    A lot of people say there pretty slow but when u get on a open dirt road and open it up it surprises a lot of people not saying there super fast and powerful but they sure can get the job done

    Well made vid mate getting better and better. I don't mind the old tractors ay I reckon I'd be pretty happy to own one, definitely need to spend a bit on the suspension but with them bulletproof engines ya can't go wrong 🤙

      Yeah mate I was surprised how good it was ( for the type of bike it is) and they are bulletproof. Thanks for the feed back on the video...

    Nice review Steve. I loved my DRZ400E after I put around $3000 into it: springs & valving setup for my weight and riding was the best money spent. Went a full FMF exhaust and opened the air box up which made it a little more responsive also. Fantastic trail bikes for sure, but if I had my time again I would have just bought a WR or EXC for the total investment cost once I got the DR where it needed to be.

    • @BrokenSprocket
      @BrokenSprocket  5 років тому +2

      Thanks mate the DRZ400 is a great value bike but if you put $3000 into it the value starts to fade. The WR and EXC are great bikes but expensive in Australia and the DRZ400 is super reliable and a better do it all bike. Thanks for watching.

    • @marcogonzalez7829
      @marcogonzalez7829 5 років тому +1

      Don't stress mate, the EXC and the DRZ are very different bikes that are used for different purposes. There's a lot of advantages of a DR over an EXC and vice versa.

    Nice review, good points, I like seeing it from 1st person view to get a general impression of the ride, but especially like seeing how it rides at the end of the vid when you follow with a camera filming how it handle on the trails vs looking at handle bars the whole entire time like a lot of guys do. 🙄Good job sir.👏 Tx4V

    Awesome to hear your opinion on the 400. They really are a great do it all bike. They really dont feel that heavy when in motion, but you start to feel it when your needing to pick it up lol. I think the kickstand killswitch is good mod to do, and the one in the clutch. I havent done mine as i thought i would try to ride it with them, but they just seem to kill the engine at the worse times.
    I overcame the shifter issue by using the inside of the boot, saves abit of money that way

    • @BrokenSprocket
      @BrokenSprocket  5 років тому +1

      Yeah mate the DRZ400 is a great all-round bike. I would definitely take the kill switch off the kick stand it's almost dangerous.

    sidestand switch is simple just remove and join the two wires together . are you sure that bike is derestricted they have a rubber flap in the boot between the carb and motor that needs cutting out with a razor blade. a throttle limiting screw an exhaust restrictor on the end cap though that one should have the enduro baffle that comes with the bashplate etc. and you can just pull the airbox snorkel out. you can also shed a heap of weight by removing all the useless chain guards, reflectors etc and replace the heavy stock mirrors,exhaust etc with lighter ones.

    Okay, an Aussie. What's it like on a right-hand drive dual-sport?
    This guy has a sharp eye on a short take. He has hit on all of the good-guy mods, except for the jet kit.

    It's kind of funny ADS had the same problem with the kickstand just the other day on his motard. I had a friend that had a DRZ400 and it was a great bike until he had to lift it up several times in a day then it became quite cumbersome imagine if you doing adventure riding it would be great but not so much on singletrack. Either way it's a great review

    • @BrokenSprocket
      @BrokenSprocket  5 років тому

      Thanks mate yeah the kickstand kill switch is a bad idea for a off road dirt bike. It's not the best bike for single trail but is still capable a great do it all bike.

    But people PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF OFF-ROADING, STOP BUYING NEW ONES! THERE ARE PLENTY OF USED ONES TO BE HAD FOR MUCH LESS!

    If you buy the E model (didn't even know you could get the s model in aus) it has so much more power. Suspension is adjustable, and the side stand is a non issue. I've hit big boofs and jumped my bike and bottomed it out and have never had an issue with the kill switch accidentally shutting the bike off. Thing is also a wheelie machine, trying to drag race people is difficult cause the front wheel just comes up in 1st 2nd and 3rd without trying

      I have owned a lot of dirt bikes in my life but have owned a drz 400 e for the last 10 years. I have modified the front and rear suspension with springs and valves. Plus higher rise bars and clamps. They are as tough as nails and easily are a race bike. If you want to go fast turn the throttle and ride properly. It’s that simple.
