Like you predicted on Patreon, there was that one person who took incredibly hostile offense to your "No More Diet Suggestions, Please!" I'm so glad you made the video and you've helped me to understand how to be more understanding of people with chronic illnesses and have probably tried everything under the sun to try and get better.
Sending so much love to your family ❤️

New sub here and I have to say thanks for that video too. As someone who is overweight, controlling blood pressure through medication, and dealing with late-onset food allergies, I have lost track of the diet suggestions I have to field. You were a lot nicer then I would be.

I appreciated your "please no more diet suggestions" video. I have chronic illnesses as well. Multiple like you do. I am also overweight because of the weight gain effects of one of my medicines that save my life. I get suggestions all the time. But like you, I have already tried these and negatively affect my illnesses. I'm glad that you posted that video.

I really appreciate the new video about diet suggestions! Even for people who don't have chronic illnesses, it's so frustrating when you eat a certain way and receive unsolicited advice about how you need to change. I'm a vegetarian for various reasons and also track my caloric intake for weight loss, and I'm sick of people telling me that I need to eat meat and do a low carb diet and go gluten free!
The only thing I wanted to add to your video (for those who care!) is that veganism doesn't actually mean low calorie. It's fairly easy to eat calorie-dense plant-based foods, and I know quite a few overweight vegans. Heck, Oreos are vegan! I don't think you were implying that veganism means low calorie in the caption on your video, but I thought I'd comment just in case someone interprets it that way but is interested in a vegan diet.

It's so nice that even though your parents are divorced that they can still get along. Great to see everyone having fun even though it was over almost leaving your walker. YEAH! Mom will be closer to you! That's awesome. What a huge help. Harlow loves her grandpa. Sending prayers. I hope you have a great weekend.

As a fellow EDS warrior, I love your diet suggestions video. Every time I get diet advice I hear myself replying in my head, "I know you love me, but..." because it's so frequent that people have the perfect cure or perfect diet that works for them. I love your and Judd's relationship. I wish my husband could stop seeing me as sick. This is just life and I try to enjoy it however I can.

Thank you so much for the second video from today! If only I was getting a penny each time people suggest me going gluten-free/dairy-free/vegan... Please leave me and my safe food alone and come back when you have a medical degree. I know that people do it with best intentions but they also can't understand how does it feel when someone is constantly telling you that all your problems are because you eat *insert product category* and don't do enough yoga.

Крис П yes! Every time I tell my dad who is a former body builder about any joint pain he tells me to work out and strengthen my joints more and it won't happen. And I'm just like ok tell me what in the gym will keep the end joint of my big toe in because that's been popping out lately and swollen and painful.

I loved your 'No More Diet Suggestions, Please!' Video, it was informative, you sounded nice and not 'forceful' to get the message out, and it wasn't too long, just the right length to get the info across, some people hated it but thats just to each there own, haters gonna hate!

There's always that one user that will get offended. Let me add that if you never made the video and only continued to address the suggestions in your daily vlogs then it would not reach newcomers or the majority of your current subscribers. Also while I'm at it - you're one of the most humble, kind people on this platform and the only thing that's changed about you is the quality of your videos. That's coming from one of the the first 100 subscribers. I know I can't speak for anyone, but I do want to thank you for taking time out of your day to pick up the camera, record your day, and sit down to edit and upload your videos. It must be a long process for UA-camrs, let alone one with a chronic illness. Kudos to you, Jaquie ❤

Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. It is really nice to hear it from one of my first subscribers, too! I do work really hard to learn new things in order to improve video quality, etc, so I am really happy to know you've noticed!

It warms my heart to see the love that Judd has for you. My husband loves me but the last 11 years that I've been really sick have been hard on him bc he worries about me when he is away with the Army and such. I tell him all the time that he agreed to sickness and health. He said he wasn't expecting this though. I had a good five years after we married and wasn't that sick then it hit the fan! Love you guys!

Hey Jaquie - your videos are keeping me going. I've got POTS, EDS, MCAS, autoimmune...etc also and just watching you helps me remember to take it step by step day by day, and be grateful for what I can do. You just embody how to live well with this. You've helped me allow myself to feel frustrated and discouraged, but also be constantly celebrating. Thank you. I'm in a flare right now and have had a lot of moments of feeling discouraged, but I've been watching all your videos and it's helping me believe I can do this. Means more than you know. Thank you so much.

My husband & I have been married 12 years and he has helped me from day one. We try not to use the word caretaker now. In the past we have but it got to the point where it was patient & caregiver not husband & wife. Since we are a young married couple we make sure if I have a bad day and he has had to take care of me a lot then on a good day we try and have us time.
But I love seeing the love between you two. It shows that even though a partner is ill there still can be the fun & laughter. That is what my husband & I try to show others too

I live with my folks, they support me, they are even both my pcas, but yeah, I hear you, caretaker is not a word any of us would choose. It's fun seeing Judd play with Harlow. My service dog Fred gets a lot of play time in with my dad and it's pretty fun to watch and I'm grateful that even when I feel too sick to play with him in the yard, someone he loves and is attached to does. Watching your channel is often validating and helps remind me I am not alone in dealing with these chronic health issues. Thanks for putting yourself out there and telling your story. It matters!

I'm so glad you are becoming an American Citizen! Very exciting. I only refer to those who care for me as "caretakers" when People ask me who my "caretakers" are. I agree with you and Judd, they are family and friends who love me. I took care of my Mother-in-Law for Years, but never considered myself her caretakers--to me, her caretakers were the doctors providing her with the medication and tools she needed at the time to sustain life! I was her daughter in law who loved her and helped her follow her physicians' instructions. I'm glad you have an awesome support system!

I love this video. I've been dating my boyfriend since a few months before I got my concussion that led to all of my health issues. I have POTS and Gastroparesis now with an NJ feeding tube. I feel so lucky to have my boyfriend helping me so much with all of my health issues. We're only 18 & 19, I feel like so many people expected him to just leave me when things got hard but he has braced the storm with me. We are both lucky with amazing family and significant others 😊

I laughed when I saw your last video. I just finished having breakfast with my aunt and she said I needed to go gluten free and suggested another diet that will help me and cures cancer and diabetes. Ugh. lol. you said it so nicely. Hopefully people will listen. Family takes care of family. When I took care of my aunt and Grandma it was because I loved them not a job. Now that I need help my family and friends help out of love. It's different Than hiring someone. I don't like that either it's just sounds weird.

I want to thank you for making your most recent video about your diet. Being a vegan and new to your channel, I couldn't understand fully why you didn't try this, or so I thought. I didn't think about how many questions you must get about this, which must be tiring.

I'm so intrested in this kind of stuff because when i was 8 years old i had scoliosis and i had 12 surgerys to fix my curve I'm now 14. But I like watching your vlogs because it makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one out there who has to deal with something every day because with scoliosis i have medal in my back and to make sure the sscrews that are in my back don't come loose i can't ride a horse and it was always a dream of mine to ride a horse but now i can't. And i can't do stuff that a normal teenager can do. Thanks for doing what you do...I'm not good at talking :/

Ruby Gold hey, i was operated for scoliosis too about seven years ago now. I have multiple screws and two rods in my back since then. I only had to have one surgeon (or his team, anyway) to fix it, but except for my yearly checkup I've never had to have my screws checked, and I can do everything according to my surgeon, ride horses (which I often do), ski, ...
I don't know if your procedure was a lot more complex than mine was for you to have so many restrictions? In any event I'm sorry you have to live with those, I know it's no fun...
I still feel really lucky when I see people like Jaqui who have to battle illnesses everyday. Chronical illness warriors, I admire you! Keep on fighting I believe in you :)

      @isntdelicate1337 7 років тому

:3 thanks. i only have those restrictions right now because because i don't have alot of screws in my back at the moment because my surgeon wants to keep opening up my back to lengthen my rods because i'm still growing. I have 4 screws in my back and i did have spinal fluid leaks a few times because i was to active.

      Ruby Gold ouch!
My surgeon waited for me to stop growing before he operated, I had a corset for about two or three years as I was growing up, but it proved to be useless on me because I apparently have crooked articulations between my vertebrae, so the second they took my corset off my back just slumped back to about a 50 degree curve :/
I think I currently have something like 8 screws in my back, but obviously there was no need for my surgeon to go back and lengthen my rod, so I was in and out of the hospital in just over a week, had no PT at all and got to start riding again and everything else about 6 months later. I was really surprised at how fast my body recuperated after such a big surgery!
I was terrified when they told me I had to get operated, but in the end I have no regrets, my surgeon saved my quality of life as I'll get older :)
Hang in there, you'll be glad once it's all over, and it will save you a lot of back pain in the long run :)

I get diet suggestions all the time. Now that I have a POTS diagnosis people freak out about how much salt I keep putting on my food.
Earlier this month I went to the pot luck family reunion. Because we were camping I brought a dish that I could not eat due to food allergies and had eaten a full meal before attending. I brought a bag of chips to eat while every one else was eating and got so many people coming up to tell me how I need to change my diet.

I understand how you feel about the word caretakeer. My 18 year old (who has fibro & autism) sometimes uses it to describe me and I don't like it. i didn't realize exactly why until you said it sounds like it's obligation - and that is so it. I'm their Mum, not someone who is obliged or paid to look after them.

We use care giver as a positive term that is more accurate term. They give care to us out of love, you are a beautiful couple.

Hey Jaquie, I help my husband at the nursing home where he resides. I don't like the term caretaker, however I find the term caregiver is more accurate. To me caregiver clarifies that it's not just a random choice we make, but rather a willful decision we choose to do for our loved ones. Maybe that might be a word that refers to your family. Take care
