Hi Tony
I am now the proud owner of a DGX670 and I must say that your videos are extremely helpful since there are lots of tricks to know for using it well.
I thought my micro was not recorded on the USB drive until I found your video that explains it very clealy.
Thank a lot for your work.
Alain

You are awesome …it would take me years to learn what you have explained in this one video…
Thanks so much for the kind words, glad the video was helpful! And thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
When I bought my DGX 670 a couple years ago it actually came from Japan - took months - and there were NOT tutorials. The manual was deficient in instructing how to record on a flash drive (okay, I might be technically challenged) so I am so thrilled to find your videos!
Thanks so much, glad you’re enjoying the videos! And thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Thanks for al your super video’s🙏🙏🙏🙏

Tony, I love your DGX670 vids..........sooooooooooo helpful in understanding this complex machine.
Thanks so much! Glad you find the videos helpful! And thanks for visiting the channel feel free to subscribe
Alright! A series of DGX-670 vids. I'm going to eventually get one of these DGX-670s (unless something better in the price range comes out in the next year or so), but still having fun with my ew425 (hope to upload some tunes, or at least some ideas, soon). Excellent video, as usual, Tony. Looks like you're steadily adding subscribers. Gotta find a way to get your vids presented to thousands of music keyboard people other than subscribers. If I ever figure out how to do that, then will let you know (no charge). Anyway, looking forward to more of your vids, especially DGX-670 and ew425.
Thanks as always Thomas!
thanks so much for this video! I love your videos the one on how to turn on Midi was a life saver OMG, I had no Idea I thought Midi wasn't working and that I had purchased a lemon! Anyway I have a question, if you don't mind. When i'm playing the piano the volume is pretty low, even when i turn it all the way up, it just doesn't get that loud, but when I play a demo or play my ipad using the piano it gets extemely loud, it's such a big difference, so I know my speakers are working fine. So why can't i get the same volume when i play the piano, Is there some setting that i'm missing, thanks again
Thank you for these videos! I have tried using two different flash drives to record but my dgx 670 won’t recognize it, what could be the issue? and which flash drives would be compatible? Thank you!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the videos! There is a compatible list on Yamaha's website here: usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/6/1504926/DP_en_DGX670.pdf
But to be honest, I've always been fine as long as I stick to smaller sizes (32 GB or less), and also make sure you format them with the DGX not on your computer.

Your videos are great and very informative. One question: Can I play or load external styles in DGX 670?
Thanks so much! To be honest I've never looked into doing that (it has so many styles already lol).

Hi, thanks for the video.
Just wanted to clarify one question,
Can we hear the audio in computer/VST via keyboard speaker at same time, when we play the keyboard as midi device ?
Yes you can because the DGX has an audio interface built into the USB port and audio flows BOTH directions.

Tony, so can I download a song off a CD (MP3 or WAV) and play the keyboard while the track is playing.?? Love these videos, keep them coming. Thanks.
If it’s WAV you could copy it to a flash drive and connect that and play it. Or if it’s on a device (phone, iPad etc) you can connect to the piano with Bluetooth or with a cable to the 1/8” audio in or using a usb cable to the back of the piano and stream it and play along.
Hey there, ended up getting a DGX 670 White after seeing your flattering review, I love it !
I had a question,
Is there a way to output the DGX s audio to my phone so that if I film a video it doesnt use the mic from my phone but the sound of the piano ?
Otherwise what would be the more convenient way to film yourself with your phone with the audio of the.piano?
Thanks a bunch
Yes it's super easy since the DGX has an audio interface built right into the USB port! All you do is connect your DGX to your phone with a USB cable (like a normal printer cable) with whatever adapter is needed for your type of phone (so you would need a lightning adapter for iPhone for ex.). Then when you record a video from your camera app, it will use the direct audio from your piano INSTEAD of the built in mic. And if you want to sing along, you could connect a mic to the DGX and it will capture that too!
Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone That's awesome, I'm out to get a USB-c adapter then. Thanks a lot! I've subscribed
Hello, thank you very much for your work, I wanted to ask if you can perform a review. of the casio CDPS 110 please... Sorry for my language, I'm using translator. Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾
Hi there! The CDP 110 is not available in my country; not sure if it might be the same as the CDP 160 which is. My local store sells those, but they don't rent them so I can't do a review on one unless I buy it. I have played the 160 in store and it feels like a decent action (a bit on the light side, similar to the PX-S1100/3100, maybe not quite as firm feeling), and the sounds are decent quality. It's nice that the sounds are labelled on the 160 (so you don't have to look up key combinations in the manual). And it has ok speakers, no L/R line outs.
Hope that helps! I will definitely review the 160 if I can rent one! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone Gracias 👍
Tony, I am getting a format error. I formatted the usb memory drive in windows on my computer and copied some WAV files to it. Plugged into my DGX-670 and none of the files show up. Any idea what I did wrong??
Some things to try:
1) make sure you have the USB connected when the DGX is off then turn it on and see if that works
2) Make sure the file names are short (no idea if this matters)
3) format the flash drive with the DGX (menu->utility->usb (top)->format, then copy the files to the root of the drive see if it works
4) record a simple file using the DGX (if this fails it might be your flash drive), see if you can play it back; if so, then on your pc, right click on each file and look at the audio properties (bit rate etc) see if your other ones are different than that on the DGX (manual says: "WAV format (44.1 kHz sample rate, 16-bit resolution, stereo)" is what the DGX understands
Hope some of this helps! Let me know if you get it working
Your videos have really helped me with new DGX 670. Finally understanding registration and now frustrated with EQ. Can you do a video on how to make changes Permanent for at least a saved bank or maybe for default settings? I am basically one finger right hand and chord playing left hand, so the melody at 100 is overwhelmed by the style at 100. Changing Main to 127 works, but I want that be default rather than remembering to hit eq button before every sit down at the keyboard. Is this possible?
Glad to hear the videos are helpful! I did a video on registrations and playlists that will help you with saving custom settings: ua-cam.com/video/C6507BIYOZc/v-deo.html
@@PianoTone I watched this one many times to figure out Registration but I don’t see eq settings in the options to save. What am I missing?
@@arthurfultz8066 Oh sorry I missed that part of your question - to be honest I have never modified EQ settings on the DGX so I'm not sure if they get saved as part of the registration or not - you access them from the MIXER/EQ button, and then move to the EQ tab. Would have to test as to whether that gets saved with the registration or not.
@@PianoTone Fair enough. Will share if I learn more. Your videos are the best on UA-cam for DGX 670. Thanks for posting.
@@PianoTone Did find Regisration does save the EQ panel settings. That leaves question of changing default settings. Is there a Function button?
