Idk about sound or physics but the graphics look better on PC. Compare NFS 3 hot pursuit with this and NFS 4 is a downgrade in graphics, feels like they made first the PC version with shaders and other effects that they removed when porting it to ps1

Lol this one had a batter car handling than Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon combined. Not to mention cockpit views and actual car damage - something to actually punish you for bad driving and encourage you to drive better, unlike those scrubfests mentioned above.

This and Porsche are the two best NFS games ever made. I love the cockpit view. After Porsche the series went to crap. Forza is now the king of racing games but too bad is only made for Xbox and I hate consoles. But the Forza games themselves are fantastic, everything NFS could have been.
Yeah! But maybe a combination of the Underground series and High Stakes, where you can customize your car more thoroughly like you can in Underground 1 and 2, but where you can also have the damage feature like you do in High Stakes. They need to bring the damage feature back so the games are more realistic. There is nothing wrong with drawing from the past to make future games better. Underground 2 and High Stakes are definitely in my top 5 of favorite Need For Speed games of all time.
I'm having a nostalgic orgasm here, I used to always play this game with my brother on my 1998 Dell, the opponents would have the stupidest names, like Bogey or Gloom, the hardest stage was that Snowy Pass thing, You always crashed into the tunnel wall on Durham Road, you could hear cats meowing in the town at Landstrasse, and a bunch of other awesome things

Its sad that these games are all we have today. The new games sucks, yes great graphics, no instant replays or there stupid replays like in Forza Horizon. What happen to Road Rash? There was never any updated Road Rash after the PS1 died. I have always thought that "they" have been trying to destroy the racing games for many years and its working. No one can produce anything without permission from EA and the likes. Why did Sega Rally 2006 come out on the PS2 everywhere but in America?? Why has WRC FIA 1, 2 and 3 World Rally Championship was never released on the American xbox360 system? and on and on the list goes. We are still here, still waiting.........

And I still play it sometimes, casue the atmosphere is pure magic. =) And oh: The graphics are still amazing, I mean look at the lights by night and this higly detailed cockpit and destruction model. Oh I remember the day, I get the game. It was my birthday and my grandma buyed it for me. Uhm ... She´d already dead now. Love this game!

@4damage Yes my favourite too new nfs games hans't got weather with slippery roads night races with nice lights. I like in the hot pursuit mode the helicopter follows me with a great spotlight :) After i break all the lamps its wery useful :)

The more I look back at the 90's the more I realize that PC was the best system back then.
This game has more realistic graphics in my memories. :) It' is legend of the NFS series. This video reminded my deep memories.
