  • On last week's show, I brought you the Creality, Ender 3 V2 Neo 3D printer and I had several messages requesting a setup and assembly video. So by viewer request, on this week's show, I demonstrate how to assemble and set up your 3D printer to get it ready for your first print. I hope you enjoy the show.
    PLEASE NOTE!!!!!!!
    I made an error while speaking on the show regarding adjusting the Z-offset while printing. I mentioned that when I adjusted the value from -1.70 to -1.68 that it would tighten things up and bring the printer nozzle closer to the print bed. This is 100% inaccurate. It will actually move the printer nozzle further away from the print bed. Turning the adjustment knob clockwise will raise the printer head and counter clockwise will lower it. Sorry about that. I hope this clears things up.

    Hi Kenny, good one Kenny, also one important step for you prints sticking to the bed is keeping it clean, I use isopropyl alcohol and don't touch it with your fingers the oil in them will cause your prints to not stick to the bed, thanks again Kenny.

      What seems to be the problem with your prints Rosa? What exactly is happening. Maybe you could email me some pictures of how it is messing up or possibly contact me on Facebook messenger and I will help as much as I can to get you making some successful prints. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks for tuning in.

      @@acutabove_woodworkings well right now my CRtouch broke off so im waiting from creality to get a new one... cause that plastic housing broke off so fast after i was following a ifixit guide to make sure all the bearings were tight -_- but everything was going super great,i printed a ducky and a boat. so i thought hey i can get started on the real deal, i needed some new ear pad adapters for my headphones cause i bought new pads for it. so i printed part one it went perfect, i wanted to print part 2,/and they are perfect circles btw)...yet it was constantly messing up,it looked like the fillament did not wanna stick to the bed... i sliced it in a diffrent slicers,creality print and cura,yet the same results everytime... i took a few recordings and images i can forward to you, but right now im a bit hardstuck until i have the new CRtouch... but when i do have it if you dont mind, since this is my first 3d printer ever. id love to have a chat with you or some email conversations about it :/ im willing to pay you if you wish

    Never thought that a 3D printer would have a home in my shop. Well maybe I need to rethink this. Thanks Kenny One thing you did not mention is software. What drives this little machine?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Рік тому +1

      that was mentioned in the introduction to the machine last Tuesday Jim. You can use whatever slicing software you have available. I am using Fusion 360 (the free version) for my designs and I'm using Cura (the free version) for the slicing software to get it in the proper formate so that the printer can see it. The printer does NOT need to be hooked up to a computer in order to work. It has a memory slot that holds your designs and prints directly from the memory card. Thanks for tuning in.

    Interesting video to watch. When you were doing the bed leveling and you disabled the stepper motors, does that setting disable the "zen" axis (the up and down) as well? Guessing not disabled but it wasn't clear to me.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Рік тому +1

      if you disable the stepper motors, they are all disabled and will not work again until you click a function that requires them. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in Dwight.

    Another excellent video ... even though I don't have one it was still very interesting and informative 👍
    One point I'm a little confused about, I'd assume that a negative value for the z-axis (and z-offset) would basically move the head downwards ... so when you started printing and had to change the z-offset setting ... you moved the z-offset up the way (from -1.70 to -1.68) , i.e. further away from the bed ....... what am I misunderstanding?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Рік тому +1

      What you are misunderstand is that the host of the show got confused and gave the wrong information. You are 100% correct that a value of -1.68 is further away from the printer bed than a value of -1.70 because it is below the zero point of the x-axis. The number that I gave are only true if you offset is a positive value. Thanks for point that out to me Barry. I will have to make a note in the video description section to make sure that folks are aware of the error. I must have missed that in editing. Thanks for tuning in.

      @@acutabove_woodworkings We'll forgive you this time ... just not up to the usual standard 😂
      With the amount of information you are passing on it's inevitable you make a few mistakes, but they are very slight mistakes ... the video is still very informative and I learned quite a bit from it 👍

    Having issues with printer and cant remember how to level correctly. Im look at 6:12 with the power off. Your zed axis stays suspended but can be moved manually. On my machine, with the power off the zed axis will fall to the bottom, but I can manually move it, however it just keeps falling back to bottom.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  6 місяців тому

      It sounds like your centrifugal wheels are not tight enough on the z-axis track. The wheels need to be adjusted to be snug on the vertical tracks of the printer. If they are not snug, they will just drop to the bottom. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    • @jdcalvin1
      @jdcalvin1 6 місяців тому

      @@acutabove_woodworkings Yep. You're correct, that did it. Thank you.
      I did continue on with leveling, however it appears the middle of the bed on x axis is concave (dips), and the middle of the bed on the y axis is convex (bulges)

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  6 місяців тому

      @@jdcalvin1 Glad that you were able to adjust the wheels on the Z axis. You should still be able to perform a levelling of the bed even with the slight deformities of the print bed. It might take a few tries to find a happy medium but you should still be able to get successful printing. Almost every bed warps a bit once the print bed heats up and depending on how much heat you are setting your bed temperature at, the warp can be a little or an extreme. Keep on levelling the bed and see if you can find that happy medium that will allow you to print successfully.
