I understand that no one lives forever, but not too many people are lucky enough to see 100. Now, Glynis Johns can rest easy knowing that she achieved that milestone. You will be missed massively.
It seems more people are living to 100 these days than ever before. 70s TV producer Norman Lear just died at 101. I think Jimmy Carter will make it to 100 too.
For those who don't know, it was Glynis Johns who introduced the song "Send In The Clowns" which had be written for her by Stephen Sondheim for her role in the original Broadway production of "A Little Night Music".
@@Former_Pastor I agree with you, Judy Collins' version of the song is a classic. HOWEVER, I think that you are comparing apples and oranges. Theatrical singing is a very different animal. I don't know if you ever had the thrill of witnessing her performance. It was electric! HOWEVER,
Thank you for that loving interview and report. We cannot live in our bodies forever but legends like Glynis do live on in their work, and she was wonderful.
Always remembered her as the Suffragette in Mary Poppins. The "Our daughter's daughters will adore us" was a good ode to the movement. RIP Condolences to her loved ones.
I really liked Glynis Johns. I saw her in lots of roles when I was growing up. She always brought a beautiful brightness to her roles, that was just unique to her. And her one-of-a-kind voice was a delight! She had a good, long, creative life and made a lot of people happy in her delightful characters.💖🙏🏻✨

I must show "Mary Poppins" to my niece and nephews. They've seen "Mary Poppins Returns", but not the 1964 film. Hopefully they'll love it. I did when I first watched it.
Betty White and Bob Barker at 99 were so close but this was the newest celebrity i knew to make it 100 since Kirk Douglas.I wondered if she was in a movie after While You Were Sleeping cause i remember that movie well.
Rip to a lovely and beautiful woman young and old. My condolences to her family and all the best. Glad she made something out of her 100 years of life. God bless.
I loved her in the two charming British comedies about a mischievous mermaid named Miranda. Her performance in the poignant drama All Mine to Give was also memorable.
I first saw Mary Poppins on its original release sat on my mother's lap when I was 2. I have seen it many many times since. Such a wonderful film. I'm in my 60s now and still love it, and so Glynis Johns has literally been there throughout my life! RIP Glynis.
She was yet another underrated performer. I loved her in a lot of movies. Not only for Mary Poppins as Mrs Banks but she was great in movie with Jackie Gleason as his wife called Papas Delicate condition and in the original An Ideal Husband as the young daughter. She will be sorely missed. 91 credits to her name! Not too shabby at all.
She came across as a wonderful woman, and I wish her peace. My condolences to her friends and relatives. In that final interview you could still see her spirit and enthusiasm, and that her mind was still full of life. I'm glad she got to be vibrant right up to the end.
Loved her. Fabulous speaking voice and a seemingly joyous person. Am I the only person who recalls her having a t.v. show briefly…say, back in the late 1950’s or early 1960’s? I’m sure that’s how I came to know about her when I was a child. May she rest in peace.
