    I love these tips. I always made sure I’d dress appropriately and now that I’m a mom of two still dress this way 😆

    Linen pants were my go to last summer!! Nice and flowy/breathable, great for those hot days when I was going out with the kids and wanted to have my leg tattoos covered (my family was comfortable with me having them showing around the kids, but i preferred to dress conservatively at the country club or other outings)

    Such a great video. I gave up wearing leggings(unless it's with a longer top covering my tush) after a couple men told me that leggings are very sexy. Much like painted pants showing every little detail. They explained that they make it difficult for them not to notice and entertain thoughts they really don't want. I think dressing modestly as a nanny is also a wonderful way to show respect to the wife. I know wives do appreciate this when we're working with and around their husbands and boys. Always wonderful to show respect and love in these ways. Thank you again for great content!

      Leggings pretty much standard where I live but I can see that others might not feel the same and find them to form fitting.

      If your nanny family’s husband of the family can’t control themselves maybe they need to address that and familial issues before hiring a nanny. It isn’t my problem or responsibility and I don’t like the husbands. That’s flipping bizarre

    Don’ts:
    - high heels
    - ripped/stained clothing
    - low cut tops
    - thin leggings
    - dangly earrings/large accessories
    - your fav outfit
    - messages on tshirt and across booty like ‘juicy’
    - heavy makeup/perfume
    - crop tops
    Dos:
    - mirror what the family wears
    - comfortable closed toes if active (slip on like toms/vans)
    - flip flops/sandals
    - jeans, leggings, khakis, cargo pants
    - shorts that cover booty
    - T-shirts, long sleeves, sweaters, cardigans, jean shirt

    TY for all the great tips. I wear skirts instead of shorts. They usually have a spandex short attached for coverage. All the benefits of shorts but it looks a bit more put together. Avoids any dress code issues if you are going somewhere with the family. I'm a teacher and shorts are usually not allowed.

    Thanks for another great video, I agree with everything said in the video, Exocet I do think ripped jeans depends on the family. I work for a very laid back casual family and they could care less if my jeans are ripped. :) always best to just ask parents what they expect of you dresscode wise

    Having a dress code as a nanny is appropriate because professional dress will not distract from what you are doing as a nanny

    Would it also be acceptable to wear a dress to a nanny job? I like to wear the kind of 50s inspired dresses that end around knee length (of course I would stay clear of dresses with too much cleavage)

    • @TheNannySolution
      @TheNannySolution  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, it is fine to wear a dress. Just keep in mind what you are doing for the day. If you are riding a bike or playing at the park in the dirt it might not be the best choice.

    • @Vega921
      @Vega921 2 роки тому +1

      That is exactly what I wear as a nanny everyday! I find a simple house dress style with very washable material to be the most comfortable option for me. I often add big pockets into them as well, there are some great UA-cam tutorials for that! Plus you can just add tights and a sweater in the winter so you don’t have to change your wardrobe too much!

    I think jeans aren’t appropriate because they’re not active attire and you are inevitably are going to be active working with children but they are no more or less professional than leggings so I completely disagree with that. Also, stained clothing or ripped clothing is acceptable as long as the stains and rips don’t look like you are wearing sleep clothing. Let’s not forget that children are often the culprits of ripped and stained clothing so expecting the nanny to replace that clothing every time it happens is a little unrealistic considering the salary. I think there can be a balance. Other than that I think this is really helpful advice!

    Hi! I love your videos! Quick question- I’m currently working as a holiday nanny (temporary 4 week position for a new family). There are two families in the house (the family I’m contracted with aged 5&3 and their cousins 6&8). My contract states that although the children I work for may play with their cousins, they are in no way my responsibility (unless on the rare occaision they ask me just to keep an eye on them if they need to quickly pop to the shop etc). On a couple of occaisions now, my family have asked me to babysit for them during the night time whilst they go out to eat/drink- when they’ve asked me to do this, they hadn’t mentioned that I would also be looking after the cousins and have assumed that I would just do so. On this occaision, they also wanted me to put them to bed at night-meaning I am responsible for 4 children. I have no problem with looking after them and I’m capable of doing so, however they haven’t offered to pay me extra for the added responsibility of two other children, nor had they asked me if it’s ok to do so. I know for a fact that they definitely should have asked me about the latter, but am I wrong in thinking I should be payed more for when I’m looking after more children? I’ve nannied for a couple of years now but never been in this situation. They’re a lovely family and I hate confrontation so not sure what to do! I’d really appreciate your advice. Keep up the good work!! X

    • @TheNannySolution
      @TheNannySolution  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, you should be paid for the extra children that you are responsible for. The next time they ask you to watch all 4 kids in the evening you can ask to speak to the parents prior to them leaving and discuss the extra compensation. Given that position is only 4 weeks you may not have it even come up again.

    • @cararoberts5413
      @cararoberts5413 3 роки тому

      @@TheNannySolution thank you! Do you also believe I should charge extra for over time? For example, my shift today was 14:00-21:00 (which was already changed from our contracted 10:00-17:00. At 20:30 they asked if I could stay until 23:00 which I agreed to. Should I charge more for these hours? Thanks!

    • @TheNannySolution
      @TheNannySolution  3 роки тому

      @@cararoberts5413 You should be paid for all the hours you work. I am not sure what the overtime laws are where you are working so I can not speak to that.

    What about tank tops? I’m thinking more the thicker strap ones that aren’t cropped but still do show more shoulder and may be traditionally seen as not professional or appropriate (and wouldn’t pass most public school dress codes)

    • @TheNannySolution
      @TheNannySolution  7 місяців тому

      It would depend on your nanny family and how formal or casual they are. In most hot climates I would think it is fine.
