Nissan announced they have purchased Renault's stake in the company and are now going to be strictly Nissan a Japanese auto company which is the smartest move they have made in some time. The Pathfinder CVT was removed in favor of a traditional automatic so I think Nissan is working on getting back to their old quality they once had. Now they need to dump the Nissan name and go back to Datsun and get the legendary quality they used to have back.

If they do as you say, Nissan will definitely be on my next car buying list. My first car was a used 1972 Datsun 510. It was a monster. Then a 1977 Datsun B210, then a 1981 Datsun SX200 and lastly a 1987 Nissan pathfinder. I never had a single issue with any of them.

Yes sir Datsun was on par with Toyota and Nissan up unto around the year 2000 then quality issues started appearing and then the dreaded CVT was introduced. I want to see small trucks like the Hardbody again. Reasonably priced with long life and great reliability. @@ericpizarro3084

The Datsun 510 was a poor man's BMW. Years ago I knew a mechanic who rallied 510s at Mossport. RIP NICK....He told me he was driving south on the 400 a d was going 140 mph . He saw flashing lites way back in his mirror....the OPP was chasing him. The cop couldn't beleive that a little 4 banger could be that quick. Nick told me if he had a 5th gear it would have been even faster. It was at redline when going 140 mph. I had a ride in a 510 with Koni shocks and P7 tires. Those 510s were incredible cars. Sadly, Nissan got left behind in Toyota and Hondas wake.

@@mikefoehr235 mine also had some caffeine in the engine! Let me tell you the one thing that all of us having that little Munster will do as a start. Because the 510 was the ONLY rear wheel drive car with springs on the back wheels in the 70, we would buy the big Chevy impala springs, cut them and install them with lots of modifications so that when we would do the pull the car wouldn’t got sock as the OEM springs will bring the car down for 0.5 seconds. However because of this unique suspension on the 510 those cars will handle second to none. Yes it was the best car I ever had. The SX 200 was also a super fast car. If I am not mistaken that was the very first 2.4 liter Japanese engine. Maybe I am wrong.

I got the 2023 Toyota Carolla SE Hybrid, mainly due to the fact I am a rideshare driver and work for a catering company. So, I am on the road often driving within the city. I would have opted for the Camry hybrid, but the payments were too high for me to make. The Prius was also more expensive. Same story there. I don't think anyone thinks of Corolla when they hear fun car. It's practical, very little issue. That's what Corolla buyers expect.

Sold a 2012 Soul recently at 95,000 miles. Was about to need some engine work and the suspension and steering bushings were needing replacement. But it was bought a a good price point and reliable up to that point. Our major complaint wasn't styling or lack of a sunroof - it was meant to be an inexpensive get-around vehicle. It was the mileage. Unexpectedly low, and the Feds spanked them in court for it. We received a debit card with about $600 as a result.

The fact that your only “gripe” on the Corolla is that for “a few thousand” more you can get a Camry speaks volumes. The Corolla is a reliable low priced basic car. Sure when you move up from the base model and up again you’re touching Camry territory, but the fact is many people can’t afford or don’t want to spend those extra thousands. Good effort though and you’ve definitely listed some duds.

The most grief I've ever experienced with any car is with a Ford. I will never own a Ford product, unless It's a Volvo until the day I die... Great driving experience but a nightmare to own, just to change an alternator you have jack up the engine almost 10 inches. It's like the engineers never taught about that thing breaks, like putting a rubber 3 inch connector from the crank to the already cursed alternator nightmare. Thanks for the video and you have a great sense of humor, you get tongue in cheek like few other UA-camrs out there. God bless you and lots of love from Norway...
edit: My experience with GM products are waaay better than the Ford products, like who would do a cambelt in oil bath that are so difficult and expensive to convert to chain it can total a 7 year old car? GM has serious problems too, but compared to my latest Ford ownership experience, it can't be as bad. Last time i owned a GM product was probably something produced in the early to mid 00's, so no experience with new GM products. But my main GM love was with Opels here in Europe produced from early 70's with the Ascona and Kadett, to the first gen Vectra and Calibra and of course the Manta is an ICON, the GT/E Kadett and Manta and later the GSi Manta, Kadett and Astra 1'st gen.....
Now that Opel is owned by Stellantis, I would never buy on past experiences, but Peugeot was one of the best cars of ALL time with the 504 and the 505, I've owned a 505 diesel and if it was not for rust, I would still be driving that comfort machine to this day, wonderful car with great engineering....Road noise and a modern power train being the only things new cars do better.....

About sunroofs. I had a Subaru Outback Wagon with the huge sunroof on it. If it was out in the cold weather, that large piece of glass gets very cold, water condenses on the inside of the glass and drips off into the interior. Mold follows and the nice leather interior started a nice large mold colony on it. Wasn't rain leaking in, it was condensation as I wasn't driving it daily as it sucked gas and ate tires like no other car I have ever owned. It averaged 22 MPG and tires were gone in 20k miles. I have a VW now, that on its best days gets 40 plus MPG and no drippy leaky sun roof to deal with. I am sure this guy would hate my VW interior, no leather but the seats are heated and that fake leather the Subaru had doesn't peel off the backing. Have a nice day.

Well no duh the Chrysler Pacifica is the worst vehicle Chrysler makes. At the same time it is also the best that Chrysler makes. Why? Because as of Monday (12/11/23) Chrysler no longer makes anything besides just the Pacifica now. I can't think of any other car brand that makes just 1 single vehicle (well besides Bugatti).

You can even see the customers comments from GM dealerships, many complaints about brand new cars after owning them 6-12 months, unacceptable. I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️ how the newer models are but it’s clearly an issue. It’s the eco tech engine. I’m don’t understand how GMC gets away with this. I’m waiting on a class action suit to happen in my state. I see it happening in other states but not mine at the moment

Hinda, mazda ,and old fords. Ive worked on cars for 20 years, and those are mine that have had well over 300k and ran good because i maintain them well..my last Honda had about 360k and ran exellent...my 6 spd civic SI has a little over 300k and runs exellent...my ex wife had an orange 09 5 spd hinda fit sport that had like 250k when she got something bigger...we both loved that car .exellent ,reliable car with a ton of cargo room...my friend has a 2010 6 spd standard mazda 3 with about 286k thats never had a major issue...my f150 has about 265k and runs fine...ect ect...these arent even our only high milage cars and trucks...toyota isnt the only reliable one....infact, now, theyre not nearly as reliable...
