Love these kayak videos 😂 Nice you finally jumped into a nice kayak. Aliex Folgueira put a 6HP Outboard on the Jonny boat that thing was insane. Ask that kayak dealer to let you try out a Hobie PA 360
That's cool to me. Truth is, I might have bought one of these in 2020 when I was actively looking at kayaks. Still might buy one in the future. I think that Gator Glide would help this thing immensely with paddling across the water and would help that little 2.5 Merc. too. That stuff is amazing!
Thanks for the info. not sure if gator glide will stick to HDPE.
The wheels are the key on my buddy’s Bass Hunter mini-pontoon plastic boat. Dragging through the bush it makes life way easier. 2 of us can easily stand and cast.
I'm a bigger guy who wants to get on the water with a Kayak so it would Def be helpful to see you mod out some kayaks and help people like me to figure out what to buy!

I think, Ease of paddling a kayak is size of the boat and weight. If you are too heavy for the kayak then its harder to paddle to move it.
If you can equip it with a spot lock version of the trolling motor with a remote control that you wear around your neck on lanyard you could skip that gas motor. Resulting in better balance and control of the craft. You might not even need to use the rudders. Granted it would only be for short distances, but I think the trade off would be worth it. Still I'll stick with my 14' v-hull... as a big guy I just feel safer and more comfortable on it.

@Ghhbjcvj G go gfuh boat pre covid was 899 and the motor was a brand new Suzuki 2.5 I think it was 5-600 transom plate was like 60$
@Ghhbjcvj G go gfuh remebr that was pre covid add about 100 to 200$ on everything. The yak is bit on the heavy side coming in at 100lbs

It's totally worth it I travel on lake Champlain anything over 1.5 ft wight caps gets narley. And on 2 gallons I get like 6hrs of motor time
I have option on one with outriggers and a roll bar to help with standing . $1.4K I'm thinking of getting it just to go for rides.

Only kayak I wanna see you do is 2 of them as pontoons and some aluminum to make a mini pontoon rig… for the money why wouldn’t someone just get one of those bass raider things.. 10ft and super stable
I trust my ten foot build I did over any kayak mine is pretty stable for being ten foot

That's a great little toy but to small 12 or 14 are great and put the epropulsion 1.0 on the back and haul ass blow by the other boats and don't forget your life jacket next time

boat is faster than my 6hp with a 16 feet, 575 pound boat
That boat needs a 25hp minimum
With an electric outboard you would need a 100 lb battery to get the same amount of energy out of a gas motor.
I would look at the epropulsion Spirit 1.0 electric outboard. It’s the exact same weight as the outboard, battery included.
@@TinyBoatNation fair point, however I'm talking about the energy density in gas compared to a battery. Gas has about 100x more energy density.
Gasoline energy density is 47.5 MJ/kg.
lithium-ion battery pack has about 0.3 MJ/kg and about 0.4 MJ/liter (Chevy VOLT)
Too many modified kayaks already out there. I've seen plenty of bad ass ultrex kayaks fully rigged. It really doesn't make sense to put anything more than a bad ass trolling motor with a lithium battery on one. Any kayak will move with a decent trolling motor. On that boat it looks like you would have to pick between gas or electric.That gas outboard is not a great setup for fishing. Maybe for intercoastal waters?!! I bet the electric version is better for bass fishing.

I had one.. its okay at most.. its a wanna be Solo Skiff. That thing will not last over an oyster reef. The FS12 is thicker than this..
Imagine, having to get tags in order to put a outboard on on kayak. It's illegal to put a motor on unless it's registered now.
