I guess auto captions don’t know what LANs are lmao. Land parties would be fun though.

So did you bring your TV too a lan party? The tvs back then were like 100 pounds. I never went to one just wondering how you'd have your tvs

We brought our own tvs if needed. It was a pain lugging the CRTs lol

Spot on. Finally, i hear someone talk about the nostalgia the way i experience it.
And I try really hard to tell myself, the current day that you are in right now WILL be the "good old days" someday. Enjoy it now while you can.
    Thank you for this video.

It's weird that my life is objectively good now, maybe even better than back then, but I still look back fondly to that same time period of the mid 2000's. Another strange thing to think about is, in 20 or 30 years I'll probably look back to this time of my life right now nostalgically

Not sure where I heard this quote, but it goes something like your life is a car and the past is like a rear view mirror, good for glancing behind, but it’s dangerous to look at it from too long, so be sure to keep focusing on the road to enjoy the ride

Every one of your videos absolutely hits home, but your views really have me rethinking the way I approach things, because for me its a little closer to 50/50. While I would never give up my current life to go back, I still find myself staring all too often. And it can lead me to feeling guilty for getting so caught up in the past or dreading the future that when I take a step back it seems like I've been neglecting to give enough of myself and my presence to those I love currently. To feel like you're really there and that you're appreciating the people and things around you is such a sobering feeling.

It’s tough for sure. I find myself looking back a bit too often as well.

I quit modern gaming and indie games don't interest me. But the nostalgia of playing through Halo and Doom has me hooked and I've been trying to better myself for years. I need help man.

Man I’ve been kinda dipping in and out of my nostalgia for the last 7 months. It stated when video games or music clicks memories or whatever in my brain that makes me look back and reflect on my life very young. I was born in 1999 so I grew up mostly into the 2000s and 2010s. The 2000s were a particular time for when social media was chill, UA-cam was a new thing, video games were casual, etc. You see how I’m describing the Canva with neat colors? It sucks and it’s a blessing that I got to go through that tumultuous time.
Music and video games are big triggers & factors into my nostalgia because my senses were active and great. Whenever I hear an Offspring song, it brings me to like 2008 when I saw my brother watching a Dragon Ball AMV with the song Staring at the Sun playing. Same thing with Halo 2 and 3, Halo CE I was 3 or 4 when I played it so I can barely recall but Halo 2 and 3 were when I was in elementary and my brother and I used to play them a lot co-op. Such a euphoric state.
Now I try not to dwell too much into the past because despite how much I’m struggling to find a job and being a college graduate for the last two years, I have to keep reminding myself that things will get better. I am focusing on my channel, taking care of myself, spending time with family, etc. Nostalgia is such a powerful concept and a scapegoat to get into from how things are in 2024. Easy to get quenched into it rather than stay away. I think social media has dwelled too much into looking at the past and being enriched, whether that’s sequels, reboots, remakes, that we tend to forget what makes them great at the first place. Don’t let Nostalgia ruin your perception of life because you may lose it. Stay safe, thanks for the video.

Out of curiosity; you mentioned looking back on the past fondly. Do you ever pook back at it fondly yet sadly and depressed that those times will never return? I have that a lot.

Sometimes. Aging is a tough thing to accept at times. I do miss the carefree nature of my life back then sometimes.
