instead of puppy pads i'd recommend towels or fleeces and a special animal bag to wash them instead and in the end its cheaper and better for the planet.

I. Have a thing you can use for the corners for your ferrets I recommend any short edged litter pan then pour your litter pan and the litter pan should be able to fit at least 2 ferrets or a whole ferret!🤗
I love what you do for your rats but I think to give them more enrichment you should give them something to burrow on ( not fleece ) btw great video ❤❤❤

I know I'm late but a more sustainable way for stopping them from peeing in the corners is put a small litter tray in about 2 of the corners they pee in the most and the rest you should use the puppy pads just to cut down on the waste, this works for me and now I dont have to use the puppy pads because they much prefer the litter trays :)

aw sorry to hear of your loss 😞 i currently use a bedding called littlemax! (and use recycled paper pellets in their litter box!) it’s a kiln dried and dust extracted wood shavings bedding that’s available in the uk, it was recommended by a breeder and a few other people i know with rats! it’s suitable for rats and other animals with super sensitive respiratory systems - i’ve found that it has virtually no dust and it’s super absorbent. also since it’s kiln dried it is 100% safe for rats! i was a bit hesitant about it at first but after reading about people swapping to this bedding i thought i’d give it a go and so far like it! i’ll be going into more detail soon with a video! x

Because you were asking here’s some more environmentally friendly substitutes u could make :) : swap the disposable pee pads for blizzard fleece pee pads! Pricy-er but will cost u less in the long run, instead of using paper towels to clean the rat shelf’s you could you a washing cloth! 💘💘💘

she has her greens at night and her pellets in the morning- i show this in my feeding all my pets video! ☺️ just to give her extra variety throughout the day x and yes of course she has constant access to hay🤣 x
I'd recommend starting with 3! You can always bond more in the future if you feel that you'd be able to handle more when you get a bit more experience, and with 3 at least if anything happens to one of them, the other wont be left on their own.
Hello. Just wanted to give you a few tips for your rats. 1. Please please please don’t give them yogurt drops. They have no nutritional value and in the end it’s just not worth it. Try unsweetened banana chips or you can make stove top popcorn without salt which they love. 2. The food you are giving them is for rats and mice which really isn’t ideal. The best thing you can give them is a homemade mix (look up handsome rats on ig) or try oxbow adult rat food. Good luck!
hi, thanks for the advice! i’m aware that yoghurt drops are not healthy for them - that’s why they’re called treats! i don’t give it to them very often at all, like i said in the video, and i do vary what treats i give them each time. it’s mostly fresh fruit (as also seen in the vid!) but they love them and i don’t think there’s anything wrong with an occasional treat, especially since rats don’t live very long and i can see that it makes them happy. also, the old formula for science selective rat and mouse pellets was the best processed rat food on the market as of 2019, which i learned from extensive research (i can link if necessary!☺️) they have however recently changed the recipe and the high wheat content means that it is no longer the best food for them, so since this video i have made them a homemade rat mix while i am researching what is best for them. i personally prefer lab blocks to mixes, as it prevents selective feeding and i wouldn’t want any of my rats to miss out on nutrients, so i’m currently looking for a better food, pellet form. i’m just going to go off what i think is right for me and my rats, as any responsible pet owner can do. thanks again and i hope you enjoyed the video! ☺️☺️ xxx
all your animals are the cutest! 💛 I saw you fed your rats the science selective pellets, I wouldn't really recommend this food as they changed their recipe (which used to be good) and now the wheat content is way too high which will lead to kidney issues in your rats. Just thought I would let you know in case you didn't know 🥰

Ferrets don’t rlly smell. If you ferret is neutered that helps a lot with the smell. Also it’s rlly not bad smell it’s nothing worse then what a dog or cat smells like

I was just wondering if you have any problems with owning ferrets and rodents at the same time? Since ferrets are predators to most rodents I was wondering if this has caused any problems? aw thank you! 🥰🥰 my ferrets don’t have access to the floor where I keep the rest of my pets on so i’ve not had any problems! as long as you keep them completely separate it should be fine, but remember if you do choose to get predatory animals while owning prey animals, then it is your responsibility to make sure they are all safe and that they have absolutely no access to each other. again, shouldn’t be a problem if you are able to keep them completely separate! make sure you also have the time to provide both your ferret and your bunny with their free roam time each day as i’m sure you know they both need a lot of time outside their cages! xxx
Maddie Leonczek ok! Thank you so much for your advice! And yes my rabbit has his own room and the ferret would most likely be in my room so there would be no interaction between the two. Plus I would definitely give them equal attention with lots of playtime out of there cages! Now I just have to convince my parents to let me get a ferret once I’ve done enough research that I need on them👍 thanks again!
no worries! another thing i would recommend would be to look at getting at least two ferrets - i started off with one and quickly learned that he would benefit a lot from having a friend, as they are extremely social animals! and they play with each other different than how they play with people so it’s really good for them to be able to do that! (and really fun to watch them playing🤪) it’s good for them to have a friend while they’re in their cage as well so they don’t get lonely when you’re not with them. if you do end up getting ferrets I’d suggest getting more than one at the same time as it can be very hard to introduce them xx

Is the thrive chicken good for ferrets? I have read that they are only allowed kitten food however this says cat food. I am probably wrong. You see, I am going to be getting a ferret soon and I am looking for the best ferret food.
Annie Dawson hi! kitten food is usually recommended over cat food because of its much higher protein content than cat food! however, thrive is 90% chicken and is 52% protein which is extremely good for both cat and kitten kibble - it’s actually the best kibble in the uk available for ferrets☺️ it doesn’t contain pea protein or wheat, which are common fillers in both cat and kitten kibble and can cause serious health issues in ferrets, such as kidney/bladder stones. saying that, id definitely suggest looking into raw diets as well! (i’m hoping to transition my ferrets soon) i’d also recommend joining ferret groups on facebook if you can - they often discuss diets/good kibbles available! good luck with your new ferret and happy researching! 🥰 im also planning on having a video up on ferret diets soon so stay tuned if you’re interested! ☺️xx

FerretBiz yeah, i have to since i have predator animals and prey animals!!! my ferrets have the furthest room downstairs and all my other pets are upstairs, the rest of them aren’t all in separate rooms though (i only have so much space😩🤣) - my ratties share a room with one of my hammies, the other hammies are in another room, and my rabbit has free roam upstairs. i’d keep all the hamsters in one room so the rats could have their own room too but their cages take up so much space 💀💀 i’ve arranged my rats room so that they can’t get near my hammys cage during free roam time and there’s a few doors separating the rest of my pets from my ferrets as well just to be extra safe x

just make sure you do loads of research, watch loads of videos and join a bunch of facebook groups on ferret care if you can! good luck ✨

Ferrets don’t rlly smell. If you ferret is neutered that helps a lot with the smell. Also it’s rlly not bad smell it’s nothing worse then what a dog or cat smells like

Hi! I love your videos! I currently have a rabbit right now and I’ve been really looking into getting a ferret! I was just wondering if you have any problems with owning ferrets and rodents at the same time? Since ferrets are predators to most rodents I was wondering if this has caused any problems? Also love all of your fluffy babies! They are to cute!
aw thank you! 🥰🥰 my ferrets don’t have access to the floor where I keep the rest of my pets on so i’ve not had any problems! as long as you keep them completely separate it should be fine, but remember if you do choose to get predatory animals while owning prey animals, then it is your responsibility to make sure they are all safe and that they have absolutely no access to each other. again, shouldn’t be a problem if you are able to keep them completely separate! make sure you also have the time to provide both your ferret and your bunny with their free roam time each day as i’m sure you know they both need a lot of time outside their cages! xxx
Maddie Leonczek ok! Thank you so much for your advice! And yes my rabbit has his own room and the ferret would most likely be in my room so there would be no interaction between the two. Plus I would definitely give them equal attention with lots of playtime out of there cages! Now I just have to convince my parents to let me get a ferret once I’ve done enough research that I need on them👍 thanks again!
no worries! another thing i would recommend would be to look at getting at least two ferrets - i started off with one and quickly learned that he would benefit a lot from having a friend, as they are extremely social animals! and they play with each other different than how they play with people so it’s really good for them to be able to do that! (and really fun to watch them playing🤪) it’s good for them to have a friend while they’re in their cage as well so they don’t get lonely when you’re not with them. if you do end up getting ferrets I’d suggest getting more than one at the same time as it can be very hard to introduce them xx

They shouldn't have it as food as they cant digest it, but it can be used as bedding as they love to use it as nesting material!

Is the thrive chicken good for ferrets? I have read that they are only allowed kitten food however this says cat food. I am probably wrong. You see, I am going to be getting a ferret soon and I am looking for the best ferret food.
Annie Dawson hi! kitten food is usually recommended over cat food because of its much higher protein content than cat food! however, thrive is 90% chicken and is 52% protein which is extremely good for both cat and kitten kibble - it’s actually the best kibble in the uk available for ferrets☺️ it doesn’t contain pea protein or wheat, which are common fillers in both cat and kitten kibble and can cause serious health issues in ferrets, such as kidney/bladder stones. saying that, id definitely suggest looking into raw diets as well! (i’m hoping to transition my ferrets soon) i’d also recommend joining ferret groups on facebook if you can - they often discuss diets/good kibbles available! good luck with your new ferret and happy researching! 🥰 im also planning on having a video up on ferret diets soon so stay tuned if you’re interested! ☺️xx

Do you keep your pets in separate rooms?
FerretBiz yeah, i have to since i have predator animals and prey animals!!! my ferrets have the furthest room downstairs and all my other pets are upstairs, the rest of them aren’t all in separate rooms though (i only have so much space😩🤣) - my ratties share a room with one of my hammies, the other hammies are in another room, and my rabbit has free roam upstairs. i’d keep all the hamsters in one room so the rats could have their own room too but their cages take up so much space 💀💀 i’ve arranged my rats room so that they can’t get near my hammys cage during free roam time and there’s a few doors separating the rest of my pets from my ferrets as well just to be extra safe x
