Talk about screwing up your kids, you two have done a fine job of it. You agree for your wife (their mom) to have a BF while married. Then you decide to start dating while still playing husband.
Those poor kids have no clue what a marriage or family even means. Yes she moved out to live with another man but you allowed it without any repercussions. Divorce should have been the very next day at a minimum.
I agree 100%. The kids are the ones that will be messed up in the long run. Imagine what their adult relationships will be like because of the examples of their 304 mother who abandoned them for a year. And their weak, spineless father who was a willing passenger on that train wreck of a marriage. Perfect example of what an open marriage does for a family. Some minor corrections. He would not have to pay alimony as he has custody. Any alimony would be offset by child support for THREE children. You could actually calculate the amount by going to your local family court website. And abandonment means there is no support he has no alimony to pay as well.

This story is ridiculous. OP, as a supposed lawyer, should have consulted with a divorce lawyer the moment his wife brought up the open marriage bs. Once he found out that she lied about her relationship with the 1st AP, he should have gotten a PI to get evidence then filed. Just plain stupid story for effs sake rather than dragging this out.
This is more of a wife abandoning her family than an open marriage. Still, once the husband wanted a divorce, that's when Victoria realized her lifestyle was going to change. She was using her SIMP husband for his resources, and didn't bring any new s-word knowledge back to the marriage. As if that would really happen. She only went into marriage-salvage mode because she was going to lose her ATM of a husband.

Everyone listening to this needs to remember something: This *STORY* is just an exaggerated example of why you divorce once the words 'open marriage' are spoken.
By that time, the person who mentions it has already picked someone to sleep with, or is already sleeping with them.
The marriage has been over for a long time, but one of them is just now finding out.
I know division of assets differs by country / state, but when it's total BS when abandonment or infidelity is the cause.
The cheating spouse should get less than nothing. As in, there should be a penalty (financial or otherwise) involved.
Oh, and mandatory paternality testing whan a child is born. But that would only increase in people going around that.

A great and patient husband. It takes abandonment for him to get full custody of the kids. When a wife asks for open marriage she has been cheating already. If he starts divorcing her right away he may loses the kids.
