The harmony is not my brach, but there sure is some mad scientist thinking behind all this dancing madness.

Your pieces are so complex and layered. It takes several listens to just appreciate how much work you put into them. The love the playful atmosphere of the allegro! All I can say is bravo. You have found your own unique style.

I do see the motif from the Caprice in that contrapuntal variation. The caprice is genius (I've listened to that 4 times). I've listened to the fugal variation 6 times. It does get better with listening; it really is quite tonally adventurous and for the most part it works for me (but for a few nowhere moments that still sit awkwardly). Your work is really brilliant. You are one of only a few composers I've come across on UA-cam who work so brilliantly with fast developmental music. Always a joy to hear your work!

Ist movement reminds me of Poulenc's neo-classical chamber music. Kofi, this is just such a delight. You have a tremendous ear for harmony and interesting progressions...the flow of your musical transitions is of a very high quality. Great control of your dissonances too. I like the clever variations that continue with your sound world from the 1st movement. Many clever and catchy rhythms that have such great flow and bounce. the last variation was perhaps the only one that didn't work for me.
The horizontal harmonies of the counterpoint didn't really come together for me. the caprice returns to your characteristic sound--fast, deft harmonic progression, with exciting rhythms and nicely paced development with contrasting elements built in along the way.
I find this a really unusual choice with two piano's. Most of the time it works in very interesting ways. There are times when the uniformity of texture can be a bit much...especially when the music is as busy as this is. A quiet calmer section of more sparse texture...might aleviate this...but this is just wonderful overall. Your work never fails to deliver an exciting ride.

      Thanks for the massive comment!:)
I understand that the last variation might seem weird, but if you listen closely then you’ll here it introduces the motives to the next piece which is the Caprice! My main intention was to make the contrast as great as possible:)
Thanks yet again for your insightful ideas! And the Polounc spirit is very correct;)

I will listen again to that variation. Even though it may introduce the motif from the caprice it seems to be a world apart; very abstract and remote. You succeeded in creating the contrast, so great in fact it stands apart from the rest of the work.@@kofiLjunggren

@@johnpcomposerYes please do:) 11:42 Is roughly where some motives begin to appear from the caprice!
