Really love the segment "what did you learn this week?" I've asked my daughter every day what's she's learned today since she was 4 -- that's 15 years of having to think and be thoughtful 👊🏻👍🏻
So new channel Andy Cooks presents Katelyn Drinks???
My "local" or favourite spot would be Topolinos on St Kilda. Never lived local to it but always ended up there either after a night out or when friends asked where to have a good meal. Shootout to Matt Chris and the team there!!!
This is my Sunday evening Fav watch. I thought the whole "what did you learn this week" was a dig at Andy for originally asking his lovely lady this maybe patronising question. Don't come for me people. And now I have a feeling it's here to stay
Thank you for watching! Andy just loves asking anyone this question, makes people stop and reflect on the week which is probably a great thing.
The salad and fish looks amazing!
i came for you lmao how dare u.
Andy is obv genuine in his questions in wanting to know Katelyn's week and what she picked up along the week. that's a good thing and a caring thing. he's a great bf for that. they're both so sweet and i love that part honestly. makes me wanna know too lol so yea, don't assume he's an asshole just cus u maybe. men and women are not always a power play and who's more over who. they;re both people and it's wrong to assume cause he's a man he's being patronizing. no wonder he raises that mustache lol and it looks like u don't know how to pick up on things or body language, it was never funny or a dig. dude's just asking a question hanging out with his gf making dinner. honestly your question was patronizing and the whole lovely lady was too. she doesn't have to be lovely or a lady, she can just be a fking person. who she is. i mean, she is lovely lmaoooo but like f off lol
@@rihamkarim3644 my goodness I did say don’t come for me - we all love Andy that’s why we watch. How interesting that you assumed I assumed he was an asshole. I don’t think he is an asshole - In fact I don’t look at any human beings whether male or female as assholes. Every time someone saids how dare you I think - looks like I indeed dared. Blessings
I look forward to these videos 🙌🏻
I love how relatable this is. I myself loves cooking (not a professional chef though), and also while my girlfriend just sits or stands to talk a with me while cooking a nice dinner for two and she is drinking wine aswell, haha. Thanks for making these videos, makes me feel cozy! Love from Denmark
Always looking forward to watching this on Sunday evening to cap off the week. Very cozy and relaxing.
Really like these unscripted personal videos. I think like most folks I respond to authenticity and these videos hit that mark. Keep them coming!!!
My Grandchildren and Great Grands call me Nana ! love it ! I cook for them when they come to stay their favorite is my Pasta and homemade garlic bread , Love watching this channel always learn something new even though I live in the states !
Hi Andy & Kaitlyn ….love the vibe of this video-it’s relaxing & chill….I really enjoy watching Andy cook with ingredients that need to be used up quickly….great inspiration for the home cook!…I think it’s important to talk about what wine pairs with the food that’s being cooked-wine & food is a great combination…..hope to see more of Kaitlyn discussing wine!….Andy’s dish look amazing!🤗🤗❤️❤️😁😁
totally agree about fish and chips..that is battered english style is the way for me. nice and crunchy when well done. basically the only dish I do well and get asked to do often
Favourite local is Marsic Brothers Fish Shop, Glen Innes in Auckland - They have a sign in the window that simply reads "While you were sleeping". It refers to them having their own fishing boats and the overnight catch is what you buy in the morning from the window.
The food & wine content is definitely interesting, but watching you guys together is great fun!
Cheers from Texas!
Always love watching you two ❤
You are real and very relaxed. Love it.
I am a Kiwi and love crumbed fish over battered but hate that not many places do it here in NZ 😄
AGREED ! 😊
Love these videos. No pretentious cack, just good honest cooking
Mickie D's is what my hubs and I called it so the kids (when they were little bitty) wouldn't know what we were talking about 😅 I slipped up once when they were older and the look of realization on their faces was priceless!
How about a pork belly with crackling, black pudding and scallop starter.... Yes Andy!! Do it ❤
I don't go out for food that often at home, but I go to a town 30 mins drive away to get my hair done and every time without fail i grab a coffee and pastry from the place round the corner, it's always great! (And my grandparents live round there so i guess it is kind of local)
Love that format! So calm and wholesome, perfect for watching while eating 😊
been waiting for a format like this!
So glad i found you guys.love your content.
Enjoy these every weekend thanks guys
Loving these videos!
This is the best fun thing! You guys are awesome!
Katelyn and Andy. I absolutely love this channel. Thank you both so much for sharing. The personal way you do it is perfect, and the way you take the time to answer viewers questions is admirable .Please keep up this good work, as this channel, and these videos always bring a smile to my face. Peace and much ❤to you both. 🙂😎
Love your input on wines!
Keep it up!
I know a lot about cooking, but nothing about wines.
It’s an area I need to explore.
Lots of love from India 🇮🇳 ❤❤❤❤ very good content and your team is awesome 🤩 please visit India and make ghevar and dhokhla 😊
Hopefully one day. So much incredible food to try over there!
Depending on where in the country you're visiting when you're over in England; pudding, chips and gravy in a Northern chippy is the bomb 😍
Thank you all so very much for all your awesome content. Makes me smile everyday. Thank you for keeping me above ground chef. From 1 chef to another. Thank you all. Seriously. Your food is gorgeous. Thank you
OMG Foxton!!!! I have the most amazing memories of glorious summer days spent at the beach. My Dad was in the airforce, based at Ohakea and I spent my childhood growing up in Bulls. Been over in Aussie since '79 but still picture certain places from my childhood. Thanks for the mental trip down memory lane.
Viet Bakery, their coffee is done properly and meals are good to keep moving with, not so much a sit down but if short on time I will always go there to grab and go.
It's lovely to hear from you Caitlyn, and about you're interested in. I don't drink, but others do! I really love seeing you two interact. Local, is All Seasons Hotel $10 lunches. Love that.
Haven’t had the privilege of trying Aussie or Kiwi fish and chips, but as a Scot, I feel very confident we do great fish and chips! Agree with Andy, if it ain’t battered, it’s no fish n chips! Come to Scotland sometime and try some 🏴 much love to everyone ❤️
Love the under the shelf string lighting! It really warms up the room.
The local has to be the manly kitchen, its my old man and I’s Saturday morning ritual, I have to say how much I enjoy these videos its an awesome way to wind down Sundays, even gives what I think people expect out of mukbangs, sitting around chatting about food and our week, before we all get back to the work week, keep it up
Just love love your video great stuff keep doing them
Thanks so much!
Can’t wait for the merch! 😎 and I love these vids.
I don't drink either but love to hear Katelyn's information and opinions as much as Andy's food guru information and opinions.
Bark N Beans in Mooroolbark. The best coffee around here and Country Cob, they keep winning awards for their delicious pies.
I love these Sunday vids (I am in Sweden so about 8-10hrs behind)! I must say K looks a bit more buff or toned, cool! I love this combo of cooking and getting wine tips, it feels like home and a good company whilst doing other stupid things you need to online. I wish I could afford to come down under, but I would choose Noosa coz of the waves and not Maroochydore but things might have changed in 30yrs!?
You guys mentioned you would love to have someone with some culinary knowledge employed - If Andy is looking for someone in the culinary industry, my brother-in-law worked at Anglers Tavern as the head chef for many many years when living in Melbourne and has now moved to Currimundi, which i believe is not far from you guys! He would love to get back in to cooking and sharing his knowledge if you're interested!
My "Go to" local would be Kawana Surf Club when im up in Queensland (I travel up every 3 months to see the family). But at home, in Melbourne, would be Keilor's Fat Chef. Amazing food and just a great atmosphere.
Just found this channel off the back of Andy Cooks and im absolutely loving it. Very chill and it's great to see the raw footage of you guys in the Kitchen together!
I enjoy these 😊
My absolute favourite - not so local at the moment because I’m in Sydney - place to eat is the Fryer of Whitby at Mountain Creek, QLD. The best traditional English fish and chips I’ve had, outside of the UK.
Crumbed fish is the only way to go. I think its a QLD thing.
My fav local spot is a place called Toast. It's a breakfast spot and they have a small menu, but everything is great. My GF and I love to hit the farmers market and then stop by for a good meal.
Also wanted to add that I love this channel. I watch a lot of cooking youtube for instruction as well as entertainment, but this just hits different. It reminds me of the nights when me and the lady decide to eat in and I cook something for us and we just hang out, chat and eat something good. Great Vibes all around.
Andy a suggestion for you… place your cherry tomatoes between two small plates hold it together and then slice between the two plates and slice them all at once. Love these videos
🤣🤣oldest trick in history buddy
Hey guys, absolutely love these long form episodes of yours, keep them coming, I had question a about indian cooking, which one is your favourite indian dish, can you do one episode with some indian dish like a curry or biryani whatever works for this 40 min episode?
I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and watch these every Sunday morning and have enjoy everyone, keep them up please. We have a good selection of eateries locally, such as Shoeless Joes (Sports Bar), Montana's (BBQ and Bar), State and Main (Steak House) all very good for a date night.
A suggestions for the dishwasher dilemma … make a two sided sign Clean / Dirty, laminate it if you can and find a magnet to keep it on the front of the dishwasher 👍
I don't know if that will make Andy change his habits haha
I just found nthese videos! I love how laid back they are 😊
Proserpina when we were in Melbourne (absolutely banging meat pie with incredible tomato relish) and Timbre Kitchen now that we're down in Launie. Somehow ended up doing a complete 180, going from brunch dates to dinner dates since moving (not that I'm going to complain, good food is good food!).
I really like this two guys. I watch them from Milan and I always ask to myself: "Andy doesn't drink, really?" Someone knows why? Sorry for the silly question but I am very curious to know something that probably all want to know, or that already all know except me 😅
Im completly in love in yours 'what you learn this weak' question. It gives you just random topics in conversation without even trying 😍
Recently I spend some time learning about velveting technique (of course because of Andy's yt short) and I came across his comment about corn starch and corn flour that apparently those are the same. Can these be used interchangeably or what did Andy have in mind? Thanks in advance for answer! 😊
Keep up your awesome work! Love from Poland 🇵🇱 ❤
Yaay my fave watch of the week is here. While cooking lunch and discussing pans with my partner because I ruined one last night. Non-stick will never be my friend I guess. Carbon steel all the way for me.
Fave spot around town will always be Frederico's they have amazing bratwursts with homemade sauerkraut and cheesy fried leftover potatoes.
Hey you 2! Love this format!!!
I live in Amarillo, Texas and our "fav go to" is on Route 66. It's called Smokey Joe's and it used to be a "Biker Bar" and years ago, they kind of changed the format and started using the kitchen. The best burgers and "fries" and also chicken fried steak. It's served with either regular cream gravy or with Jalapeño cream gravy. We always get it with the jalapeño version. The grill several slices of jalapeño and place them over the the gravy. They have live music (usually rock or blues) and the bikers still hang there but so do a lot of us older and younger non bikers. We all get along, just fine, too!😉❤️🤣 Good food and live music! It works for us!!!
Loved the Foxton reference, parents owned a dairy at the beach for a long time
Love these segments. I enjoy your chats so much
After being in the WA for more than a decade we finally found the great Winston’s Fish n Chip food cart. Better than any restaurant we’ve tried before. We have been in search since moving from Atlantic Canada.
I'm super lucky and have an amazing cafe down the road that do a stella brunch, pastries and coffee and then at night it opens as a killer Italian restaurant.
Grilled fish over battered fish any day. But must have mushy peas and a good tartar sauce.
Favourite local is Oblivion Bar & Kitchen in Cape Town. Go there for morning coffee and poached egg and avo toasties. Also quiz night every Monday. Good food and good vibes. 👌
Btw, you should go to Cape Town, standard of food all over the city is exceptional.
Cape Town is definitely on the list!
Greetings from Sunny Coast Florida, Clearwater, St Pete etc. My best local dine in is called Dang Good Sushi, named after the owner named Dang. Started out as a food truck and now serves the best sushi in area from a brick and mortar and is within 3 miles of home!
Thank you for doing this home dinner format. It's so much better than Alton Browns impromptu dinners on QQ with his wife.
I see Baramundi all the time while kayaking here in the grassflats of the gulf.
looks great
My some what "local" is the British Fish and Chippy in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. Exactly what Andy said about the in house prepared double fried chips, with BATTERED cod and cannot forget the "Curry" Sauce. If I could put it in a cup I would drink it instead of dipping the chippies in. However the Australian partner prefers them covered in Chicken Salt. Can confirm its better than the malt vinegar and normal salt. (hot take?)
I'm with babe, crumbed fish is the GOAT!
Hello from Canada, love this channel so chill! I was surprised when you didn’t make a warm salad…..brown the potatoes etc. could be nice too
These vids are so good to wind down with on a Sunday night. I made your chicken, beans and fennel meal the other day. Solid meal to last me a few days.
That's awesome, it's a great meal!
These vids are so great to listen to in the background while cleaning the apartment or working out, love it.
Anyway, my favorite local place here in Prague, Czechia is Paprika - an Israeli place that makes amazing hummus with chicken shawarma. It has 3 locations in the city, and I always end up in one of them after going for a walk.
So many of your videos, I see in the comments "love this format!". Today it's my turn - just having a chat while doing the cook, keeping us current with where the cook's at as you go, with y'all's personalities front and center, good stuff!
Crumbed fish is my go to. I'm with babe on this one = )
Well, how bloody lovely. Thank you for reading out my comment. I'm sure the video is as enjoyable as is usual - it's become part of a good start to a calm and relaxing Sunday morning for me - but I'm afraid that I'm currently busy sharing it with everyone I know, yelling "THIS IS ME! LOOK! I'M FAMOUS!" 😀 I'll watch the rest properly soon, I promise
I don’t drink but I like the wine talk, particularly your passion for it Kaitlyn
Andy! A fellow east coast 90's hip hop head :) Keeping the Golden era alive. Go to would be criminal coffee in M'dore or B'fresh at Warana!
Hi Andy and Katelyn. Greetings from Adelaide. My go to place is the Duck Inn. I love the talking about the wine, so ok to keep doing that for me. I wait with anticipation to see what’s in store for your store 😉
To reference the movie that was my introduction to my obsession with everything Strayan, “Barramundi’s a bloody big fish”.
Our local favourite is wagamama...having never tried ramen before, it was a gateway into asian food for me, no I can't get enough!
I’ve never been a proponent of cast iron pans but I do adore my AllClad stainless steel set.
“Local” favorite, but not really local is Punch Pizza. US chain of wood fire pizza that is very tasty. Easily finish off a half Punch Salad (greens, balsamic vinaigrette, prosciutto, pine nuts) and a Maximus pizza with fresh mozzarella, crushed tomatoes, olives, pepperoni. Would do it at home if I had the equipment.
Thanks for another great video!
Love this content guys! Looking forward to it weekly now!
I’ve got to side with Andy here - love a good serving of battered fish from a take away shop wrapped in newspaper!
Ps. Andy I know you’ve been working out for a while, not sure if anyone has said but you’re looking good man, keep up the great work. Katelyn of course you look great too!
I'm an Aussie and I'm on Andy's side regarding the battered fish! :) Love the content guys.
It’s not just an Australian thing we call McDonalds Micky D’s here in the States too.
As for local, I don’t go out much anymore due to peanut allergies. So I got my Bachelors in Culinary Arts and pretty much cook for myself. No need to go out and spend after that.
Love these vids! Santino in Wollongong NSW is the shiz
Re your Bugle. My Dad was an engineer and test pilot for the engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney here in Connecticut USA during WWII and had missions in the South Pacific with Charles Lindbergh. Unfortunately he passed away when I was just 10. Re favorite meals has to be enjoying fresh seafood in Nice and incredible pasta and wild boar in Rome.
Came for the food. Stayed for the vibe. :3
I like the wine talk, even though I'm not into wine ^^
And my lokal coffee place is "Rösttrommel" in Erlangen Germany
We’ve just moved to Hervey Bay so still discovering places, but we love heading to The Bakers Room for a morning coffee and pastry before a walk on the beach. We also have a few fish and chip shops we ❤ Migaloos and Maddigans are our top picks
Battered fish all the way. Also weirdo, found the eastern states only do crumbed squid rings, but in WA they are battered. So much better.
Mascot Corner Cafe in Sydney.. just the best brekkie/ brunch u can ever get.. happy food ❤
mashed peas and irish stew. Martabak manis
Question for Andy and Katelyn: What is you're favorit Swedish food/snack?
Have you guys ever eating Swedish Kroppkakor or in English Swedish boiled potato dumpling.
Talk about fish, the best seafood in Sweden in my opinion is on Sweden West Cost where i from, we have that in Gothenburg and Smögen.
The Prawns, Shellfish and crustacean are the best here on the west cost.
And finnaly, when can we swe you guys in Sweden for food tour?
Greetings from Robin, Sweden.
Nice wine. That Stargazer 2022 Chardonnay is £45 (86 $aud) in the UK. Tasmanian wine seems pretty interesting, randomly I got to try some Tasmanian Pinot Noit a couple of days ago and it was very good.
I love Tassie Pinot Noir as well, really beautiful wines!
Crummed fush is beautiful but only if it's Seasoned and cooked correctly!
Top Impression bakery. A fun mix of Asian and Australian. Hot Chocolate FTW =)
Pane e vino cbd in brsibane before they closed, had a great big brekkie for only $10 and their italian hot chocolate was the best brekkie dessert in town (was more of molten chocolate perfection but still liquidy enough to be a hot chocolate) plus was only like $5 bucks! $15 for a big brekkie and amazing hot chocolate can't go wrong, I miss it
Battered vs Breadcrumbed. In the UK battered is the the way. You don't really see breadcrumbed fish, although rather randomly, the local chippy when I was a kid did do Plaice in breadcrumbs! But generally, yeah batter.
Mashed peas and Irish stew. Martabak manis
My local is a place called Chuck's Hop Shop in the Seward Park neighborhood of Seattle, WA USA.
The business was started by a Korean-American guy named Chuck and they've expanded to three locations. They're a mix of a book store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant, and bottle shop. My partner and I will go for a walk or run along Lake Washington after work and end at Chuck's for a smash burger and a pint. Great spot!
hey guys, so excited to watch. for dinner? hahaha love y'all. Andy, love you bro!
My absolute fave is Dixies (Glencairn, Cape Town, South Africa)........THE BEST BITTERBALLEN EVER!!!!! Obviously amazing seafood as well...... A glass or 2 right on the coast......hmmmmm😚
My local is the Chippie, Marina Fisheries in Petone. They use tallow in the fryers!! I order less than I would elsewhere and it's delicious
Definitely battered, not crumbed for fish n chips.
Our local is Nightcliff markets in Darwin on a Sunday morning, Banh Mi and a fresh juice for breaky
I have two favourites depending what I'm after. One is a brewery pub 'Majornas Bryggeri', with a fantastic assortment of their own hand craft beer. The menue is a bit limited and mostly vegan, still good though. If I want meat, there's Red Lion, a british style pub with a really good chef, mean burgers, steak sandwiches, ribs and game, he does it all. Both a stones throw from home.
Great episode, I recently learned of Barramundi and it is in fact native to Australia. I have another favorite channel called B2B Castaways (Strick and Fran) that fish for and catch them more than any other fish. It looks delicious.
