    You, my dude, are a life saver! Tufting is far out of my norm, and I have looked up numerous ways on how to keep tension off the yarn. All have said to rewind it yourself by hand, which had no luck. Never even thought about starting from the middle of the yarn like you mentioned! I'll be trying that out now. I'm sure I could leave the yarn roll on the ground then?

    @MiauxCatterie 3 роки тому +6

    is there any reason why you couldn't just put the backing on at the same time as the initial gluing? does it not cure right when you try it that way?

    • @FlavorWorld
      @FlavorWorld  3 роки тому +6

      yoo!!! yes you can do that!!!!
      HOWEVER i still like to do two coats. the first coat of glue requires a lot more glue, and sometimes when you press on a backing super hard the glue will seep through the backing and that doesn't look so great. (thats mainly just an aesthetic detail though)
      ALSO! you gotta let the initial glue dry while the rug is still stretched on the frame so it can be kinda awkward to apply the backing like that.

      I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this!?? but the string where? I responded this to your comment on my other video:
      i use my thumb to pinch the yarn against the gun when i move it around! just be sure to move your thumb before you start again

    HELLO, MY FABRIC BREAKS A LOT; I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S BECAUSE THE SPEED IS TOO MUCH, OR BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE RELAY TIGHTENED ENOUGH.
    COULD YOU GUIDE ME?
    THANKS!

    • @FlavorWorld
      @FlavorWorld  3 роки тому

      Hi!!! for holes, usually one of these things is what is going wrong:
      1. you aren't pressing firmly enough with the gun against the fabric (you don't need to press SUPER hard just can't be too light with it)
      2. make sure you’ve got the gun at a 90-degree angle with the fabric and that you always point it in the direction it's traveling
      3. your yarn maybe isn't feeding properly (reduce the friction of it!)
      4. your fabric might not be stretched tight enough
      Hope this helps : )

    recently started tufting but even pulling the yarn from the middle i cant get it to feed properly, it just comes out of my gun driving me crazy..the gun just doesn't pull it hard enough looking into cones but already have so much yarn to use first...good tip on the burlap though ill be swapping to that

    • @FlavorWorld
      @FlavorWorld  Рік тому

      Just make sure its off the roll before you tuft. I use yarn balls too and I make a big pile of it on my floor before tufting. Its not your guns fault, its the yarns fault. Reduce the friction

      @@FlavorWorld ahh that's what I've been doing thanks. I've seen some people who leave it in the bundles and it works fine so thought it was a me issue...Well looks like I'm investing in cones having to pile it a lot is annoying

    • @FlavorWorld
      @FlavorWorld  3 роки тому

      really just depends which style of pile you like more, cut or loop! I have the cut pile (ak-1) and am very happy about it. I talk more about the differences in the Tufting 101: Equipment video : )
