Bending those alignment pins is a PRO TIP! I've re-coned a couple of these and this would've made the process even simpier. As Huey once said, it's hip to be square 🤟
Really like this... I have two nsv5's now, do you think these L7's would be better or would it even be enough to notice a difference... I just like the fact you can recone them with no glue and no waiting around...idk if I'd switch yet I was looking at the new nsv6 but he I am on a kicker channel 🤷♂️ I had a solo barric L7 when I was 16 im 39 now it's kinda like revisiting the old days... I like sundown but I like really these too
Youre talking about a $600 1k rms sub vs a $1,400 sub that can take triple that. Stick with the sundown. BUT, to each their own. I like these new kicker subs, but for the money theres better imo
I wasn't going to go this big in my pickup but if Kicker is willing to produce these replacement cones well into the future than why would you buy anything else! How much is the 15" ? Is it available?
@KICKER-AUDIO that gives me time to finish off my home theater than. I am wires, speaker stands and a power conditioner away from finally having a complete separate processor and amp setup. Hopefully I'll have some funds set aside for the 15 when it comes out. Can this be the last car audio sub I need to buy? Can I just keep buying replacement cones if I romp on it to much? Will you keep making replacement cones for years to come? Because I wasn't going to buy top of the line but it looks like the smartest buy in car audio.
Sub looks nice, but they just came out and theyre already mass producing recone kits? Seems sketchy to me, especially seeing as how big d has already commenting saying hes reconed a few already. Kicker doing what it does best i gues...
No, we don't expect subs to blow. We made the Solo X to last in a daily ride for years, but nothing is indestructible. Absolutely nothing. We also know a sub like this may be subjected to power levels far beyond our recommendations. With most other manufacturers, their high SPL subs have to be reconed. This is almost never covered under warranty (unless its deemed a manufacturers defect), but repair is possible. The "normal" process with most companies is to pay for shipping to send it back to the manufacturer. The consumer also pays for a recone kit. This often takes a few weeks. We made recone kits to eliminate the shipping costs and the delay. It also ensures the cone alignment is perfect every time. Now let's talk about SPL competition.... If you spend any time around SPL competition, you will find that competitors use subs like drag racers use engines: they ride the ragged edge of what a sub (ANY sub) can take. The problem is that reconing a sub typically takes a long time to do..cutting out the spider and the surround, disconnecting the leads, cleaning the excess material off the frame and the gap, realigning the cone and voice coil perfectly then re-gluing everything - then letting that glue cure and reconnecting the terminals before reinstallation. This can take hours, and it's a calculated risk that everything was done perfectly. Speed and precision rarely go hand in hand, especially when that competitor is up against a clock, due to compete again in what could be hours or minutes. We went to competitions, watched what was happening, and decided we could make it easier for them, and ultimately for a consumer.

@@Sheenoobie The L7X is 2k RMS. Published pricing is $699.
@@KICKER-AUDIO would much rather stick with the nsv5. Put the two side by side and see which one takes that 2k the longest
@@Sheenoobie If you do, please film it. With RMS power, in recommended enclosures, unedited. Both subs are awesome!
Serve pra som residencial?
So if i have a dual 1 i cant buy a dual 2 recone if i wanted to run a differenr impedance

That has to be the dumbest statement I've read all month.
I lost 20 iq points after reading this comment. Jesus Christ...
