- You've never seen a kayak like the new Jonny Boats Bass 100. A light and agile platform that is designed around a small outboard. The initial review is very promising. But, there are improvements that need to be done in order for this boat to be the perfect sight casting, skinny water, push polling ultimate machine.
I give my final thoughts at the end of the video to help you guys on your decision whether to purchase this boat or not.
Stay tuned for more adventures coming soon with this cool little mini boat.

This ain’t replacing my kayak as my main fishing platform. I’m planning to use Jonny for the further distance areas. Thanks.
RX Angler thank for answering all my question I been having with this boat. It will make a good bay boat or jetty platform.
Thanks for watching my man.
Hey RX, love all your vids. I have a question, with your honest opinion. I just bought my jonny 100, and waiting on my 2.5 Suzuki motor. My brother bought a hobie, and loves outback with a Bixby motor setup. My question is, we fish and do overnight camp trips, on a 700 acre Lake. I recently noticed you sold your jonny, and was shocked. Your a great mentor to watch and learn from. "Did you have a problem with water coming in the vessel from the sonar pod" I weigh 145lbs, and mostly freshwater gear, and camp gear. Love the boat, going to spend the winter setting her up. Would appreciate your opinion on that water coming in and what made you want to sell it. Be safe always. God bless Bro..🙏🙏
Lol.. "If you don't see this video, call the coast guard". Enjoyable video thanks
Appreciate the most honest review of the Jonny boat! Thank you Nick, once again another awesome video.
Appreciate it vato!
Would love to see you do a video breaking down everything you packed in the boat, how big is your gas tank/where is it set up? And all the accessories you had with you
good video bro keep up the good work
Thanks man!
Supperbb broww
You forgot to mention where you got the outboard motor from any links?
I finally found a suzuki df2.5 steering plate in a kit. Do you know if there are any available not in a kit?
Great job for a first take review. Agreed Jonny should have provided fixes during development for some of your complaints. Most of those were no brainers. Does that stand up rail get in the way for casting or reeling in your fish? Still looks intriguing.
It did get in the way in the beginning. However, after making some adjustments to the height, it became better.
Have you tried in the ocean ?
Is it stable or no?
Please I'm going for the same system you have.
Thank you
I have a jonny too and i cant seem to find a rod holder to put on the rail.what kind of rod holder fit.
Thank you.
You could move the rods to the grab bar. 👍🏻
Nice video! I always enjoy watching you take out your arsenal of boats.
Appreciate it bro!
Great honest review good job
Thanks Tim!
Great honesty review
Thanks man
I would rather have a 12 foot flat bottom all well on a trailer . very stable , same price as the jonny boat. it will go in 6 inches of water.
Another good one!
🤘
Twin troller is the way to go bro
MTZ Fishing
Not for the money it’s not. Apples to oranges. Totally different boat and market.
@@user-bx3zz9cx3y yeah it's a bit more expensive but it does the same thing that a kayak can do. The bass 100 cant do some things a kayak can.
Wonderful video, Nick!
Looking forward to the comparison video between this and the bote rover
Will do.
It looks like my Square back canoe has a lot more room than the Johnny boat it will take a 4 horse motor and it's almost 14 ft long and a lot cheaper than the Jonny boat
A Mantus anchor is the BEST!!
The only complaint I have is the area in the back you can not use a cooler.
What camera are you using bro 😎?
Nick, I saw you on the water today. I didn’t get a chance to say hi because I was re-rigging a line and didn’t realize it was you until after you had passed. The little Johnny boat was a dead giveaway. Scaring all the damn fish with your outboard. Just kidding, I don’t think there was any fish to scare. Don’t know how you did but it was a rough day for me. Managed to take a flounder though.
Nice man! Thanks for saying what’s up. I did okay with the redfish. A lot of guys were catching flounder up and down the channel.
This is my dream kayak!
The steering kit is simply a matter of adjustment. Yours is just adjusted a little off it sounds like.
I have a safety Oar that I take with me just like on my full size boat don’t really see the need for a built in paddle holder.
Thanks Nick. Perfect review.
🤘🤘🤘
Been waiting on this video...
How was paddling the Jonny? I'm thinking about picking one of these up but it would be a while before I could put a motor on it, so I'd be paddling it around until then.
Paddling would not be idea. It’s not designed to be a solo paddling kayak.
I love my but paddle is only for emergency hehe
How fast can you go with that engine
Hey Great Footage, I really like it subscribed!!
Thanks for the video! Looks like that stand up bar is in the way IMO.
It did in the beginning before I made some adjustments.
Been 10 months... how’s the Jonny Boat doing?
Very nice footage brother. Keep them lines tight🤙❤
Thanks!
How stable is when getting in and standing up?
Did you sell your BOTE Rover?
That's a pretty nice setup 👍 great job.
👍
what wheels are you using to carry it?
Love the videos!!
How much the kayak Indian rupees
Good review👍. A 12 footer with pedal drive for stealth and outboard for distance would be nice.
Excellent review which has highlighted pros and cons. I looked at this boat at a recent boat show but was not impressed by the steering set up. Would be much better off just using an extended tiller arm to steer. They need a paddle holder! Not sure how useful the centre pod is? If using a gas motor all that is required is a small sonar pod for fish finder.
Agreed! Thanks for watching.
Rivers end nice
NICE BRO!
How much did you pay for the boat with everything on it ??
Ware did you put in at?
Where exactly is this boat launch? I like the area
Awesome video!
Appreciate it
How much you think a troll motor and battery will add to the draft?
I don’t think it’ll be too much of a difference. But, I will test it when I get it in and let y’all know.
and i think yakattack made something to mount a power pole micro anchor for the track for the back of the jonny
It won’t work if there’s an outboard back there.
Nick I think you should have looked into buying a gheenoe instead of the Jonny boat
Maybe my next project 🤔
Thank you for the upfront non-biased review on your Johnny boat Bass 100
I'm impressed and with a few improvements it could be one of the top personal fishing platforms
Thanks for the nice words. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Thinking about getting would a 4 hp work or should I get a 2.5
It’s only rated for 2.5
That motor was probably the reason you bottomed out..
the most important thing was the distance and timeliness...the more remote marshes would scare off us *more mature* note I did not say... older.... guys, That motor and still kayak capabilities are what matters... Watched quite a few different ICAST videos and realized the head spokesman (owner?) was a New Zealander or it seemed like... so the Thai factory was no surprise. Still it looks like a nice ride, so new it will need a few "adjustments" but still a nice ride. Talk on the videos was there is a slightly different 12 +/- foot version coming, with would be shallower and quicker MAYBE?
They did confirm that a 12 ft boat was in development at iCast. It’s a shame that this original boat is made in Thailand. Hopefully in the future we will see made in USA boats from Jonny Boats. But, it’s a fun little platform as is.
Did you sell the Bote
Do you still have the Boat Rover?
action
You still have the BOTE Rover; how do they compare?
Antonio Saldivar night and day difference in weight, portability and ease of use
What's next? fishing out of a jetski.
Ser San that would be cool
Seems a bit cramped, but still very cool! You still have all the other watercraft youve gotten lately?
7citiesfishing yes
I'd be scared to death to stand up for fear of flipping and submerging that brand new motor.
By the way Suzuki motor need some registered something for launching. It's awesome!
I’m not sure what you mean. The kayak and motor have been registered in the state of Texas.
4 + 4 = 10? 🤔
My 16ft Key Largo will go in 8” water and it has a 60 Yamaha, lol
Do you to put tx# on that thing
Allen Tomlin not sure what you mean
Hey man could you do a review on your combo set ups
I will!
not too hot for shallow marsh sight casting it seems.
My brother looks like it's just too small and not well though. They need to come up with a 13 feet one for sure plus many options like paddle holder, rod holders, pre wired fish finder, etc has to be included not optional! For me it's a trial and error boat and it's a fail.. Thanks for the review👍😎
Hopefully, Jonny Boat listens to their customers. You are right! There needs built in options straight from the factory as you have stated.
Sounds like you want a square back canoe or a gheenoe
@@RXAngler I want an new outback with an outboard 😎🙏😉 😁 🤩 did I ask for too much 😆
Tell me the truth. How stable is the boat. I really need to know.
It’s stable as my Hobie Outback. The grab bars help a lot. I’m going to sell mine, send me an email texasrxangler@gmail.com
It’s a good boat but I need to move it out for another project.
Why are redfish called redfish they arnt red?
Seems the tri-hull design is taking away from the shallow water capabilities.. 8 inches for a kayak-like boat, if accurate, is not acceptable. Many full-fledge fiberglass boats can go down to 5-6 inches.
To narrow of a kayak also
Larry Christine it’s 36” wide. Seems wide enough for a kayak.
That looks really small
10 ft X 36 inches
>
Just buy a flats boat
To small
My friend you are wasting lots of money on this stuff... Dont forget about your family, bills and savings account
Ok?
He’s makes triple digit rx will be allright..😂
