This is the best video yet! Ben it was so much fun to ride along. Jenny is hilarious. But I have to say as your little sister and as Jenny’s aunt, but I am very nervous about you driving with the dog around! Yeah I know she’s having a great time. It just seems too dangerous. Keep making great videos. Helps us all live life a little bigger

Ya I know. Were very carful. She started doing that when we go quading. She usually stays in front. If I don’t see her i stop.

That road washed out in 2013. Another trail developed but it was hard to do with the jeeps plus you had to cross the river twice one been a deep crossi g. If ever a forest fire in the area it made getting out of there hard or impossible for some so in the Spring 2016 I smoothed out the edges of that crossing where the road washed out and we did the first pass in Jeep JK. It was s bit sketchy for a couple years but easy now. I did it last summer in my truck in 2wd no problem.
As for running the dog that is a bad road to do that on. First of all there are usually quads/sxs's travelling at higher speeds so chances your dog will get run over are high, also Grizzly bears pass through that road here and there so that would not be a good situation for your dog.
That "campsite" you rolled up on was at Mile 12 Cabin staging are and there used to be a cabin there. When the Cheviot mine opened up in 2004 they moved the staging area for quads that used to be at Mountain Park where the mine is now. They knocked down that cabin for some stupid reason and made that beautiful meadow look like a WW1 trench ware fare zone... Locals were not at all happy about it and in all the years if camped in the area last year during covid was the first time I ever saw anyone camped there lol.
Those washrooms were all shot to hell years ago so not sure if that was random or someone else that was pissed off because they made such a terrible campsite. It may look like a nice campground to an out of towner but you had to see how nice it was before. We stayed in the cabin one time on a winter quading trip and froze the whole time as it just had a cook stove in there not an actual woodstove.

When looking at Google maps is this road called the cardinal River road ? Or is this the one that goes straight west of candomin ?

what would you recommend for navigating the many roads in this area, interested in exploring the various roadbed areas either side of the main routes like PR 40
