Still one of the most epic songs they ever made. David Gilmour is a musical genius - what an arrangement by these amazing musicians - one of my favorites I ever heard. And then to end it with Dick Parry, the sax man - and on into the fade... 💜💜💜 I wish I could see him live again. What a tribute to Syd Barrettt... felt that.

Have not listened to Pink Floyd a great deal in my early years as I was into different music during those times. I am 67 now, over the past couple of years I have really got into their music. Although I feel I missed out so much for most of my life, imagine discovering this now and being able to binge on a wealth of brilliance that I now have to feast on.
I've seen this dozens of times over the last 17 years and it still gives me chills every time.

I hear lots of people say, “What Tone!”, but I know folks who have replicated that tone and still can’t get the sound DG has. His restraint, patience, vibrato and bends (his hands) make that sound and tone.

42nd Street in the U.K.
To get his sound requires a lot of practice.

such a beatuiful song. Pink Floyd's tribute to Syd Barrett - Wish You Were here. he was still alive when they wrote but gone in the mind forever, finally dying in 2008. so sad. Cudos to Roger Water for writing this song, but David Gilmour's guitar work is genius, ditto Roger Wright on synth.

Gilmour is the soul.
Roger wrote the bones of each song, and the lyrics. He was also the guy that really called the shots. However, David Gilmour brought so much soul and emotion to the band, he's equally as important.
