The secret she’s not sharing is that she has a new surgeon. No surgeon would undermine their own dietician to a patient- the new surgeon told her that the first surgeon making her wait a year is ridiculous
Tbf they can override them. My therpist told me that he used to do do evaluation for WLS but a lot of people ended up getting approved despite him not recommending for surgery. Probably why so many people's WLS ends up failing.
The thing she can’t talk about is that she switched clinics and tbh when she finally admits it people are going to call her a liar because she’s been pretending it’s the same place. Ugh she’s so frustrating

So I started my WLS process within the same week as ALR. I’ve found it crazy how different our “journeys” have been. While she’s about no different than where she started, I completed all pre-op requirements within 6 weeks. All appointments, all approvals, weight loss goals met, everything. My biggest wait has been insurance approving the prior authorization… They sent two denial letters in the last month requesting more info, and I was starting to feel so defeated… But I just got my approval letter today! 🙌😭 I’ll finally get to schedule my surgery and hopefully get it done within this next month so long as there’s availability with my surgeon!
I think her new surgeon is dr smith from 1000 pound sisters- he is in Lexington Kentucky and the scale she stepped on is the one Tammy used in his office. Also she claims she’s in a rush to see the doctor but her first surgeon was hours away in another state. If she had to travel hours she wouldn’t be rushing to leave she would get there hours early. And all of a sudden her surgeon went from being a woman to overnight becoming a man!!!
I think you're right. She use to be so wishy-washy with weightloss surgery but all of a sudden she wants it and wants it in a few months. I'm convinced she's only doing this because Tammy was approved. So using the same Dr. Is fitting to me.
She says "I'm going to therapy to be put under ANESTHESIA.... To get weight loss surgery to SAVE MY LIFE" with the same self righteous tone that I speak about front line nursing with inadequate PPE during peak COVID. Her tone is that of someone doing something noble and self-sacrificing, not that of a woman provider-hopping in order to get an elective weight loss surgery with lenient, damn near nonexistent, pre-op requirements. I just can't imagine what she's got to feel so smug about 🤨
Cakegate was similar - the way she said something along the lines of "I tried to do something nice and it gets ruined." She is such a source of light and positivity - making the world a much better place by opening up a PO Box for people to send her free stuff. Such selfless nobility 🙄

Yes I use her as a “what could happen” and I’ve got myself into the right head space so since Jan 1st I’m down 16kg (35lb) just a little more to go to reach my goal (I was nowhere near her weight though!!🤣) and I am NEVER going back to my destructive eating habits. This is for life!

It frustrates me, because youtube, as a career, doesn't often last long enough to make you independently wealthy. It CAN, mrbeast and many others have proven that it's possible. It's also possible to climb Mt Everest to the summit, but most people will never be able to do it, even if they try really hard. Like, as a content creator myself, I suspect I'll never even get as big as Amberlynn. But if I got even a fifth (idk random number) of her income, you can bet your sweet ass, I'd be babying every penny toward the place I hope to be in the future. The fact that it never occurred to her to invest the money she made into something that could prepare her for her next stage of life, like an education or a business outside of content creation, horrifies me. Every cent I get that I don't need for immediate survival needs, goes directly toward the future. Also, sure, she might have had a future as a media editor based on her VAST youtube career, but she NEVER FUCKING BOTHERED TO LEARN TO EDIT! Zach even tried to help her! I had no help, and I learned my tools within ONE WEEK. Motivation. Seriously. She needs more of that. I actually don't hate Amberlynn at all. I'm not an Ambaby. I clearly see how she gets in her own way and takes others along for the ride. But I DO think it's mostly subconscious. If I still had to do it, I would make sure she has not eaten for 8 hours or more, have her lay flat and have both arms over her head and take multiple deep breaths in as I take ultrasound images. There are better imaging modalities for her, but that's what I would do :)
Zach, your patience with her is incredible. I don't understand how it's not clicking in her head that despite her surgeon giving her small, easily achievable goals THAT SHE IS STILL NOT MEETING THEM. That's actually a good idea (or buying multiples of the color you like most) when you need alot of clothes or need a particular item. Like me who realized that I have only 3 short sleeve shirts for some reason. But I would bet she has way too many clothes soooo. Also, she's going to have wls so what's the point of buying clothes when you know they aren't going to fit.

ALR admittedly doesn't brush her hair regularly, so the regular shedding that occurs each day builds up and comes out all at once making her think its because her hair is wet, but it's because she doesn't take care of her hair.
@Livy Ayd...agreed 💯. I mistreated my hair with heat, dye, and perms. I wanted to get my hair back in condition, my hairdresser said, stop washing your hair every day, just wash once a week. And yep, the shedding was a lot more at the once a week washing. Needless to say, I could only tolerate once a week for about 2 months. 😂
your hair really is more prone to breaking when brushing wet, it's more flexible and that has something to do with it. there's brushes for combing your hair when wet nowadays though.
Its true that hair are more prone to damage when wet, but generally if you have curly hair it’s better to brush them wet. Also, if you put some conditioner and brush them it will not only prevent damage but also help conditioner to work better (of course you need to wash it after if it’s not leave on).
If she is still going to the same clinic since the beginning of this year she did most definitely gain approximately 40lbs since then! Obviously this is a new place that is unaware of this gain.

I actually think the surgeon may want to get her into surgery sooner rather than later because ultimately she really is at a very high risk of dying soon if she doesn’t shift a huge amount of weight. Her poor organs must be under so much strain! The only worry is that she’s absolutely the type to drop and the gain back because despite what she says she’s really not fixing her poor eating habits! I think that’s what’s going to stop either the surgery to begin with or be the ultimate result. I hope I’m wrong (genuinely) but she could and should be losing so much with limited effort at her size and she absolutely could eat a whole lot of food and STILL lose!! Shits not adding up 😂😉

She completely is missing the point of therapy. The way she explained it was terrible. The therapy is a necessity to address the issues she has that brought her to the point she’s at, so that after the surgery she doesn’t completely undo everything by not addressing the core issue and potentially seriously harm herself. I don’t have faith she can be successful with this unless she truly changes her mindset.
She wonders why people don’t like her, but she doesn’t give people enough information to want to support her for anything because she mentioned something and then says well I don’t wanna talk about it. How can people support you if they don’t really even know what’s going on fully? She gets literally right to the end of the point and still misses. It was the fact that you’re doing all this ASAP because you didn’t want to wait to get surgery because you haven’t solved you’re eating issues. It was the fact that you just want it done now and think you deserve it now instead of actually waiting and putting the work in for it And I call BS. They didn’t tell her to loose 1lb a week. With how overweight she is, she should easily be dropping 5 pounds a week if not more, if she actually was trying to lose the weight. Because 4 pounds in a month doesn’t equate to anything and doesn’t show that she is serious and can change her diet that she will need to. This weight loss surgery is a lifestyle change. It’s not a quick fix like she thinks it is.

ok this a completely personal experience and I am not saying she should also be this way but once I fixed my relationship with food (struggled with BED and bulimia) through extensive therapy (therapy, psychiatry, physiotherapy, medicine) and a lot of work, other people's opinions on what I was eating, the size of the portions, my physical activity etc, did not matter to me whatsoever. of course her audience is bigger and she is getting a lot of negativity which I understand can be overwhelming, but if she truly has been working on her relationship with food in therapy etc, I don't think she would be this defensive and pressed in almost every video. she seems extremely insecure and constantly needs to tell us how professionals are on her side etc. if you're secure and know you're doing what's right for you, people's comments no matter how loud just simply don't matter. I have a bunch of relatives and family members telling me I eat too much or work out too little/too easy, but I know I'm healthy and happy, I worked through all my issues with professionals, so I don't care at all, and they could never change me. idk just a thought.

My morbidly obese narcissistic mother had WLS. Lost some weight but was still morbidly obese because her starting weight was so high; then, she regained some. Despite objective facts, she BELIEVES she is a Skinny Legend™️ who can tell everyone how successful and amazing and healthy she is.
So basically now shes rushing to get the surgery she always said she didnt want because Tammy has lost a LOT of weight. 🙄 Also if she was told to wait a year because of her binge eating and then shes changed drs and not told them about it then the WLS is not going to work.
She has been so salty about Tammy, making comments that it’s easier for Tammy because she was in-patient and because Tammy’s starting weight was bigger than Amber’s highest weight. Now Tammy is more mobile than ever and on her way to get skin removal surgery as a great mark of her progress.
Zach literally knows Amber better than she knows herself. She says so much shit that contradicts herself in the past, and he always remembers, and he always has the receipts.
The combing your hair wet thing: I’m black so results may vary but if I don’t run a paddle brush through my hair, it is a NIGHTMARE to do it dry. It gets so tangled and I pull more hair out doing that than when it’s wet. My hair is also natural so it’s way easier to untangle while it’s wet than when I used to process it. Also, I hate how she always tries to act like she’s being such an altruist about her journey. She’s been on this platform for like 10 years and has yet to do the right thing. But now she’s an expert on everything and is putting in the work as if she always has. People are obviously going to be skeptical. Because she gives up the second anything gets mildly difficult.

The weight in the video clip is even higher than the one in the video where she gained weight. But because when she last weighted in at the clinic she was even higher she thinks she hasn't gained weight (officially) smh but if you got under 500 and now your back over 500 you gained weight
I honestly think this is the third new doctor now. Every doctor for the last decade has told her she needed to comply with the mandatory psychological evaluation and treatment process which she NEVER was able to do it. Her trolling and lying is killing her
The type of surgery she’s getting is a type of duodenal switch. It is very intense, and while I think it could do very well for her, it’s one of the most painful ones you can have and has some of the biggest side effects. I can see a worldview where she ends up bedridden if this happens because I don’t think her pain tolerance is great. She’d going to get super sick if she ever binges with that. I do think the big secret is that she switched surgical groups for the sake of getting a faster timeline, but realistically, I don’t think they’re actually giving her faster timeline. If she doesn’t lose weight and do well in therapy, they are going to push the timeline further and further. So 3 - 4 months is possible, but not necessarily likely.
I don’t think amber wants to get better with therapy. She’s playing a character incase those office ppl seek her out on social media, bc I’m SURE big Al doesn’t go a time without telling someone she’s “internet famous”

Honestly it’s sad she’s surpassed 520 again, she’s just yo-yoing the same weight over and over, we’ll talk when w see her break 420 atp. Also, I think she’s desperate to cling to her hair, it’s like her security blanket and hates having hair fall out but that’s natural w age it falls out tbh. I’m 25 and i get a lot of stray hairs come out with brushing everyday, and tbh brushing long hair often prevents knotting and more hair falling out.

I’ve heard from a lot of people that it is actually pretty common to happen during weight loss surgery. Obvi never had either surgery myself so I couldn’t say for sure
I had gastric bypass and my wife had the sleeve. Both of us were offered to have our gallbladder removed on surgery day as a lot of people need it removed after surgery. We decided not to and so far so good.

So I started my WLS process within the same week as ALR. I’ve found it crazy how different our “journeys” have been. While she’s about no different than where she started, I completed all pre-op requirements within 6 weeks. All appointments, all approvals, weight loss goals met, everything. My biggest wait has been insurance approving the prior authorization… They sent two denial letters in the last month requesting more info, and I was starting to feel so defeated…
But I just got my approval letter today! 🙌😭
I’ll finally get to schedule my surgery and hopefully get it done within this next month so long as there’s availability with my surgeon!

I think her new surgeon is dr smith from 1000 pound sisters- he is in Lexington Kentucky and the scale she stepped on is the one Tammy used in his office. Also she claims she’s in a rush to see the doctor but her first surgeon was hours away in another state. If she had to travel hours she wouldn’t be rushing to leave she would get there hours early. And all of a sudden her surgeon went from being a woman to overnight becoming a man!!!
I think you're right. She use to be so wishy-washy with weightloss surgery but all of a sudden she wants it and wants it in a few months. I'm convinced she's only doing this because Tammy was approved. So using the same Dr. Is fitting to me.

Yes I use her as a “what could happen” and I’ve got myself into the right head space so since Jan 1st I’m down 16kg (35lb) just a little more to go to reach my goal (I was nowhere near her weight though!!🤣) and I am NEVER going back to my destructive eating habits. This is for life!

It frustrates me, because youtube, as a career, doesn't often last long enough to make you independently wealthy. It CAN, mrbeast and many others have proven that it's possible. It's also possible to climb Mt Everest to the summit, but most people will never be able to do it, even if they try really hard. Like, as a content creator myself, I suspect I'll never even get as big as Amberlynn. But if I got even a fifth (idk random number) of her income, you can bet your sweet ass, I'd be babying every penny toward the place I hope to be in the future.
The fact that it never occurred to her to invest the money she made into something that could prepare her for her next stage of life, like an education or a business outside of content creation, horrifies me. Every cent I get that I don't need for immediate survival needs, goes directly toward the future. Also, sure, she might have had a future as a media editor based on her VAST youtube career, but she NEVER FUCKING BOTHERED TO LEARN TO EDIT! Zach even tried to help her! I had no help, and I learned my tools within ONE WEEK. Motivation. Seriously. She needs more of that.
I actually don't hate Amberlynn at all. I'm not an Ambaby. I clearly see how she gets in her own way and takes others along for the ride. But I DO think it's mostly subconscious. I don't think she was ever properly raised to be an adult, and I hate that for her. I just wish she'd just HAND HER LIFE OVER to someone who could get her caught up. Because if she were more pro-social and functional, she'd be a class A content creator. Her weight wouldn’t mean anything if they did an internal/pelvic ultrasound to see the gallbladder.

If I still had to do it, I would make sure she has not eaten for 8 hours or more, have her lay flat and have both arms over her head and take multiple deep breaths in as I take ultrasound images. ALR admittedly doesn't brush her hair regularly, so the regular shedding that occurs each day builds up and comes out all at once making her think its because her hair is wet, but it's because she doesn't take care of her hair.

And yep, the shedding was a lot more at the once a week washing. Needless to say, I could only tolerate once a week for about 2 months. 😂
your hair really is more prone to breaking when brushing wet, it's more flexible and that has something to do with it. there's brushes for combing your hair when wet nowadays though.

Its true that hair are more prone to damage when wet, but generally if you have curly hair it’s better to brush them wet. Also, if you put some conditioner and brush them it will not only prevent damage but also help conditioner to work better (of course you need to wash it after if it’s not leave on).

She completely is missing the point of therapy. The way she explained it was terrible. The therapy is a necessity to address the issues she has that brought her to the point she’s at, so that after the surgery she doesn’t completely undo everything by not addressing the core issue and potentially seriously harm herself. I don’t have faith she can be successful with this unless she truly changes her mindset.

ok this a completely personal experience and I am not saying she should also be this way but once I fixed my relationship with food (struggled with BED and bulimia) through extensive therapy (therapy, psychiatry, physiotherapy, medicine) and a lot of work, other people's opinions on what I was eating, the size of the portions, my physical activity etc, did not matter to me whatsoever. of course her audience is bigger and she is getting a lot of negativity which I understand can be overwhelming, but if she truly has been working on her relationship with food in therapy etc, I don't think she would be this defensive and pressed in almost every video. she seems extremely insecure and constantly needs to tell us how professionals are on her side etc. if you're secure and know you're doing what's right for you, people's comments no matter how loud just simply don't matter. I have a bunch of relatives and family members telling me I eat too much or work out too little/too easy, but I know I'm healthy and happy, I worked through all my issues with professionals, so I don't care at all, and they could never change me. idk just a thought.

I’m 5’2” and weigh 160, I’m considered obese on my medical chart. Amber will never be 160 pounds!!
My morbidly obese narcissistic mother had WLS. Lost some weight but was still morbidly obese because her starting weight was so high; then, she regained some. Despite objective facts, she BELIEVES she is a Skinny Legend™️ who can tell everyone how successful and amazing and healthy she is.
So basically now shes rushing to get the surgery she always said she didnt want because Tammy has lost a LOT of weight. 🙄
Also if she was told to wait a year because of her binge eating and then shes changed drs and not told them about it then the WLS is not going to work.
She has been so salty about Tammy, making comments that it’s easier for Tammy because she was in-patient and because Tammy’s starting weight was bigger than Amber’s highest weight.
Now Tammy is more mobile than ever and on her way to get skin removal surgery as a great mark of her progress.

The combing your hair wet thing: I’m black so results may vary but if I don’t run a paddle brush through my hair, it is a NIGHTMARE to do it dry. It gets so tangled and I pull more hair out doing that than when it’s wet. My hair is also natural so it’s way easier to untangle while it’s wet than when I used to process it.
Also, I hate how she always tries to act like she’s being such an altruist about her journey. She’s been on this platform for like 10 years and has yet to do the right thing. But now she’s an expert on everything and is putting in the work as if she always has. People are obviously going to be skeptical. Because she gives up the second anything gets mildly difficult.

It is very intense, and while I think it could do very well for her, it’s one of the most painful ones you can have and has some of the biggest side effects. I can see a worldview where she ends up bedridden if this happens because I don’t think her pain tolerance is great. She’d going to get super sick if she ever binges with that. I do think the big secret is that she switched surgical groups for the sake of getting a faster timeline, but realistically, I don’t think they’re actually giving her faster timeline. If she doesn’t lose weight and do well in therapy, they are going to push the timeline further and further. So 3 - 4 months is possible, but not necessarily likely.
I don’t think amber wants to get better with therapy. She’s playing a character incase those office ppl seek her out on social media, bc I’m SURE big Al doesn’t go a time without telling someone she’s “internet famous”

Honestly it’s sad she’s surpassed 520 again, she’s just yo-yoing the same weight over and over, we’ll talk when w see her break 420 atp. Also, I think she’s desperate to cling to her hair, it’s like her security blanket and hates having hair fall out but that’s natural w age it falls out tbh. I’m 25 and i get a lot of stray hairs come out with brushing everyday, and tbh brushing long hair often prevents knotting and more hair falling out.

I’ve heard from a lot of people that it is actually pretty common to happen during weight loss surgery. Obvi never had either surgery myself so I couldn’t say for sure
I had gastric bypass and my wife had the sleeve. Both of us were offered to have our gallbladder removed on surgery day as a lot of people need it removed after surgery. We decided not to and so far so good.

ALR could use her channel to help others going through WLS by showing how she builds a shopping list, showing recipes for an entire day on foods that she can eat, showing healthy alternatives to unhealthy food but i guess that would take too much effort and positive energy for ALR
