  • Is the Hawk 150 the best bang for the buck for a midsize trail bike? We Compare the Hawk 150 to my Shark 250, and hit the trails.
    Bike can be bought at Powersportsmax.com
    The Hawk 150/250 Use the same bottom end, just different size top ends. The shark is the odd duck and has a counterbalance. These engines are a clone of the Honda GG150.
    Specs.
    -$949 new (May 2021)
    -150cc air cooled 4 stroke
    -27mm? Carb
    -Kick only
    -5 speed manual
    -Chain drive
    -Disk brakes front and rear
    -Off road tires
    -Top speed-53MPH
    -Great, small size trail bike.
    Cons.
    -Not street legal
    -No headlight or tail light

    Hawks and Viper bikes are exactly the same bikes they are called Viber Xpros 150 also!!! We didn't really have to reject the carburetor we just had to take the plug out from under the carburetor where the air jet is and put a new longer air too fuel mixture jet screw in and it solved the bogging hesitations the Idler screw!! Dim bugs are worked out but we are going to put a 13 tooth cog on the motor for pulling so it will have quicker bottom 150cc Chinese 13.5HP you can get more power out of them if you do a carburetor and carburetor boot upgrade!! With an exhaust and manifold port and polish!! Don't forget to upgrade the motor oil because what comes in on factory is pretty much burnt Grease!! China oil!! USA brand wet clutch protection Motor oil is a indefinite needed upgrade to these bikes!! Good luck!! Okay!!! 👍👍👍

    I'm going down one tooth on the front hawk is 839 now plus shipping it will b a little quicker from the line i don't care if i lose 3 or 5 MPH

    Just got mine put together . Fired it up after checking oil and putting in gas and smoke is coming off the outside of engine , is this normal?

      @@danielsimpson2814 I’d say so, it’s probably just the paint. It’ll do that for a few rides. Do some heat cycles, go easy at first, let it cool down, ride again a little harder, do lots of engine breaking where you just accelerate and decelerate, that will break in the rings well.

      Yes, any new rider would be comfortable on it. Even the 250 unless you're a short person.

      Nice! They are fun if you're not worried about being street legal and just want to ride trails, lightweight. The only issue he had so far was when we popped the tube. He wanted better throttle response so he has been changing the jetting but he will be getting a better carb. Otherwise its worth the money. You can buy an older bike that's similar but you can find parts for these easier. basically any china knock off parts are OEM for these.

    How does it do on BIG hills when trail climbing. This vid dont do justice cause that other bike couldt do the hills im wondering about.

      Need to be in first, not much torque compared to the shark, and even that doesn't have much torque. We will have more videos on it but needs carb work right now haha.

      It would will have more torque if it had at least a 13 tooth cog on the front of the engine!! Would give it a lot more torque!! THEY have 13.5HP engines!! I know!! I am late on getting to this subject but I seen your question about the torque on hills!! These are not bad bikes you just got to know what to do to working out the Kanks with these Chinese bikes!! For the money they are worth it!! They make a great starter bike for 12 to 13 year old teenagers!! I'm 43 years old and I would buy one for my self!! Where I live we can ride utvs and ATVs on the road!! And dirt bikes legally!! Just have to have a license or at least 21 what is ID so if you ever get pulled over they know your residence!! It's best to have it full coverage insurance on whatever you have anyways!!!👌🔔🔥🙌👍👍

      Hi.i bought xpro 150 about 4 months ago.bike comes with a 9hp engine if it's the old style horizontal head.replaced carb with a nibi 26.much better torque off the line.got mine plated in lake havasu Arizona. No problem .engine should have more hp for the size that it is.hp stats came with the paper work. Big disappointment when I read the bill of laden.no top end speed.still a great light bike to ride on the desert trails at a cheap price.

    hey i have a question i got a xpro hawk 150 and i can start it up and stuff it will ride for a good lil minute but then cut off sometimes it’s get Boggy , i changed the carburetor , i clean the oil filter and drained the gas to see if it was clogged then i’ll let it cool down again and try to turn it on again and sometimes it will turn on but it will ride for a few but stop again if anyone knows how to fix it or have idea what’s the problem help a brother out mane 😂 i got 5 dirt bikes and they never been all out at the same times it’s always one or the other fucking up lmao

      Check your idle screw adjustments along with your throttle cable tension !

      The dual sports have keys, the hawk 150 does not, just a kill switch.

    Always try to get the handlebars and front fender and tire in the video footage bub. Otherwise all we see is the trail n that's it. Boring to watch.

      Yeah i know what you mean because you can't tell what bike I'm on, but my next video I had it too far down and you can't see where I'm going haha. I'm getting it figured out. Plan on getting a china bike? I would recommend the brozz over the shark or hawk if you're looking at a 250cc.

    I have one the same x pro 150cc but i put the gas all the way down and it starts leaking alot what does that mean

      Floats are not adjusted or the float needle is not sealing. Probably an easy fix. Clean it, make sure the needle is clean, floats should sit level with the base of the carb while holding the carb upside down. Good luck!

      @@emfelling8384 yes, I original started making videos when I rebuilt the engine and the performance mods I did, but now I have a chance to make a better, shorter video with better lighting so I think I'll just do that. Might be a while. Working on my old ski doo and cr125 wheels right now.

      10w40 cheap motorcycle oil from fleet farm. I ran Lucas and it was harder to find neutral but it's hard to find anyway. It's not worth running expensive synthetic when you have to change it every 300 miles.

      10W-40 Valvoline wet clutch protection at Walmart $6-$8 all depends on what state you live in!! Always use wet clutch protection motorcycle ATV Oils!! Because you don't want your clutches being ruined by regular Car motor oils car oils dries up the motorcycle clutches!! Always run wet clutch ATV or motorcycle oils!! Good luck 👍👍

      They usually need adjustments, I got lucky with the shark and never had to change anything. If you have issues just get a whole different/better carb because you can't even adjust these without drilling holes, cutting rivets just to get the bowl off, they are goofy.

    I have same bike. But it engine pops when I try to kick. And takes forever to starts. It pops mostly when I rev the engine and try to start bike again.

      ​​​​​​@@rochakkunwar953You need to get a PZ27 or the PZ28 carburetor that has the Air too Fuel mixture adjustment screw in the bottom of the carburetor if you have the ProX 150cc hawk or viper!! If you see a cap looking at the bottom of your PZ27 take it out of your carburetor and you'll see the air too fuel mixture adjustment screw!! It will save you money!!Good luck!!!

    my main concern getting this bike is, if something were to happen to the engine where would I find the replacement parts to fix the engine or replacement the entire engine

      There are a few parts websites, and a lot of your ebay china parts are actually OEM on these things, like master cylinders for example. As far as the engine, I know there are kits for the 250, I'll look into what's out there for the 150. As long as you can find pistons you can just re-bore since it's just a steel cylinder.

      @@123soscraftsgaming7 if it bolts up and the combustion chamber is the same size, and the timing chain or push rods work then yeah. But won't know for sure until you match them up. I'll see what I can find. But some ebay kits don't give much info at all.

      @@chandrasampson3260 they run lean stock, if you up your jetting it runs a little better and can add power. Most people aren't happy with how they run so they will get a better air filter and exhaust and change jetting or get a better carb. These carbs are not made to be tampered with.

      Yup! Both run good. Seven years and I've never cleaned my carb. Buddy bought a hawk 250 last spring and he upgraded the carb right away because it didn't run good. So maybe it's hit and miss. Use a nibbi or OKO 26-28mm and spend time getting it set and you'll be happy with it vs the stock junk carb. I think I just got lucky.
