- The Batman Arkham series is adored by superhero and video game fans alike. When Batman Arkham Knight finally launched, a lot of players thought that this was the end of the franchise. Then, we later found out that Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League was set to be in the same continuity as Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Origins, Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate and Batman Arkham Knight. If they made an Arkham game in between origins and asylum I think it would make more sense to have roger craig voicing batman. Plus having the map size be the whole of Gotham, Arkham city and the asylum.
That would be my perfect arkham game. Redeem origins, bring back underutilized characters like black mask or deadshot. Dive deeper into the batfamily. And yes, help redeem Troy bakers joker, albeit not in a spot lit role

I REALLY hope WBD and Gunn does a special tribute to him for the anniversary of his death, like release Mask of The Phantasm, Subzero, Mystery of Batwoman, and Return of the Joker (uncut) in theaters or at least do an all day marathon on Cartoon Network.

A batman beyond game would be a great way to evolve the Arkham series in all aspects, new characters, new city layout, u can bring old characters in new plots which would be good

Personally I would really love a Nightwing game set in the Arkham universe and with probably Deathstroke as the main villain. I would especially love that because I kind of hate that a lot of people assume that Deathstroke is a Batman villain or even a Green Arrow villain when in reality he is a Titans villain and more specifically Nightwing's are enemy with the same voice actors for the characters from the Arkham games. I think the idea that he was a Batman villain started with the cinematic trailer of Arkham Origins back in 2013. Another potential idea for a spin-off could be an Azrael game with completely different mechanics and settings and a story set around him confronting the order of Saint Dumas and maybe Michael finding out that he wasn't even the first Azrael and that way he could maybe confront Jean Paul Valley.
Same! I really liked the Nightwing-DLC in Knight but always thought it was too short, so I would love a whole game about him. The Batfamily in general was pretty undertutilized in the series unfortunatly, save for Barbara and Tim.
Most media does Nightwing dirty as a character, and I would love the Arkham Universe to do justice to the character. Also, making it take place in Bludhaven would be an interesting setting for an open-world game in general.
The Arrowverse screwed so much up. Particularly by making people think that Green Arrow is a lot more competent than he actually is and making people think that Deathstroke is far less formidable than he actually is. Green Arrow is kinda the weakest member of the Justice League.
Or maybe even a game where u play as deathstroke. I'd kill to have fleshed out gameplay of the terminator

I really hope they do a Batman beyond follow up to the Arkham series. I think that’s the best choice as they have all the material to work with from all the Arkham games and I feel like they could do something really cool with neo-Gotham. There’s also some really cool bosses to use from the animated series like inque, shriek, spellbinder, blight, the royal flush gang, currare etc. They could also bring back Bruce as a mentor and other bat family character and villains too and show how they’ve changed. It’s probably unlikely they’ll do this but I think it would be an obvious direction for them to go in.
I've come into the game extremely late with your Arkham videos cause I only discovered your channel a couple months ago, and I've binged a lot of the older videos from a few years ago. They're like chicken soup for my soul. I loved playing Origins, Asylum, and City a great deal years ago and played them all multiple times. Recently I was replaying City for the first time in years, but I got sidetracked with Final Fantasy 16. Anyway, watching your videos over the past couple months here and there have really given me a lot of great feels, and seeing a new Arkham video pop up today was instant excitement. Thank you for what you do.
The thing is sadly this Rocksteady is not "the Rocksteady". I gave up on them a pretty long time ago

I always wish I could've recorded this and I'm not sure if this is like a common thing everyone has heard, but in Arkham Knight there's a thug voice line where they're talking about batman after he is unmasked, and he goes (paraphrasing i dont remember exact words) "idk I think that maybe he'll leave gotham for a while, but after some time I'm sure he'll return". Now a lot more was said but it was clearly a fan service line alluding to future arkham games that I swear to god is real and I'm so upset I didn't have any clipping software at the time.
As much as I enjoy the Batman Arkham series overall as it partly make me a Batman fans today I feel like it time for other superheroes games to rise up like what Insomniac doing with Spider Man for example that just my opinion on this

Jay, just wanna throw it out there, i really hope you have more financial luck. I love watching your videos Batman Arkham related content and i recently got back into Batman as a whole. I been steering away due to how the hiatus of rocksteady is going on especially with gotham knights mixed bags. As for this topic, I'm still lost of words of what's going to happen to rocksteady's games. I was heartbroken that batman arkham beyond game is scrapped but that's something we really really needed. It's a huge shame.
I want to have the Batman Robert Pattinson version suit in the Arkham games if they came back you know it's time. People have probably already modded that in there in one of the games though

I know exactly why Sefton Hill left. He seen the game industry change pretty drastically (from 2009-present) and when he seen the ideas laid out by the higher ups he bolted. I really do think its as simple as that. He didn't want a live-service and monetized gamed for the universe HE established. And as a pessimist (you can disagree with me irdc..) I truly dont think the arkham series that we once knew will ever come back.
It's not being pessimistic you're just being realistic. I myself lost hope of this series coming back especially after suicide squad.
Hmm I was really upset Arkham knight was the end. I wished there were at least 3 more installations, maybe a game where Bruce has to protect Gotham from the league of assassins. The second game could be all of Batman rogues have escaped and he has to capture them. The last one could be Bruce has to return because his family, can't handle this new threat the KG Beast only one can survive maybe Azrael could help Batman as a co-op game. Maybe after the game Azrael does become Gotham's guardian

My stance on this is that they should continue the arkhamverse where they have batman work alongside Robin (Grayson) and Batgirl (Gordon) in origins at the early moments in his career.
Plus I like Rodger Craig Smith as the voice of a younger dark knight (in origins) that is still learning in his early career. And having him face against his other rogues like Poison ivy, Harley Quinn, the beginning of riddler and two-face, facing against Prometheus (the anti-batman), and maybe throw in original characters like red claw from the animated series.
I think a prequel to Arkham Asylum might be one of the best options. Get the story leading up to Joker's arrest in the GCPD building, maybe mix in some side stories from Gordan's perspective or even the Joker.
Idk I think of seven missed opportunities rocksteady should have done instead of they did.
about Sefton hill, everyone knows how he's really passionate about wat he does especially when it comes to the arkham games considering he really fought wb to prevent them from censoring things in knight that would ruin the story. seeing him leave on this controversial game and even before it releases says something 🧐

I think a prequel to the Suicide Squad game could work. Just have it be a tie in where the Justice League form off the heels of the Arkham Knight incident and then have the ending set up Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.
In my opinion IF we ever get an arkham game it wont be the same quality and love they put in the Arkham series many people that worked ieith rocksteady left,and making a game with the new standards will be hard

I think that’s a great point with Gotham knights not being what the Arkham fans wanted. I think even if it’s an ok game people still want an Arkham Batman stealth takedown gadget using game. The whole switch thing is stupid for sure. I’ll buy the cartridge just because at the end of the day it’s still 3 games 20 dollars each compared to 2 30 dollar games. I have hopes on the quality but honestly looking at games with hype around them like Metroid prime and tears of the kingdom I’ll try to be realistic about it
Yeah, you've had me thinking of this lately too. Just because they killed off the character doesn't rule out another prequel. If they hadn't made Origins, Batman's death would have more permanence. But now there's this very long period between Origins and Asylum that has yet to be covered. They can try to ignore Origins and all that, but it's there and it was great, and sets a precedence that says the show is never done. Nor should it be.
Besides, much as I love Gotham Knights, one thing the game has made very clear is that Gotham isn't Gotham without Batman. Leave the Joker out if you must, that's fine. He's just one of a very big rogue's gallery. Even if they never get into true origins (which they really haven't, you know) There is just so much to be told still.
As for me, I'm kind of sick of DC insisting on Batman being retired, dead or missing all over the place. Bring him back, I say! I would even be willing to play in the Bat tank, if need be (although I really didn't care for those tank battles, let's be clear on that). Doyle wasn't allowed to let Sherlock stay dead, and Batman should follow suit.
They could easily make a game based on Assault On Arkham but in Batman’s perspective. They could also combine all of the maps together as one, Arkham City, the other part of Gotham (from Origins) and also Gotham city as a whole (as in Arkham Knight)
I absolutely hate that everyone is turning to roger craig smith to be the next batman. I hate to be that guy but troy baker is the obvious next choice for batman. He was batman in lego batman 2, 3 and supervillans, all the lego batman movies (other than THE one with will arnet) batman and superman battle of the super sons, and so many more. Whipe roger was batman in batman unlimited and he is amazing in games like dying light and resident evil to me he is just the young batman and we need troy baker.

Arkham Origins did not have Kevin Conroy. Origins sequels are the way to go.
I don’t think that’s true. Any game with Batman will sell well as long as the game is good. Kevin Conway was not the main reason why those other games did well in my opinion. He was a terrific voice actor but I would’ve bought the game regardless without his voice.
I would still like to see the Damian Wayne Batman game Revived and Reworked as well(Which I am going to make my Version of Damian's Batsuit) as a Remaster of Arkham Origins and a Sequel

I am personally still livid that Suicide Squad as a games as a service was ever even entertained, especially in hindsight with the passing of Kevin. Which, sure, in complete fairness, nobody saw coming. But the thought that his last ever performance as a character that meant so much to so many people could one day be shut down and lost forever because WB/Rocksteady decided they didn't wanna support the game anymore is...harrowing, frankly

Id be alright if Roger takes over the mantle, if they keep the Batman games in that Origins era. It's more about doing service to the character, you want to know the character is getting taken care of and is going to thrive. It's not just about the voice actor it's about the company as well. It really sucks to see the last portrayal of a defining actor be in a terrible experience. Leads me to believe that the studio doesn't care about the character and so that character no longer exists, that character died with it's voice actor.
The arkham series is over. The developers have confirmed multiple times. The only way that theres going to be any mention of arkham batman is if they release more games in the same universe, otherwise there is no games coming out.

It would be amazing to have a prequel. They could make a new Arkham game set between Arkham origins and asylum. Having Gotham City look massive and add villians that we haven’t seen yet in the Arkham verse. They should have the Batmobile but not make it into a tank
Something like that where a lot of the villains from the character bios in asylum are there with actual boss battles could work and I see something like in knight where once the villains beat you would put em in the Batmobile and take them to Arkham asylum
I feel like a post apocalyptic batman beyond/dark knight returns with Sam witwer as Damian Wayne/ Terry mcguiness would be really good. The main villian could be a reincarnation of the joker and you could have superman in it as this fallen god. You could have the girl robin as a sidekick and as for supporting characters you could have old versions of characters like tim drake as police commissioner or killer croc as an old beast. Also add in some new villains not from the comics. The open world could be dilapidated and futuristic with horror elements. No batmobile.

I actually think that Arkham doesn't need a continuation. Despite all Knight flaws it was good ending to the series. Continuing it after so many years is feeling like digging a corpse out of the ground
I find it hard to think that WB/D do not want to, at one point, develop the Arkham Universe with Batman at the forefront. Considering how popular the Arkham games were. I do completely agree however that big media companies only look at the bottom line and make snap decisions. So despite having all versions of the Arkhamverse already, I’ll buy the Switch version regardless despite being annoyed that a couple of the games are digital only - mainly because I feel that this how we get more Arkhamverse in the future. I 100%ed Asylum, City and Origins back in the day (and technically Knight as well), but I never got to play the Knight Story DLC.

I personally would love for rocksteady to add more season of imfamy side missions. Have bane, Prometheus, black mask, Mr Zasaz, and Scarface! If they don't want to add them in season of imfamy. Then use them for dlc side stories and have different members of the bat family to deal with them. Adding batwoman would be real cool.

The “Batman ‘89” demo game should be made as well. Such a great concept that needs to be released for new fans and old alike. If anything, I’ve noticed a sabotage of DC properties and ip’s over the past years. Not sure how to help there.. Support the Arkham-verse!

If they made a Batman Beyond video game you can easily recast Kevin by having a different actor give a more aged approach to Bruce Wayne.
We have 2 options for an arkham game, 1 is an arkhams origins 2 game with Craig Smith returning as batman, the other is an arkham game basically like gotham knights with the bat family I'd call arkham legacy
I think they could do a lot with that series still specifically with Batman. Either prequel or sequel to knight would work imo. The games truly stand the test of time and are honestly better than some games today even! I would love for origins to get a remaster but I would also like a whole new game in general. I personally would love to see a Batman game where his main villain is court of owls. There’s also tons of villains that were alluded to in previous games that were never brought to light. In regards to Conroy, he truly embodied that character and nailed it but I’m sure Kevin would want the legacy of the Batman to live on!

Rocksteady is one of the most talented developers out there. I'd imagine that developing a live service game was something that Warner Brothers pushed rather than it being something Rocksteady actually wanted to do. Hate to see it, we all saw how this went with Bioware and EA. Still hoping that Suicide squad turns out well but even if it doesn't, i hope rocksteady will be given more creative freedom in future titles, seeing how Single Player games have seen a massive surge in popularity while live service games are flopping left and right.
Batman Beyond is the only way to level up with a. Very vertical city structure. Unfortunately we lost Kevin conroy. I still feel like we should have had this game by now instead of suicide squad.
I would MUCH prefer origins sequels that keep it Gotham, vs squeezing JL in to that world in any major way.\m/ Give me an origins sequel before any other ideas. Origins sequels erase the Conroy issue (he didn't voice Batman in Origins), while giving fans more of what they are after. Every sequel could focus on 1 major villain, with appearances from others in side quests. Imagine every sequel REALLY focusing on 1 major bad guy. Would expand things greatly.
They would make bank if they released another DLC for Knight. Even after alnost a decade.
Personally i wanna see something based around a completely silent/mysterious Nightmare Batman mixed with a Gotham by Gaslight mini story. Maybe having to do with an original character based around Spring Heeled Jack instead of Jack the Ripper (Because that was originally based off Joker)

The only reason I think they are making most games digital is because of the “release half game fix later” practice. Like saints row ,cyberpunk. Many other examples yes they can do it with physical as well, but the devs cannot fully control your physical game. If you don’t want to update then don’t , go offline. Digital your forced to use a internet connection just to play it not to mention the consoles online membership which is getting more expensive.
What these digital Bros don't understand, is if they go to an all digital platform a company owns the game, you don't. They can take it away for whatever they want or whenever they want.
To me in a time where the Spiderman games are some of the hugest releases for PlayStation now is the perfect time for a new arkham entry.
If wb is smart they would see the trend of classic game full remakes at the minute (resident evil, dead space, etc) and remake arkham origins from the ground up maybe even make a few plothole tweaks to help fix the arkham timeline that the original messed up, see how it performs and then if it performs really well then use it as the launching off the for a sequel.
Imagine a arkham origins sequel let’s call it arkham begins where the whole entirety of Gotham is playable including Wayne manor ,arkham asylum etc. you have loads of villains that people have always been teased in arkham such as ventriloquist, Prometheus, killer moth, calendar man etc. Batmobile is playable but it’s pursuit mode only. Robin is fully integrated with dual play throughout the whole story and maybe they use the nemesis system I just think the reception for a game like that would be wild
I then think in a third game you could go really wild and play with batman visiting other dc cities as a concept such as metropolis and and central city and then a fourth and final game doing batman beyond like we have a so much more for this franchise to give

The future state (a bit of a joke there if you follow Batman comics) of the Arkhamverse; great topic. It’s all but dead at this point, especially with Kevin Conroy gone. But I do see several paths forward for this continuity. Arkhamverse Beyond, Arkhamverse Rebirth, & Arkhamverse Chronicles. Beyond would focus on Terry McGinnis & Damian Wayne. Rebirth would build a new verse from Arkham Origins & Blackgate. And Chronicles could be about the greater Batfamily; both interring canon into the original timeline & creating new canon within other versions of the larger Arkham Multiverse.

What I’d want is a game with all
the Arkham Knight mechanics but set in a different art style from the comics.
Like a wacky 1950s Gotham City.
Or the Dark Knight Returns 80s style Gotham.
Or the 1800s from Gotham By the Gaslight.
The premise of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is interesting, but I would've preferred games focusing on the remaining Bat Family. I would much rather see a sequel game or trilogy with Tim Drake as Batman's successor, or a midquel game or trilogy with Barbara becoming Batgirl. Some spin-offs with Nightwing and Catwoman in their own games would've been lovely. Hell, I wouldn't mind a sequel to Arkham Origins. Oh, and wouldn't it be nice to have a remaster of Arkham Knight for PS5 and Xbox Series X would be nice?

Bruh all you have to do to bring Roger Smith back without it feeling like he is replacing conroy is to just do an Arkham origins sequel. That way he’s still young and it makes sense for him to voice the character
To be fair, regarding Timm's DCAU the comic Batman: The Adventures Continue does extend the continuity of that universe. And I think that's the most plausible way to go about it since Kevin Conroy's passing.
He was the heart and soul of Batman of that universe, and I just don't wish to see any followup with a different actor voicing the character.
I have the similar reasoning with the Arkham series.
Really not a fan of having another actor voice Batman especially post-Knight since Kevin's passing (some will argue saying another actor continuing will be honoring Kevin, but I actually see it the other way around), and with Roger doing an Origins sequel? I mean I guess that's doable, but I'm not sure they should.
Origins while I liked the game, already had some problems with how it contradicted some chronology/lore set by Rocksteady's games. I'd imagine further entries will result in more contradictions and just make the whole thing be.....messy to say the least.
So I guess I'd prefer they just put the franchise to rest and move on; yes, Gotham Knights was a disaster, but I think that game had issues which are much more than just "it's not Arkham" that led to its failure.
A Deathstroke game would be sick! I saw in origins you can play Deathstroke in the combat simulator, so a Deathstroke game setting place after Arkham knight would be sick!
It really has become a thing with these companies, like warner and Disney, and so many others: they are all about the almighty dollar and what they can push out rather than focusing on the quality of their product and what the fans want. People who run these companies really don’t listen to the fans anymore. All they care about is lining their pockets with green.
I think these companies could produce some great quality items, whatever their market is, if they also took the time to listen to fan creators, who are coming up with movies and video game ideas that are better than watch people these companies are hiring. There is a creator here on UA-cam, created a great story four and then Arkham game sent between origins and asylum that explores Did Grayson and his time as Robin and what his relationship with Batman is. I would pay top dollar for a game like that.
We could have an arkham origins sequel that focuses on Batman and dick graysons’s robin. We could have a story that focuses on villains other than joker. There is so much potential to fill in the gap between origins and asylum.

I wish they would just do more dlc for their games. I don’t need a whole new game, but new missions would be nice.
Assassin’s Creed guys would make a great Batman game. I would pay full price for just a Wayne Manor.
You're so right about when people say "just let them move on to something else" when there is such a great structure already in the arkham series and everyone loves it. The potential is unreal and they just left it.
The obvious route is a trilogy with Roger set between Origins and Asylum.
The issue with having batman back in arkham is how big Kevin impacted the universe of Arkham if people understand that they are not replacing him Maybe they can continue but i personally feel that arkham knight was a perfect end for batman and seeing batman in Suicide squad as a side character is perfect just so we know hes still around

What you're really arguing in support of here is nostalgia. You want the good old days, are wary of the present, and are apprehensive of the future. The good old days are gone, enjoy what was, but that doesn't mean what is to come is nothing but darkness. I find, as I get older, that every now and then, something will drop that surprises and delights my inner child. At the same time, the consistent dismantling of things you enjoyed will begin to grate on you. Look for the new and enjoyable. Remember the fun, safe spots, but you can't stay on a sinking ship forever. Also, poor storytelling and lazy design should never be rewarded, no matter the bait they dangle in front of you.
Rocksteady universe’s dark knight returns/return of the joker. Matches up with arkham knight ending (ignore justice league) Batman public ally returns when joker returns from the dead and terrorizes Gotham like never before. Make it rated M to take full advantage of the dark theme and make this the game where (not only joker is found out to be a clone or some situation where it’s not the real one) and have Batman actually truly die on screen to establish Batman beyond in the rocksteady universe and open up the possibility for a Batman beyond trilogy, with cyberpunk inspirations not only in Gotham but on the abilities side. A full super suit for Batman, with detective mode, more Spider-Man type acrobatic abilities and next level gadgets. Plus traversal with the new suit would basically be like flying around as iron man. It’s a no brainer cash cow to me
