He uses a lot of flamenco technique in his 90's/2000's playing. It's a Spanish guitar style but the way he incorporates it into the bass is just absolutely serene
its heartbreaking to think that this concert is in june 1997 and Neil's daughter would die in August 10th.....I am reading Ghost Rider a hard yet beautiful book about loss and hope.
Snowdog You are so right my friend!! But the legacy of Rush hasn't aged a day to me... I'll ALWAYS be suspended in that young man state of mind that was simply "mesmerized" by this band, and the product that was seemingly impossible to play!!
Man... I wish they’d release this full concert. I have the R40 box set but this song, nor Resist or Natural Science or Closer To The Heart (the Different Stages video) wasn’t included.
+Emmanuel Hidd the whole show is available on the now out of print 3 disc Different Stages album. It's this whole show (only 2112 is from a different one as it had better quality) on 2 disc and a bonus gig from 1978 on the third one
The best three piece band to ever play on this Earth period!
Animate is one of the best songs Rush ever made !!! Incredible !!!! Fantastic !!!!
No one is talking about how incredible these drums sound??
Imo his best sounding DWs.
I’ll do one better: check out how hard Neil is hitting at 5:14...with an elbow brace, no less! Man, I miss him!
Drum I learned to play 🙏
A tip: watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Soren Landon Definitely, I have been using flixzone} for since november myself :D
The incredible sound of the drums goes without saying!!!
These 3 guys... My fucking heroes. There will be nothing like them ever again, they were truly a phenomenon.
Geddy´s picking technique it is an art by itself.....

@@superslayerguy so natural always fitting with the context of the song....not of the sake of showing off technique....
God's favourite band!
Canadas rockin trio! R.I.P. Professor Peart!
'Counterparts' it's my favorite 90's albums ever, after '2112' and 'Hemispheres' on the 70's and 'Moving Pictures' on the 80's.
LONG LIVE RUSH!!!
Que músicos tan maravillosos, NP extraordinario❤❤❤❤❤ los extraño 😢
a unique groove, one of their best,,
Very sad to remember that this concert is just a few days before tragedy struck in our hero's life.
But it was awesome to see these guys at probably their best they ever were before tragedy struck. Can't tell me any other band was ever better.
God bless Neil!!! ❤❤❤
Way better than any video from R40... 💪
It's sad, it seemed like the newer the live album, the worse the sound quality/mixing.
Test for Echo was when they were at their best. Just on fire 🔥
My favorite band in the world
Best sound quality of all Rush live on youtube!
Guitar is amazing !!!!!
Thank you Neil for drum pounding us into the Eternal Never Ending Unseen Realm !!!!!
Wow they were lethal here !

The sound on this is fantastic 👍

It's hard to believe that this 20 years ago....

Sick.
Very rare bum note from Geddy at 00:19
He doesn't play the right note during the changes. Hey, it's picking nits, though!
Amazing show!!
Bobebuzz Steele EYE WAS AT THIS ONE
Pratt beating the eff out of those drums
Where do I find this entire gig for downloading? Is that possible?
I hope so :D
Emmanuel Hidd The whole show hasn't been released yet, I think about half of it is on the R40 "extras" disc.
sgtpepper1138 hmm I see! Thank you for it :D
+Emmanuel Hidd the whole show is available on the now out of print 3 disc Different Stages album. It's this whole show (only 2112 is from a different one as it had better quality) on 2 disc and a bonus gig from 1978 on the third one
oh nice :)) I'll try to find it out!
Many thanks!
Wrong, the show at Different Strings is from Chicago '97 (mostly)
Wierd note: The beginning of this video shows a daytime clip of the audience, after the band is shown, it's suddenly night.
they are aliens from outer space !!! some kind of god ! real genius musicians !!!
Wow, that sucked 🤪
