+MickMaan Me: Just randomly looting a chest in a random ruins. Nothing special. Meridia: *A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON!* Me: BY ULFRIC'S SHIT! WHAT THE FUCK!?
Normally I wouldn't try to justify the destruction of a city, but Abargalas kind of had it coming. Meridia didn't interfere with this city until they attempted to destroy and sacrifice an entire city of her followers to Molag Bal. Its complete destruction might seem harsh, but it would have been a constant threat to the entire region if it remained.
Truth! And she made it clear on a few occasions that she loves Mundus and those who live in it. In her own words: "Look at my temple, lying in ruins. So much for the constancy of mortals, their crafts and their hearts. If they love me not, how can my love reach them?" She is the Lady of Infinite Energies and is associated with the energies of _all living things_. Therefore, she must have a profound love for mortals; but even more so for her followers. And the opposite of that is just as true: She loathes all undead. That, we already know. But she must also loathe wanton violence and bloodshed. And the way she described Dawnbreaker, it is designed to "burn away _corruption_ and false life." As far as I'm concerned, she did the right thing with Abagarlas. It was a city filled with evil and violence.
Cielo Pachirisu True, but Azura doesn't act like an infernal bitch when asking you to do something, like Meridia does. I'm sure the Dwarves deserved their punishment.
Brother Eriksson To be fair, by that point the Ayleid were kind of the victims of a genocide and really needed some help. If I came into the conflict, slaving included, it would be a bit of a pity spot. Meridia does state that she loves living things though, and she takes strides to show it.
I always like to think that Meridia was Arkay's best pal and she got kicked out of being an aedra or something for being too radical. It makes sense at least.
Question of the Week: Meridia is one of the few Daedra considered to be morally "good", in the mortal sense of the word. We normally considered these two Princes "bad" but its hard to argued that things they gave the Dark Elves weren't great and beneficial during the time. Malacath, though very brash, genuinely cares for the wellbeing and strength of his followers. If you ask me, I'd say Azura has probably done the most good things for mortals on Nirn. Even though she can be an absolute bitch if you choose to not give her attention 24/7, she is a very benevolent Daedric Prince. Along with Boethiah and Mephala, she too help guided the Chimer and lead them through the work of her beloved champion, Nerevar. She is one of the few Princes to show genuine care for her follower's safety. She helped created the Khajiit race and they lived a very prosperous time before Pelinal and the Empire showed up. Despite punishing the Chimer for The Tribunal's action, she still went out of her way to guide her Dunmer followers away from the destruction caused by Red Mountain, preserving a good majority of the Dunmer race. She pretty much did more positive things for mortals than most Princes in my opinion, despite her episodes of bitchy tantrums when one doesn't worship her. I was going to say Meridia, but her actions arent on the grand scale imo.
Hands down Azura. She above others directly intercede to save the realms and build up champions by visiting dreams upon many and visions of the future that gave hints as to the true nature of things. That makes her truly the most good of all the Daedric Princes.
Whitestrake sounds like quite the figure of badassery. He defeated an army of soldiers on his own and then defeated their immortal leader despite the fact he was assisted by the power of a God. He only fell from life when he was struck from far away by Ayleid magic after his ordeal. A truly legendary warrior.
He is on par with Tiber Septim. In his time he would establish kingdoms and then abandon them for his love of the battlefield. He was so insane and ruthless on the battlefield. One of his men asked what its like when he loses his mind. Pelinal responded, "Like the dream his no need for the dreamer." I am paraphrasing mind you. Some say he delved in sorcery like his hated Elven enemies. However, Pelinal is also bigoted, genocidal monster. His hate for the Elves was so great he confused Khajiits for Elves (because he is insane) and slaughtered them without mercy. He mass murdered a lot of Khajiits until he realized his mistake.... "Words without action are a dead witness." - Pelinal Whitestrake.
Azraelseraphim Really? Where did you learn this? I know it says he destroyed many Ayleid settlements, but Khajiits as well? Being genocidal is not honorable (even against Deadra worshipping Ayleids who constantly and sadistically tortured Pelinal's kin), but he was insane I guess; he must have lost many of whom he cared for to viscous Ayleid sorcerer-kings in combat. Here he is portrayed as quite a disciplined warrior (when with his comrades) and one whose battlefield prowess and legend is on par with that of Talos, but not his motives apparently. I wonder why he chose to face the Ayleids' champion alone.... was he ambushed or was Umaril deceptive in his challenge to Whitestrake?
Nicholas Fincannon Are you kidding? Whitestrake defeated an army of divine soldiers and then *killed* an immortal God-empowered half elf/divine. And he was just one man! You know who else was a man? Red Eagle. Even though he was a great warrior himself, he was eventually defeated by the Allessian Empire and then the Dragonborn. Don't get me wrong... nothing in war is ever certain, but I personally doubt Red Eagle would have much of a chance if any against Whitestrake (the divine crusader) alone. But the fight would be extremely interesting. That's for sure.
Delta40 Whitestrake killed 400 Elven solders and 1 Elf king single handedly before death. Red Eagle killed 1,000 imperil solders single handedly before he kicked the bucket. How many imperil solders do you think Umaril is worth?
So I originally didn't recognize meridia as a daedric prince. In my lack of knowledge of the lore and using as a crutch my knowledge of similar lores, I assumed all daedra were like demons or evil creatures. Meridia to me seemed like a holy figure or an arch angel with the holy light angle, hatred of undead and her quest making me kill a necromancer. Intresting that these daedras range so widely from life empowered Miridia to things like Molag Bal, causing pain simply because he enjoys causing pain
Jacob Willis You seem to be confusing the Shivering Isles for the Summerset Isles. Although it'd be great if Sheogorath invaded Summerset, the two places have no particular connection beyond both being groups of islands.
Considering Meridia´s unquenchable hatred for all undead I wonder why her cult apparently has no active role amongst the ranks of the Dawnguard. Perhaps it´s because their leader Isran at some point used to be a Vigilant of Stendarr who seem to hate the Daedra for hate´s sake and not for the Daedra´s motivation, be it "good" or "evil". Meridia is one of my favorite Daedra princes, nevertheless.
+Perebynis Are wereewolves considere undead? They are cursed by Hiricine after all and eventually their souls will be brought to Hircine´s hunting grounds. This means their souls are doomed in a sense and they can never truly rest. Meridia is associated with the energy of living things, this surely includes souls.
***** They were her followers. You can´t blame a goddess for helping the priests. Besides, I´m pretty sure the imperials despised the daedra by that point so in her eyes they hated her as much as she hated undead. Also, she actually helped save the world during the events of Elder Scrolls Online. In fact, without her help the heroes wouldn´t be able to defeat Molag Baal.
***** Meridia is a goddess of life. Maybe she thought that an empire ruled by humans would create too much death. And after the humans got their freedom many wars took place, especially between humans and elves. Just because Meridia is usually the polar aspect of Molag Bal doesn´t mean they always need to be enemies. You don´t hear stories of Nocturnal and Azura fighting each other nor Molag Bal (enslavement) and Dagon (revolution and ambition). Violent rebellions usually end in many deaths and even if the rebels are victorious we know of some cases where they end up worse than their previous masters and even kill more than them.Maybe Meridia wanted to avoid that. Of course, I do side with the humans in this case. I´m not a fan of the Thalmor
***** Nocturnal´s sphere is night and darkness and she is also the matron of thieves because they use darkness and luck to steal. Azura´s sphere is dusk and dawn, the exact opposite. Dagon´s sphere is revolution, change and ambition. And while this can be used to make a tyrant it can also be used by slaves. I mean, the slaves have ambitions, energy and the desire for freedom and personnal gain. The dremora follow Dagon, but not always so. They have their own ambitions and won´t let unworthy rulers give them orders which means they don´t like being slaves.
TES 6 needs to have questlines for each Daedra and not just a single quest. And maybe i want to hunt down and destroy them, or maybe i'm just cult follower. Give me choices, give me depth, or give me DEATH
I right away loved Meridia and I wish there was more quests to do with her or I wish she had more commentary like after defeating a bunch of the dead she says I serve her well ect. Ect. Because if this was IRL I totes would worship her sassy ass!
Socialist Skeptic I agree its not great. That quest in particular could have been executed better. Hell there are more quests that could have been executed better.
Yah but if you're role playing a knight of the divines, and you get roped into a quest for Molag Bal, that's bull shit. Bethesda really needs to learn a thing or two about giving players choices.
Maybe the reason Meridia was banished from the sky is because she was tricked into creating new life forms or initially decided to do so on her own. She was banished but understood that one should not play with life energies and create new beings just for fun or personnal interest. This may be the reason she hates undead and everything that taints souls.
I seriously gotta apologize, when the voice actor for the Elder Scroll lore debuted I said something akin too "Hope you didn't pay him too much." but now, over the course of the past few weeks I've grown to love the voice and can't imagine any other sharing lore with me. Cheers, and my bad.
Oh how i love his voice! It's like an elder in the Temple of Eight Divines is telling us how the world is! So lovely! Also glad that they have "Lady Nerevar" for fact-checking. She's an awesome lore-buff.
It completely amazes me the amount of detail that is put in this game series lore, every person has a story, every cave has legend associated with it, I mean, it's astonishing how big and marvelous the lore of The Elder Scrolls is, it could easily have a tv series like GoT just by the amount of lore that it has, a huge thumbs up to the writers, and of course, another excellent video from ShoddyCast.
Wow, I was just now watching some of the older videos where you narrated things yourself, they were good! But this, this narration is just so professional it gives me a feeling like I'm being productive by watching a documentary (I really should be studying lol)
PHGDAL I just started listening to these in the background while I'm working, and when the new narrator came in, I thought I was listening to an in-game narration. It fits Elder Scrolls so much and sounds so professional. Though I liked the old one as well.
disrespect shown by whitestrake? The elves disrespect him first by not fighting fairly, then they get pissed when whitestrake proves humans are better than elves even in a lopsided fight.
Um. Ulmaril was kind of trying to genocide off all of the Alyeids. That isn't exactly a noble cause. Also, who the hell cares about a "fair fight" when the person you're fighting against wants to go on to kill your family friends, and everyone who happens to share a skin tone with you after they kill you? Fuck that guy.
Silver Fang I agree personally, fuck that genocidal maniac Umaril, but the thing is, the Elves claim they are 100% honorable here when they did many dishonorable things during the battle with Umaril and leading up to it. It's been a while since I saw the video and Im not real fresh on the lore of this issue, but I think the elves werent any better than Umaril, they just survived the battle and painted the whole thing as some holy war against the human/demon Umaril
Every comment section of this lore series has someone saying that "this guy has a forced accent". And someone replying in rage insulting the previous narrator for some unknown reason?? I personally enjoyed both and find the new win slightly more immersive and enjoyable.
Not at all! I love Meridia, and wish they would have reworked her Daedric quest into the overall _Dawnguard_ questline. It is just too perfect of a fit! Getting Auriel's Bow is okay and all, but dude. . . _Dawnbreaker!_ You're fighting against vampires and Meridia loathes the undead! And that, because she "contains the plenum" and is the Lady of Infinite Energies, the source of the energy of _all living things_. Bethesda really missed some epicness there, big time.
Very well done as always, but I wish there was at least some mention of her major role is halting the Planemeld and fighting Molag Bal through the Hallow City.
Maciek Pieniążek It's based on how much points you invested in either light or heavy armors. You're given the armor depending on which armor skill is the highest
After the Daedric Princes you should do the lore of the dragons and more specifically the dragon priest, maybe like you did with the Princes and do an episode per priest.
Well, the Ayleid slavemasters did horrible things to humans before they rebelled, so I don't really sympathize with them much. I do feel bad for the innocent Ayleids that did lose their lives at the hands of Pelinal though, that dude was a genocidal, however awesome, maniac.
Why? He sent waves of his own people to "weaken" the champion, there is no honor in that. He had no honor.. and deserved his fate. If he had lost an honorable duel of one on one then he would have been deserving of pity. But to send to their deaths the very people he was meant to protect, nu'uh.
That's why I love Elder Scrolls lore so much. There's a level of moral ambiguity that makes the world seem more alive and relatable rather than just the righteous goody-goodies versus the big baddies.
I always wonder what the 'good' Daedra (Meridia, Azura, Trinimac) motives were for not contributing to the creation of Nirn. (I suppose Meridia wasn't a Daedra at that time, after watching the video)
My guess is that they consideered that contributing for the creation of Nirn, could be counter-productive to their values, since what they could create wouldnt be under their control and be free to choose, by that line of thinking what if they would contribute to create something that could turn around and choose other values different from those they follow? And that happens a lot, if you go and do a daedric quest for Azura and Meridia. And thats why most daedric princes use Nirn as personal entertaintment, it´s funnier to mess with Nirn mortals.
Assigning gender to the Daedra is pointless. They don't really have any. Their appearance is what they choose to present themselves like. Also the appearances you see in the games aren't really the Daedra Princess themselves, the real Princess are the whole Oblivion realms.
Because "prince" denotes a greater sense of power than "lesser" Daedra, like the Dremora, Golden Saints, Winged Twilights, etc. I prefer using "greater Daedra" to refer to the "Princes".
Geistlake i prefer to think of it as, they don't have a,set, gender,or form. though whichever they choose to appear as most,is closest to what we could call being this or that. that's just my views though.
domidium Demons can act like angles to get what they want for example kindness is the ultimate disguise. Shape shifting can refer to more than Physical shape it can be intentions to.
Nicholas Fincannon...you realize we're talking about the Daedra, not demons, right? The Daedra are not inherently evil, they do what they do simply because its what they want to do. The only thing that separates them from the Aedra is the fact that they didn't participate in the creation of the Mundus. This doesn't automatically make them evil. The word Daedra literally translates to "not our ancestors" in the Aldmeri language. I know there are very few morally "good" Daedra, but the evidence is still there.
I think I will be the last episode as jyggalag or what his name is was basically feared by the other Daedra so he was turned in to are favourite cheese loving Daedra
I love the Dawnbreaker. I am an Imperial who joined the Dawnguard with the load out of Heavy Dawnguard Armor and Full Plate Helmer with the crossbow and Dawnbreaker.
Finally. My lord and lady. From whom my true power comes from. All foes fear my infinite wrath for the Templar is Meridia's thumb. All hail my mistress.
Jeffery Krueger No, they didn't. They told the story of Pelinal Whitestrake fighing Umaril the Unfeathered. There was no mention of the Knights of the Nine. ¬_¬
The Nerevar Jesus Christ... Pelinal wasn't a member of the Knights of the Nine. The order was established after Pelinal's death, as they were all inspired by his acts. In life, he wasn't a 'Knight of the Nine', because as I just said, the order wasn't established until after his death.
It's opened my eyes really, Merida is technically a good daedra and the Aurorans are her daedra. So when you attack Umaril and kill the Aurorans in Oblivion for the Knights of the Nine, aren't you killing good daedra? Or is there an explanation I haven't seen?
Honestly, the only daedric prince who you can't say is "good" in some way is maybe molag baal. Meridia does somefucked up things, but the good in her outweighs the bad for the most part. Molag Baal, on the other hand, is the King of Rape. Let that sink in.
Mr Red Merhunes Dagon is just the Prince of Destruction, so he’s a contender for worst Daedra for sure, and Peiryite just likes to make people sick, while Namira is just cannibals -insects-and-decay lady.
Triatomic Ai Death to Whitestrike! Death to Lorkhan! Death to Ysgramor and Talos himself, the demon of elves! Man will fall and Mer will reign, in the name of Auriel and Trinimac!
My favorite Deadric Prince! I would go to her shrine in skyrim and just sit there and pretend i'm talking to her for like a whole 10 minutes. and that is even after i've done her quest. that's how much i like meridia. And it doesn't hurt that she is very pretty too. If I was the Dragonborne, I would flirt with her. She'd probably kill me for it though. LOL!!!
Konahrik Kirhanok I love jiggy. Although i am still confused at to whether or not he is still a deadric prince. I know you seperated sheo and jiggy in oblivion. But We havnt heard a single thing about jiggy since.
Azura was more benevolent out of all the other Daedric Princes with Meridia being close second. Although I'm sure they don't see 'good' as being the same as we interpret it. Thank you for this awesome series, guys, even though I've read pretty much all the lore books, I still find myself learning new things every time I come here.
All Of You Just Got Trolled Free thumbs up on your comment for being hilarious. I bet you laugh your ass off when people rage at you without paying attention to your username.
Meridia should actually be considered a Aedra because she was created by Anui-el not Sithis so she is just called a daedra because she was banished from Aetherius for reasons unknown.
WubDub88 Waow it took you five minutes to reply something tells me you spend alot of time in youtube. And yes he probrably is going to leave since not alot of people like him
The information in this video is great, the voice however is very off-putting and whoever did season 1 sounded better. This just sounds like someone is trying to do the best forced accent they can.
This is his real accent. It isn't faked or forced at all, it's just how his voice sounds. If you don't like it, fine, but this voice is his real voice.
Fun fact for all of you that read this: The term "Magnus" is also used i Theistic Satanism, it is a high ranked "priest" in their group. Like if you learned something new by my comment!

Azura
Sheogorath, not a doubt in my mind.
None of them. They all fuck someone up in their little games of men and mer.
Sanguine. Drunken debauchery never felt so good as with Sam Guevenne!

To me it seems Azura is good only to her true followers
If you think about it she is kind of a bitch in the Morrowind plot.
azura is only "good" to those who serve her
If you did the azura's star quest you would know she was willing to sacrifice the lives of many innocents to get revenge on one man.

I mean, the slaves have ambitions, energy and the desire for freedom and personnal gain. The dremora follow Dagon, but not always so. They have their own ambitions and won´t let unworthy rulers give them orders which means they don´t like being slaves.
"In the Time Before Time"
...what is this? Bionicle? XD
pffft lol
pffft lol
"walk always into the light, or i will drag you to it" my character favorite quote
TES 6 needs to have questlines for each Daedra and not just a single quest.
And maybe i want to hunt down and destroy them, or maybe i'm just cult follower.
Give me choices, give me depth, or give me DEATH
***** all daedra vs Aedra
Mr MMR Do Aedra even have power?
From my understanding they were practically drained of all life force to create nirn and mundus
True. You've got me there pal
***** yea your right, Talos would single handedly take em all down. Let's make it sithis vs daedra and aedra
Keith Streetman but u cant kill a daedra prince
I right away loved Meridia and I wish there was more quests to do with her or I wish she had more commentary like after defeating a bunch of the dead she says I serve her well ect. Ect. Because if this was IRL I totes would worship her sassy ass!
The dawn breaker quest is my favorite skyrim quest meridia just makes the whole thing awesome :D
I helped a priest and all I got was forced to do the bidding of Molag Bal.
Bethesda needs to learn a thing or two about player agency.
Azraelseraphim
Oh yeah that's player agency for you. Bethesda sucks at giving players choices in which quests to take or how to resolve them.
Socialist Skeptic I agree its not great. That quest in particular could have been executed better. Hell there are more quests that could have been executed better.
But the mace of Molag Bal is so awesome...that and Dawn breaker are my 2 favorite Daedric artifacts.
Yah but if you're role playing a knight of the divines, and you get roped into a quest for Molag Bal, that's bull shit. Bethesda really needs to learn a thing or two about giving players choices.
*****
Here's hoping that by Fallout 4 they figure out how to do dialogue trees and re-learn player agency through actions.
Maybe the reason Meridia was banished from the sky is because she was tricked into creating new life forms or initially decided to do so on her own. She was banished but understood that one should not play with life energies and create new beings just for fun or personnal interest. This may be the reason she hates undead and everything that taints souls.
Meridia is one of my favorites.
As always ShoddyCast, I am enthralled in these videos. Thank you.
This dudes voice is like cocaine. Addictive and I can't get enough
I seriously gotta apologize, when the voice actor for the Elder Scroll lore debuted I said something akin too "Hope you didn't pay him too much." but now, over the course of the past few weeks I've grown to love the voice and can't imagine any other sharing lore with me. Cheers, and my bad.
I like meridia, she's my favortie daedric prince. She reminds me of mata nui. I mean it started "in the time before time" just like bionicle.
I respect you for your commitment.
Oh how i love his voice!
It's like an elder in the Temple of Eight Divines is telling us how the world is!
So lovely!
Also glad that they have "Lady Nerevar" for fact-checking. She's an awesome lore-buff.
First thing that came to Ming when he said "in a time... BEFORE time..." Was the bionicle movie intros. Anyone else?
I love this voice so much. So calming and peaceful.
Was literally just playing oblivion, with full crusader armour dawned, before watching this :D
So the sun is literally a gateway to another universe where all the gods are?
disrespect shown by whitestrake? The elves disrespect him first by not fighting fairly, then they get pissed when whitestrake proves humans are better than elves even in a lopsided fight.
+Caleb "Foul Umaril and his kind has displaced me! Disgraced me! The slavers shall not keep down the might of PELINAL WHITESTRAKE!"
+Mighty Roogna Whitestrake the time traveling android/ cyborg
+Silver Fang hahahaha what bullshit. so yes poor unaril defended ayloed people and so on... do skyrim kids beleave in shit like this?
These just keep getting better and better
Meridia, Azura, Cheesegorath and Malacath are my favorite picks when playing a good character, although Azura can be a bitch if you disappoint her lol
As always a lovely relaxing vid to sit down for and enjoy some of the lore of this series. Keep them going.
So whitestrake and ysgramor would really get along huh?
RIP AND TEAR!!!!!
MrNahual2099 i can confirm this!
elven filth
Absolutely amazing narrorating. You can just tell how much work was put into these videos. Great job!
Every comment section of this lore series has someone saying that "this guy has a forced accent". And someone replying in rage insulting the previous narrator for some unknown reason?? I personally enjoyed both and find the new win slightly more immersive and enjoyable.
This has to be one of the best, if not the best, lore video I have ever watched.
Next Friday Best Friday of my life.
ive waited for a pelinal whitesnake story and wow you guys got it, epic work my friends!
2:44-3:08 wow, Meridia is very Beautiful in this form(call me a Simp here but it's true)
Meridia
Cast your light upon us
For the night is dark and full of terrors
is it bad that meridia is the reason i always side with the dawnguard in skyrim and alwaya play a templar in ESO?
no. Same for me
+Aleksa Petrovic Auriel for the win
Me too
I'm so addicted to these series, I just can't stop watching these xD
Praise the sun!
Very well done as always, but I wish there was at least some mention of her major role is halting the Planemeld and fighting Molag Bal through the Hallow City.
It is official, but yes they might add more, you are right about that.
So who haven't they covered yet?
Namira (Obviously)
Sheogorath
Vaermina
Sanguine
Mehrunes Dagon
Edit:
Peryite
Claaavicus Viiile
***** Oh, right. The one with the ugliest mask in Skyrim.
And slowest weapon :P
you are uhh... forgetting one... Jyggalag
There's darude the deadric prince of sandstorms
She is my favorite deity from Elder Scrolls serie. Nice video!
Correction: Whitestrake was badass
Matthew Hicks indeed i was!
Matthew Hicks and he died like a little bitch, pathetic humans thinking they can keep their superiors at bay for long
+Pelinal Whitestrake Could you explain me how you made your armor being both light and heavy armor?
Maciek Pieniążek It's based on how much points you invested in either light or heavy armors. You're given the armor depending on which armor skill is the highest
+Matthew Hicks Yes, but how did you made it this way? Are secretly you a master smith, n'wah?
After the Daedric Princes you should do the lore of the dragons and more specifically the dragon priest, maybe like you did with the Princes and do an episode per priest.
HE did dragons already.
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
Best narrative voice for elder scrolls, official or unofficial, EVER!
Wow, now I feel bad for doing the Knights of the Nine DLC.
Geraduss I know right! Even then he STILL lost. How pathetic.
Alright, maybe I don't feel "bad", but it did give me new perspective.
That's why I love Elder Scrolls lore so much. There's a level of moral ambiguity that makes the world seem more alive and relatable rather than just the righteous goody-goodies versus the big baddies.
My favorite one so far. Excellent work guys.
I always wonder what the 'good' Daedra (Meridia, Azura, Trinimac) motives were for not contributing to the creation of Nirn.
(I suppose Meridia wasn't a Daedra at that time, after watching the video)
Trinimac wasn't Daedra.
True, he was an Et'ada. Nevermind.
Trinimac was a altmer god, who became a daedric prince
When it came to after doing "The Break of Dawn" quest in my first playthrough of Skyrim, Dawnbreaker became the main weapon my Nord Dragonborn used.
They want me to use auriel bow to kill Harkon , but I give him that weak ass bow and use dawnbreaker to 3 shots the guy , so funny
I love how it says you have to go back to the beginning and the page turns forward
One thing I've never understood is why the female Deadra are referred to as "Deadric Prince" and not "Deadric Princess". It doesn't really make sense.
***** Then why are they referred to as "He" or "She"?
The word "prince" can be genderless when referring to leader in general instead of a male heir of a kingdom.
Geistlake i prefer to think of it as, they don't have a,set, gender,or form. though whichever they choose to appear as most,is closest to what we could call being this or that. that's just my views though.
I've been writing a bit of fanfiction for fun and this information is both useful for inspiration and just fascinating. Thank you so much.
Mjsmecha no
The daedric prince madea
No I'm afraid Tyler Perry won't be in these videos.
And her realm of Oblivion, the House of Payne.
Is there also a "boomerang shoe" Daedric artifact?
Praise be Meridia, m'lady of infinite energies!
Meridia seems more like an angel than a demonic creature.
She used to belong to the Magne-Ge Pantheon, so yeah.
Demonic creatures can shape shift.
Nicholas Fincannon I was talking about her behavior, not the form she takes.
domidium Demons can act like angles to get what they want for example kindness is the ultimate disguise.
I hope he does lore on Sheogorath and/or Jyggalag, they would be interesting to learn about!
I think I will be the last episode as jyggalag or what his name is was basically feared by the other Daedra so he was turned in to are favourite cheese loving Daedra
Meridia doesn't seem to hate all undead tho... I played as a Vampire Lord necromancer when I cleaned up her shrine and wasn't bothered at all by me.
+Letho Stormcrow Gameplay mechanics
She was scrpted to not care.
Of all the Daedra she certainly has the most godlike presence to her.
I agree
WHY DID THEY STOP MAKING THESE?!?!?
Ran out of stuff
MrOlterman they could make an episode abour me...
Narrator: in the time before time...
Me: why do I hear Bionicle music?
All of my likes.
MERIDIA!
Ah yes...
Daedric Prince Mommy Dommy of *BEACONS.*
Please tell me that generic angel model is just a stand-in and isn't actually what she looks like in ESO.
She looks like a breton woman, bright as the sun.
***** ESO is so bland it doesn't do her form, beauty, and splendor justice.
Azraelseraphim I think there's something to be said about why she appeared as she did in ESO.
Screw Meridia. Namira FTW!
Never!! The light shall always be victorious. Rise up my Templar brethren!! We march at Dawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Nightreavers shall never let your army march, for we are already picking off you worms one by one and every corpse feeds our power!
Nor Light or Dark, only madness!!
Beware the madmen!!
Should the forces of Light and Dark put aside their differences to combat the chaos?
I SO miss this series..
This should be called Elder Scrolls Lore: Deadric Prince Meridia and The Knights of the Nine. Just a suggesion.
Bad suggestion. They didn't tell the story of the Knights of the Nine, they gave an example of one of the most prominent Champions of Meridia.
I guess but it still provided some lore about the Knights of the nine.
Jeffery Krueger
No, they didn't. They told the story of Pelinal Whitestrake fighing Umaril the Unfeathered. There was no mention of the Knights of the Nine. ¬_¬
They should do that in a seperate video to tell the whole story
The Nerevar
Jesus Christ... Pelinal wasn't a member of the Knights of the Nine. The order was established after Pelinal's death, as they were all inspired by his acts. In life, he wasn't a 'Knight of the Nine', because as I just said, the order wasn't established until after his death.
Why does this feel like yesterday that these were getting posted. Please bring it back
It's opened my eyes really, Merida is technically a good daedra and the Aurorans are her daedra. So when you attack Umaril and kill the Aurorans in Oblivion for the Knights of the Nine, aren't you killing good daedra? Or is there an explanation I haven't seen?
"Good"
Honestly, the only daedric prince who you can't say is "good" in some way is maybe molag baal. Meridia does somefucked up things, but the good in her outweighs the bad for the most part.
Molag Baal, on the other hand, is the King of Rape. Let that sink in.
well you could argue that Bohethia is evil and has no good
Mr Red Merhunes Dagon is just the Prince of Destruction, so he’s a contender for worst Daedra for sure, and Peiryite just likes to make people sick, while Namira is just cannibals -insects-and-decay lady.
Like the Oblivion and Skyrim scene mixing.
Long live the Divine Crusaders, Glory to Pelinal Whitestrake!
Lol seems as though pelinal and ysgramor would be best friends. Long live Ysgramor! Glory to the Nords!
Triatomic Ai Death to Whitestrike! Death to Lorkhan! Death to Ysgramor and Talos himself, the demon of elves! Man will fall and Mer will reign, in the name of Auriel and Trinimac!
Triatomic Ai FUCK PELINAL , I WANTED TO PLAY AS AN AYLEID , AND HE KILLED THEM , FUCK . I DO NOT WHY ALTMERS DID NOT HELP AYLEIDS SURVIVE
So many n'wahs...
Hey Thanks! THE NINE PROTECT YOU!
Great video guys! i didnt know an awful lot about meridia or her colored rooms before this
My favorite Deadric Prince! LOL!!!
I just came here to listen to Meridia's voice but this was equally interesting
Still no sheogorath 😥
this saddens me :/
Konahrik Kirhanok I love jiggy. Although i am still confused at to whether or not he is still a deadric prince. I know you seperated sheo and jiggy in oblivion. But We havnt heard a single thing about jiggy since.
Konahrik Kirhanok
Yeah i saw that too, a little easter egg :)
Best for last? c:
when he said "in the time before time", did no one else hear his voice exactly as turaga vakama?
I did
So Meridia is anti-man and pro-mer... perhaps not surprising for a Magna-Ge.
*suddenly wants a quest to blow up that statue*
Quest to corrupt her artifacts or fill her shrine with more undead.
I know im late, but...
...You know that they were her workshipers, right?
Maciek Pieniążek Yes
Azura was more benevolent out of all the other Daedric Princes with Meridia being close second. Although I'm sure they don't see 'good' as being the same as we interpret it. Thank you for this awesome series, guys, even though I've read pretty much all the lore books, I still find myself learning new things every time I come here.
lol, whatever you say.
Its true, to a Daedric prince things like morality and gender are flawed mortal concepts.
I know they don't, I was laughing at him calling me a tool, because, you know, trolls be trollin'.
Lol, people actually care about lore?
Was gonna hate on you then I read your name. Well played sir
All Of You Just Got Trolled Free thumbs up on your comment for being hilarious. I bet you laugh your ass off when people rage at you without paying attention to your username.
weaponmaster999
Exactly.
Meridia should actually be considered a Aedra because she was created by Anui-el not Sithis so she is just called a daedra because she was banished from Aetherius for reasons unknown.
Please i want Kyle from the shoddycast to to the voicing not this guy his voice just distracts :)
Or josh i really dont remember who did it in season 1
Freddie Gonzalez fuck off
WubDub88 Buthurt much ??
Freddie Gonzalez why should I be? He's not going anywhere.
WubDub88 Waow it took you five minutes to reply something tells me you spend alot of time in youtube. And yes he probrably is going to leave since not alot of people like him
I just cannot wait for the next Fallout Lore!
The information in this video is great, the voice however is very off-putting and
whoever did season 1 sounded better. This just sounds like someone is trying to do the best forced accent they can.
I agree. I liked Josh's narration better.
Josh's narration was better in season one than José's narration. Josh's voice was more soothing.
This is his real accent. It isn't faked or forced at all, it's just how his voice sounds.
If you don't like it, fine, but this voice is his real voice.
You kind of sound like an idiot.
Yeah, this guy's voice is terrific. Very scholarly sounding like a well read gent, or a story-teller.
I love you guys. You do such a great job! I've watched most videos multiple times and cannot wait to see what is to come! keep up the great work!
A new hand touches the bacon...I mean beacon. A new hand touches the beacon.
I love the narrator for these videos.
Can't wait for the Namira episode!!
It will be 93 days before we are done with daedric princes. What will be covered next I wonder?
I never thought that Meridia was this beautiful and pretty ( ._.) Awesome work as always!! I adore you guys! Keep up the awesome work!
Fun fact for all of you that read this:
The term "Magnus" is also used i Theistic Satanism, it is a high ranked "priest" in their group. Like if you learned something new by my comment!
