I always give my cat a substance what I am on. To make my cat feels more like me, the omnipotent mycelium. However, I can some times experience bad trips, when I realize that I have no cat, and the cat is me.

I was the trip sitter for my friend who wanted to do acid for his first time. It was going well for the first few hours but he started freaking out over his parents. No matter what I said it didn't calm him down. I hugged him for over 2 hours while he sobbed into my shirt. Once he felt better I made him a fruit tray, and we then colored for the rest of his trip.

  • @primarypenguin

I highly reccomend, as a trip sitter, to be as confident, casually compassionate, and happy as possible. I've found that when i'm tripping and a sober person is staring at me saying things like "do you feel it yet? are you okay? do you see stuff?" it would really freak me out no matter how well I knew the person. I think the best thing is to just casually hang out with them, don't look at the tripping person any differently than you normally would, and be as casual as possible. Be like "hey pass the doritos, bro" and even casually joke with them. Basically, I think the best thing is do not outwardly act any differently, while at the same time being very aware of what is going on and everybody's wellbeing. And if any problems do arise, be super compassionate and understanding and not-judgmental in the least. The judgement is the worst part for a most people. Theyre already encountering a lot while tripping, and you only want to make things easier and more pleasant. just my opinion.

Dealing with high people is like dealing with a confused kid (or mentally disabled person). In the sense that you need to stay as calm as possible, open-minded, and to remember that they can be way more affected by the ambiance (or even themes of discussion) than you.
If they're all happy and intense, you should encourage them. If they're very calm and cozy, you should avoid interacting too much, let them live the moment. If they're horny and all, well you still have the right to set your personal boundaries, but don't be too intense if you have to push them away, be gentle. And if they're angry or sad, don't try to go too deep woth words with them, and instead, you should try to help them through more subtle things like changing the music and lighting to help them get in a better zone.

Just something to add, if you are going to take LSD or Shrooms and you're type 1 diabetic. due to a reduced appetite you may eventually have dangerously low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) So make sure you have drinks with sugar in them such as monster or lucozade to avoid low blood sugar. But also have water around as drinking to much of this drinks can be dangerous for diabetics. I suggest having a few mouth fulls every hour to 2 hours to make sure your bloods stay round the 7 to 10 mark.

I can't trip, I have a psychotic disorder meaning I'm prone to psychosis (Bipolar 1). However I find tripping fascinating and often trip sit for my friends (even though Ive never experienced a psychedelic before) This video was extremely helpful, my friends had the time of there lives last night (it was there first trip) and it went super-well, I cannot thank this video (and this channel) enough. Ive also come to learn that a 5 minute sober walk is a 30 minute trip walk

As someone who started their tripping journey late last year and has tripped plenty of time this year, huge props to you for all of that. It's completely impossible to understand what it's like to trip without tripping before, but understanding this video helps a bunch. The most effective way to get someone out of it is to take them for a walk. Exploring any random places tripping is amazing and can turn a challenging trip into something a bit easier. I especially recommend this if they get into loops. Personally it's really easy for me to have that loop hit due to a previous trip and I need to get someone else to help save myself and go for an exploration outside

I wouldn’t say can’t, you would honestly probably be fine. Did a doctor tell you that or did you just come to that conclusion? Usually it’s only schizophrenia you have to worry about if I’m not mistaken. I would personally try a small dose and go from there, but you do what you see best.

    • @p0ffl3y
      @p0ffl3y 4 місяці тому

@@titohhh420 Yep! Thanks for checking in, and yes I did talk to my doctor about it! I always wanted to try it out but my condition is very similar to schizophrenia in the sense that I also can hear voices and believe outlandish ideas. So if I even do a little bit I could get thrown over the edge, I can't touch weed either sadly.
I always wanted to try it out though! I'm just happy I could trip sit my friends so I'm still apart of the experience with them! 😁

Bonus Tip: if you’re tripping in a group with both genders and you know you’re going to be somewhere with gendered bathrooms, try to make sure you have a trip sitter for each gender so you can actually go into the bathroom if that’s where they’re going. There’s nothing more frustrating than having someone freaking out in a bathroom that you can’t go into when your job is to look after them

i doubt anyone will see nor acknowledge this but when you tell them “you’re okay” when they feel paranoid it makes it worse. try to find other ways to prove it’s okay. because they will feel stupid and devalued when they are told “you’re okay” which can lead to more paranoi and distress

I don't care if you're 'beating it to death' this is the exact information I need to know and absorb. So thanks a bunch!

Good info. I wish my trip sitter in the woods a few years back knew what the hell she was doing. I was having the most beautiful time, but as we were walking out of the woods and decided to go on a drive, she started screaming as a joke and it scared the living shit out of me. Paranoia got the best of me and I stressed the whole drive, luckily that didn't start until I had already peaked or I would have probably lost my mind.

The best trip sitter possible is one that you trust, but one also experienced in the compound you're taking as well as taking it with you. As a tripping trip sitter, you're the source of both vibe and direction of the collective experience. Your emotional state will dictate the emotional state of your friend. Never project, never suggest and absolutely never reminisce. But know this, a social trip is different from a solo trip. It's completely different experiences, meaning sometimes you're in another room entirely while your friend is going through stuff under the covers in the darkness.

Trip sitting is so important..i helped alot if people by refocusing them in creative ways..one time i brought some candles and guided them through rough spots by playing melting and shaping wax..another was i put up a white sheet with tons of oaint and brushes and suggested that they try splattering the paint noon toxic of coarse..im creative and very intuitive and that can be a handy dandy tool when sitting.

I also have the same idea with being a trip sitter and taking a smaller dose (if the trip sitter is experienced and know what dosage is small enough to be sure you are sober enough to trip sit). Being influenced by the same substance it will get easier to create a bond with the trippers and them to you. You are "in their world" but you are also experienced and have taken a small dose so you are "in the real world too!". So you can in their eyes act like a "link to the real world" while at the same time being able to "step in theirs" and also "understand what they are experiencing". A totally sober person can to someone who trips be percieved as "to sober to understand my concerns". The trippers expanded mind, whether imagined or real might not trust a totally sober person because the tripper feels disconnected from the sober state / "normal reality" and any person being in that sober state. That´s why I believe that there could be an advantage in taking a smaller dose as a trip sitter. But only in the right circumstances of course. I.e the trip sitter being experienced and the right type of person for this type of trip setup.

I tripped on mushrooms after a beating that should have put me in a hospital. After I'd refused an ambulance or LE response. Before I go any further, I was with someone who advised against it but I had already started the process alone... Needless to say, the person who sold it to me and knew my plan didn't say a word but I've never blamed him, although others did. If I'd had a trip-sitter, I doubt they would have agreed at all. I had no idea wtf I was doing, was desperate to stop the relentless physical pain from broken ribs, facial bones, black eyes, and mental pain from being stalked and hunted for 45 minutes prior to it actually happening. I'd broken my glasses the day before so I had no chance to escape at any point because I can only see about 7 feet ahead clearly. Wtf I was thinking I don't remember. That near fatal trip was my last one, it took years to recover and was one of the top 5 most idiotic decisions of my life. God bless sitters. Thanks for this video. It's needed!

My first trip was an arrogant, spontaneous dosing of myself. Without my mother swooping in to save the day, idk how bad it could have gotten. I was panicked until she came to my aid. Through walking up and down the street for 5-6 hrs, while my mother pretended everything was fine and she wasn’t nervous at all, my trip was saved and I now have an intense passion for psychs.

I followed the setting rule religiously every time i tripped until I got offered shrooms on my way to a rave once, best rave of my life! So the "safe environment" and "only trip with people you're close to" is not set in stone, but I still deem it as very very important! Especially when you're new to psychadelics.

***** The girl who offered me them (a friend of mine today, but this was the first time we met) always takes shrooms when going out instead of mdma/alcohol/speed, never gone sour for her so I believe that mindset (set) plays a bigger roll than people might think (more than setting maybe)

the only time i did acid my sitter - very experienced with many substances - took the same dose as me. beforehand he assured me that looking after me will be his first priority throughout the whole thing. this made me feel very safe because he was someone i trusted. everything was going wonderfully until halfway during the trip, we came back inside my flat after a short walk outside. he then said that i shouldn't walk around outside during my first time on this. i remarked that i trusted him to stop me from doing anything stupid. he then said that he's just an observer and wouldn't intervene with anything. if i was to run off or something, he wouldn't try to stop me, he'll just be entertained. at that time him saying this started making me feel extremely uneasy and even kind of unsafe. anxiety was quickly starting to build up and this time i knew that if the anxiety turns into a bad trip i suddenly had no one to turn to which made me start to panic a bit. at that point i almost felt his presence as a threat. i thought he might actually manipulate me into doing something reckless on purpose, just for fun. but then my reasoning turned on along with the realisation of how irrational my reaction is and how a bad trip because of what he said was absolutely unnecessary. i also had to remind myself that although my current perception of reality is strongly altered, i still knew what reality was like from before. so i could stop myself from doing something like setting myself on fire - which was kinda tempting at some point while i was holding a lighter. not because of any suicidal thoughts, just seemed like it would be fun. after this realisation the trip continued as smoothly as before, the whole experience was magical, one of the best nights of my life. i felt pretty good about succeeding to ground myself and to rationalise while my mind was in space but i still wouldn't dare to do it on my own and now i don't have a sitter that is at the same time trustworthy, familiar with the substance effects and willing to spare 15 hrs to watch over me and to be alert the whole time :/
