In this serum tutorial we take a look at a huge pad sound inspired by Madeon & Porter Robinson. I was cleaning up some old videos recently and on my vocal chops for ableton live tutorial I noticed a lot of requests for the pad sound. I thought I'd revisit the synth, add and tweak a few things and make a short video on how to make simple but effective pads in Serum, enjoy 🙂

Have you ever heard Pixel Terror? their sound design is mind blowing. I’d LOVE a tutorial on how they do it. Their songs Amnesia, Game Over, and Soda are great examples of their style. Those are all insane

3:23 how does he get that little blue line around the knob to be where it's at? The video cuts out and doesn't show that.
Trying to figure out the same thing.
Figured it out eventually with some Googling. I had to shift-alt click the cutoff wheel to get the dial setting to point to the bottom of the blue bar instead of in the middle. Then click and drag the small blue orb to the top left of the cutoff wheel ("Fil Cutoff") to adjust the max value of the blue bar.

I am desperately looking for a particular synth sound, typically heard in dark/gothic rock and metal music. I downloaded many presets but none is actually like the sound I am after. Would you be kind and make such a synth sound, please?
Could you please try to remake the supersaw that Fairlane used in his song "what you promised" it would be amazing
What I am looking for at the moment is getting FM sounds that are also modern. The free FM synth Dexed is really cool but it needs processing to sound up to date and FM is in general not as intuitive, obviously. One sound for example are typical gritty FM basses that also sound wide and fat. Probably a matter for layering several patches... Hey how did you get the cutoff automatsion start with this point. if i put the automatsion on then the automatsion starting point ( imean the Blueline goes from 2ways from the button mid positsion. can't explain it better :D i remember it was something to hold down and scroll but nothing seems to work.
