i read that from the first, now i m focusing on it. :d
omg haha
this! :D
PURE GENIUS. Love this man's sets soo much... could listen for eternity
..his production is always soulful, not just made out of multiple percussions that fills up entire spectre, less is more and this is pretty clear when it comes to Bodzin... and lets not forget to mention M. Romboy.
I've been involved with electronic music since my age of 14, now I 'am 34 and pretty much tired of electronica, rarely I hear something new and only few artists that are been around are keeping it reel, many are just playing and producting nonsense, I guess the clientele these days are way out of my league :)
TOTALLY UNDERRATED ARTIST!
All performance is AMAZING!!!!! But.....48:32 and the MADNESS begins! Moog gets in to stay! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't seen anyone since James Zabiela as technical. Even more musical really!

Im 36, have been listening electronic music since 1999, and hands down this is one of the greatest live sets i have ever heard.
You seen bicep at the printworks ?
I’m 51... listening techno since I’m 15 years old...this is really incredible...the sound is so good ❤️
i´m 41 and cried for joy listening to sleepless remix from stephan for the first time. i remember recording my first dj sets on fritz radio (berlin) on an old cassette recorder from the early 80´s. And then i drove my parents crazy, while listening the same tape continuously. I growed up with this music in the 80 - end of 90´s, and i know i will die with this music. I´m addicted to electronic music, because its clear and there are no limits in its arrangements. And you have to hear it loud to feel the beat in your stomach. The rest will do YOUR brain. Today we need more stephan bodzins than david guettas. So long
I'm 56 an I love this! It motivates me and moves me!

i discoverd most fellas dont dance anymore thier too scared of looking like a twat on facebook they all take selfies too
I always dig the vibe from this set, it feels cyberpunkish, the music of course but also the blue/purple lights, and even the fella with the handfan. It has a futuristic vibe.
Great observation, you're spot on! From the tunes to the aesthetics it all has that feel.

Sick set , i´ve heard it over 50 times , it´s just beautiful!
and some people say electronic music takes no effort to make ... never seen Stephan in action I guess +1
+hoshino to me he is as he's using al kind of controllers to generate and modify the rhythms and sequences.. it'd not as if he just has 2 or more CD players and mixes songs together
+hoshino And he spent thousands of hours training himself to play "Live" something personnal. It's not "everything in the studio". Also the sound are pre-recorded (I think it's obvious and logical to do that) but they are launched - sequenced - adjust - during the Live. It's huge.
+hoshino . it is a live performance of his music. Incidentally he can be seen playing keys around 25 minute mark.
+hoshino Is live men, no mix

So many emotions are expressed by Bodzin's sets. Everything is on point! It gets even better if you actually watch the video and see he really loves the music he's creating. What a legend!
Honestly, this guy is the best of them. No matter what people say, or will ever say. He is someone on a level like Mozart or Beethoven. If he would've lived at that time we would know him nowadays as one of big guys of classical music.
Да, но его золотое время это 2005-2007
52 мин это доказывает
@@АнтонМ-й6к well ... what? ^^
@@molochz you're right, Bodzin is ahead of them
@@molochz I had the opportunity, after a long time, to see him live at Afterlife Mexico. You have no idea what you're talking about. His knowledge of synthesizers of this kind is unparalleled. You say he only uses 5 melodies and applies a filter to them. You're crazy, my friend. This guy doesn't even use Ableton to compose in rows. He does everything manually with his equipment, and then to see that he performs his Live shows with a modified device that he himself designed and adapted to his needs so he could use it in live performances with Ableton through a script is something I've never seen anyone else do. And on top of that, you have to know that he was one of the pioneers in Melodic Techno, mixing melodic trance melodies with techno and progressive house arpeggios. This guy is insane.
@@molochz
The simple comparison is stupid, their styles, epochs, and contexts are very different. Mozart is known for creating classical compositions from the Baroque era, while Stephan Bodzin is an electronic music producer. It is evident that the techniques of composition, instruments used, and creative objectives are completely different. Mozart used complex techniques like counterpoint and tonal harmony to create his classical works, while Bodzin uses advanced technology for music production to create new and unique sounds. The only thing Bodzin might have comparable to Mozart is his sense of progression and structure, but undoubtedly, in terms of merit, both are extremely gifted in their respective areas. However, the historical context plays a significant role since Beethoven was someone who revolutionized and changed music in his time, and I'm not saying Bodzin hasn't done the same, but you can't compare doing something of this caliber in the 1800s to doing it in the 2000s. But for me, this is stupid. Music is made to be enjoyed, and it is very subjective, which is why there are infinite genres. Ultimately, the most important thing is to listen to it, feel it, and in a way, connect with it.

The Buddha if he reincarnated as a DJ. You can tell this man is enlightened by how he feels at one with the music.
Wow for a first time I'm glad Autoplay was on lol
the most emotional performance ive ever seen, mr bodzin you are the best one
You can see Stephan's passion for the music, and you can feel this passion in his music. So many DJs these days treat playing as a job and lack this passion, which is then missing from the sets. But not here. This set is full of passion!!!
David August's boiler room is similar. He also plays melodic electronic tunes and he is really passionate about it too.
This is one of the reasons I love music so much. Thank you Stephan Bodzin for being so talented.
God damn.. I keep coming back to this one.
One of the best set i've ever heard. If you simply love this kind of music, you just live in another dimension
Another one like this?
This is absolutely incredible. A lot of electronic performers are content to go onstage with a mixer and CDJs and just play then mix their tracks, or even less than that, play and mix other people's music. I've never seen a Bodzin set before today, but his live manipulation of synths and macros on his controller to perform this set has earned my fandom. What a talent.
Since the 90`s Hardhouse label and so on
You have no idea of DJing don't you? If you do it the right way, it takes a lot of work. Unfortunately the best DJs often don't get the spotlight they deserve. Digging can take up extreme amounts of time! I don't want to attack you but please do your research properly before stating something foolish like that. I don't wanna disrespect Stephan, but I don't want you to disrespect DJs who work hard!
Have a nice week :)
@@johannmuller1314 Thanks for being somewhat respectful. I do own a mixer and a couple of old Pioneer CDJs that I used to practice on. In my 20s I was big into the rave scene and had many many friends who were DJs. They would spend a lot of time listening to other people's music and playing other people's music in front of crowds weekly, which I was a part of. I tried getting into it myself, but was always bothered by the fact that I was spending so much time mixing and beat-matching other people's music and never creating something of my own. Sure each DJ set is unique in the order you play and mix tracks, but it's akin to being in a cover band. Your performance of other people's music is different in the way you might go from one song to the next, and the way they are performed, but in the end it isn't your song. I became less enamored with DJing and moved into producing so I could feel like I was creating something new and unique, that was truly a work of my own. That is why I have so much respect for artists like Stephan, Boris Brejcha, Deadmau5 and so on. They create their own music and then perform it live in a DJ set rather than create nothing of their own and perform other people's music live in a DJ set. Not to be disrespectful but you have no idea about electronic music production do you?? The amount of time it takes to learn your DAW, oscillators, filters, ADSR, envelopes, automation, EQ, compression, delay, reverb, mixing, mastering, sidechains, parallel processing, music theory and the million other things involved in production is so much more difficult than skipping all that, letting someone else put in the work of learning the craft, and creating the music, then you just come along after they put in the work, sync to the beat, press play and fade in/out while EQing out dissonant noises.
There's was absolutely nothing wrong with anything the OP stated. It isn't that hard to dig for music. What is hard is training your ear for good music, and interpreting that in the best way possible. Which Stephen does quite well. So YOUhave a nice day, go be jealous somewhere other than here.
I've waited so long for this to be archived, so happy that I can finally experience this again

so far, probably the best Boiler Room, ever, everytime I listen to this, I get that weird feeling about his art, his tones, something magical
2021 and this set still smashes it, amazing . 💣🔥🥳
this is how you live. This is what people like Bodzin, Kink, Surgeon, etc. are propelling electronic music culture, specifically techno, into the realms of performance art. No longer are producers afraid to get deep into midi and programming a random set as opposed to pooling tracks for one. The art of DJing is just as much a minority to the entire scene but thankfully live electronic music with its steep learning curve will never see a saturation of mediocrity, ever.
well of course DJs have nothing on producers/live performers
When people close his eyes at the floor, it is that you're doing something right.

He said in an interview that this album to him was very personal. About his life, family, wife, children. Here quote from "Powers of Ten" album release on SoundCloud:
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”
