Thanks Tony. Because of you, I've approached the practice sessions with a new creative passion. Definitely has been a confidence builder and I'm enjoying the development like when I was a kid. Meeting you has been an invaluable experience. All the best...
Thanks again Tony! The tracks are so helpful, of course along with your great breakdown of the changes!! I'm feeling better about my practice sessions with these!
First off, humblest of apologies for the bollocks I sent you on Patreon mate. I panicked. So used to the formalistic way of learning from my early training as a sculptor. But this is jazz and I just needed to step back and think about it. I’m away again. This is great for me with my improv. Something I worked out on Blue Bossa is using an F min pentatonic scale over the DbM works well especially chucking in a bit a bluesy run. Cheers maestro, I’ll never annoy you again.
You have never annoyed me Zuie and I apologize if I gave you that impression. That is a good penta to use on DbM. A Cm penta also works and adds some exotic color. Didn't know you were sculptor. I love the visual arts - recently went to a great exhibit of A. Calder.
@@TonyWinston I didn’t mean it like that mate, far from it, you’re an inspirational teacher. I got a bit overwhelmed by the astonishing level of content and output you provide. Just needed to take a deep breath and dive back in. I can’t believe how far I’ve come since I found your site. Your teaching method and advice is first class. Z
Hey Tony.. re trigger finger; Do you have Dupuytrens contraction? Fancy name for similar ailments I guess. Any case I had it and went an alternative route rather than surgery involving an injection that released the pressure of the cords on the tendon. I know.. this is not a medical site but was just curious. Hope it gets better for you. Great channel
Ah yes well best luck on your recovery. BTW I’m a pro semi retired sax player / frustrated keyboardist…your straight ahead approach to teaching is invaluable especially since I’m really digging in to my keyboard skills. Thank you!
Check out Dudley Moore playing this. it's on : Dudley Moore with Jimmy Witherspoon BBC on here. about 6.48 he jokingly says it must have been written by a piano tuner! (well Tony, I'm getting better on piano. nowhere near your level but a lot better!)
Thanks Tony.. lots of clarity and some great improvisation ideas. It’s one of those pieces that’s gives limitless right hand impro options 😊

My man, Tony Winston thinking what i am thinking again. Thanks old chap!
Tony, I really appreciate all that you share and your easy manner. Learned a lot from listening to your improv stylings and rootless progressions.
@@ColinHowell-cz5gu thanks Colin!

May I know why sometimes the keyboard that lights up is missing a note? It aint too big of a problem, but I'm just curious!😅
I add the lighted keyboard afterwards and focus on the Left Hand
Hope you will be all rigth thanks for one note samba

B7(#11)? I think B7(b5) is the common nomenclature.
Same thing in my mind. b5 is more to the point!
Sorry Sir, I’m curious and also a Doctor, what about your finger ?
I think it might be an injury from some serious road rage. :-) But of course I have no idea.
I had an operation to fix trigger finger. I'm 98% recovered. Thanks for asking!
Very nice.
