    This video helped so much for the piston rings. Not one other video on UA-cam walked you thru like this guy did

    ZX1 the best lube I,ve ever used but I don't use it on a new build as it will take a long time to bed in I run a engine with no oil in it and it kept running.

    How did you get your piston to sit flush when you put the cylinder on ?

    How did you get the piston in the cylinder? In a car you'd go in from the top and use a compressor. I'm assuming the bottom of the cylinder is tapered?

    • @Cheaphorsepower
      @Cheaphorsepower  2 роки тому +2

      Yes and you squeeze the the piston rings with your fingers

  • @kevinellevold9480

    It's a good video . But the part were he is talking about putting all three oil rings together is not the best way to do it . The proper way is to put the wavy
    Oil ring in first because it has seats that hold the upper and lower oil rings
    In place . Now you put the lower one in then the upper one in other wise
    The rings can get jammed behind or on top of the containment seats on the wavy oiling ring? Other wise Then the piston will have trouble going in to the cylinder or snag the cylinder walls.

      @Cheaphorsepower  10 місяців тому

      No and here’s why, when you do that it’s really hard to get the third ring it, then finally I maybe didn’t mention this but I always squeeze all the way around like you see me doing in the video to ensure there is good movement and nothing is binding up. Either way this is just the easiest way I’ve found to do it. If you prefer the other way great, they both work the same.

    Put the oil rings from the bottom up 1at a time 😱💯🍻

    • @Cheaphorsepower
      @Cheaphorsepower  Рік тому +1

      The problem with that is the top ring has a tendency to get snagged have hard time going in after the middle ring, so all 3 as a whole makes it ten times easier to install

      If you put one at a time the two thin oil rings will be behind the little notches on the wavy oil ring
      That hold the rings in place. The little notches on the wavy oil ring are designed to be behind the two thin oil rings and hold them in place?

    What if you put the piston upside down? Lol I my piston says “ni” instead of “in” because I put it upside down and do not want to go back and flip it?

    • @Cheaphorsepower
      @Cheaphorsepower  Рік тому

      Less valve clearance. The dimples are shaped to allow some wiggle room so the piston doesn’t hit them. But I’ve heard of a bunch of people running them without and issue so maybe you’ll be fine

      I think they would idk about the stroke though it’s worth testing before hand. Spin the motor over by hand and double check your clearances

    DO NOT line up any of your piston ring gaps at all they should all be staggered so oil cant go straight through the openings!!!!!!!! Good video but that's crucial
