle of the night when he had gotten up with our baby. It was so terrifying for him that any time he ate he thought he was choking and he couldn’t eat. He ended up losing around 40 pounds in only a few months and he had to go see a specialist. Years later he still has times when he’s anxious while eating. Amberlynn gatekeeping a choking experience is just beyond flabbergasting, like no other person has experienced fear like she has. Truly we do not know anything like our gorl does, we should be lucky she shares such vulnerabilities with us since we just have no idea what it’s like.

    🥔 choking wake-up call didn't do shit to scare Amber straight; cancer, lyphedema, lipedema, not being able to walk 2 minutes without losing her breath; having a bedbound situation type deal didn't wake her up...nothing will. She'll wake up when she's 6ft under.

    • @BeckBeckGo
      @BeckBeckGo Рік тому +17

      To be fair, lipedema is not a side effect of obesity, it’s a genetic and hormonal condition that does NOT cause obesity. But it DOES cause localized fat deposits that aren’t responsive to dietary changes or increased exercise.
      Her size isn’t due to lipedema overall. It’s possible some parts of her body are experiencing this, but it’s not an overall obesity phenomenon.

    • @LegacyXJudah

Which isn’t what we’re seeing with ALR. Again, she may very well have it. But she ALSO eats enough to ensure the rest of her body catches up.

    • @ladydi-lynn

      @@BeckBeckGo I don't think that she has Lipedema, she presents as having Lymphedema. I was diagnosed with Lipedema 5 years ago and have had it since puberty. people have been especially hard on you lately, but I just want to let you know that there are plenty of us out here who really appreciate the way you approach ALRs content. While I might not always agree with everything you say, I find your takes the most enjoyable of all the reaction channels I watch. I love that you rely on proof when it comes to her drama (because thats what I think about too)- you talk about the various conspiracy theories and give your opinion on what theory *you* agree with, but you respect that others may disagree. And when there IS proof- if its a more serious topic you either give your input, or explain why you wont give input. If you dont give input, im usually a little bummed, but I almost always respect your reasoning. For the rest of ALRs life thats not so serious, your commentary is hilarious! To me, its the perfect combo.
    I wish everyone could see how rational you are, but like you say- everyone can have their own opinions. And in the meantime I'll try not to get too heated defending you. I could keep going, but I've already done a terrible job at keeping it brief lol- TLDR thanks for being you 😘

He’s compliments her and gives her constructive criticism.
      Does she deserve it? No. But he does it because we’re all human and none of us normal people actually want to see her die. But she can’t handle the honest feedback so she has to say she hates him and refuses to watch, otherwise she’d have to admit to listening to him

      Possible, but this suggests that Amberlynn managed to find her 'self-awareness bone,' which requires so much suspension of disbelief that the lamp is just *gone* past the mesosphere. Far more likely that this whole deal was an ill-fated attempt to garner sympathy. Which not only did she fail, as everyone is laughing at her, but also people can focus their attention on two things at once--And now people are aware of the things she did to Destiny and her family, *and also* people are laughing at the gorl who choked on a piece of potato and shidded and farded in her breeches.

    I can speak to the ptsd element. I was wearing a dress and he lifted it up to landmark to do abdominal thrusts. He saved my life. I barfed in his mom’s kitchen sink. And I was annoyed that his mom saw my underwear 😂 I still have anxiety when eating alone.
    For the record, once someone is unconscious from choking, you do regular old cpr (and blind finger sweeps are no longer advised). Worth taking a class! You never know when I lived one might need you to save them!
    Also, there’s an element of truth to being too big for Heimlich. You need to be able to get your arms all the way around and be able to do a forceful abdominal thrust. If someone is pregnant or too big, you do chest thrusts instead. I expect it’s as effective, but I haven’t seen the research on that.
    I’m not a cpr expert. I’m a healthcare worker and re-take various lifesaving courses yearly (since 2002!!). The research on best practices changes every few years, and one of the best things you can do for your loved ones is take basic lifesaving courses and renew them every few years. 😄

If you're actually choking you're not going to be able to hide it long because you reflexively start flapping or moving your hands and arms. Think of the last time you took a bite of food that burnt your mouth, you started flapping your hands right? Did you consciously think flap your hands or did your body just to that? I know i didn't think about it yet there i was flapping my hands around, banging on the table. Also, the lips start turning blue or purple. 2.5-3lbs in a month, at her weight, is not "trying". Like, at all, imho. That said, she had better start now & get used to having teeny portions, cutting everything up into very small pieces. After taking 1 bite, putting the fork down, chewing the heck out of it THEN picking up the fork again. Takes a long time to eat very little (which is why she will end up 'eating' up to 6x/day) Also, tiny sips & no carbonation + no drinking of anything at least 20 min before, DURING or 20 min after eating anything. Definitely no pasta, soft bread, rice or anything that might swell/get stuck. THAT is gastric bypass post op & I still have to do it 20 yrs later OR.... extreme nausea, chest/abdominal pain, ears ringing, room spinning, cold sweats for up to half hr or until the food passes into my digestive system. She will learn REAL quickly if she doesn't start doing that now, trust. The healthier she can get before surgery, the more she can shrink a fatty liver, etc... the easier it will be on her for surgery & esp after.

      Wow, what a surprise.
      Since 2006 you're supposed to start with 5 back blows and then do abdominal thrusts.
      Apparently Dr. Heimlich there did a long long campaign against what he called Death Blows, the back slapping 😂
      He even funded a study in the '80s that showed back blows could do more harm to a choking victim than good. But in truth, there is no valid scientific evidence to prove that back blows are any better, or worse, than the Heimlich maneuver.

      @resstie Рік тому +3

      Interesting. Our standards say 5 back stricking motions with check in after each, then Heimlich maneuver (max 5 tries), then alternate between the two. Heimlich maneuver seems to have a bit of a, uhm, fun history, lol

      I think it's also a glimpse into how much more therapy she probably needs. I fully believe some of her food issues likely stem from her childhood trauma. I'm sure food insecurity was a real thing for her at times. Growing up poor, in foster care, and/or with addict parents are often in the backstory of many 500+ pound people. It's going to be dangerous if she doesn't get better about chewing before she has WLS. She needs to get to the root of why she eats like that.

    i stopped watching other reaction channels like Charlie Gold once I discovered you because I’ve always felt that you are able to convey your criticisms and opinions respectfully & tend to try to see the other side of things. A lot of other reactors are set on everything Amberlynn or others do as ALWAYS being negative but Zach can at least acknowledge that things might be interpreted different than the original poster actually meant. I hate when people clearly misspeak or use vague terms & people immediately assume that they’re saying the worst to stir up drama. Zach is by far the kindest & most empathetic of reactors I’ve came across. ❤️ semi-long term viewer (3ish years) & not going anywhere anytime soon!

    as someone who forgets to eat VERY often, the choking story is relatable. last week, I inhaled a piece of jalapeño. it burned. 😂 I also had to learn to take smaller bites and chew more. I sometimes use an interval timer to focus on chewing more. it's crazy.

    Zack, it's hard to reach your arms around someone Amber's size to do the heimlich. If you can't reach all the way around her waist at belly button level you can't do it. A nurse said you can do it higher up on the ribs where the person is probably smaller. There's a different technique for it so you'll have to look it up. You can heimleich yourself over the back of a chair or using the edge of a counter under your ribs if you're alone.
    About her weigh in- If you look it up the heaviest weight ALR should be at 5'2" is 130#. She's exactly 4 TIMES HEAVIER THAN SHE SHOULD BE! So to compare her 3# weight-loss to someone with a healthy bmi, it's the equivalent of a healthy woman losing 0.75#. I mean, DAMN!
