They're both soooo close with such tiny differences. At 0:43, you look much better on the right. For the other scenes, I can't tell much of a difference, so it really comes down to the details and personal preference. Like DJI handles the transition from dark to bright a bit smoother, and the sky looks lighter and less overprocessed. But none of them compare to the Pocket 3, so I wonder if you've ever thought about getting that one 😁
I would love to get the Pocket 3 tbh, it's a nice camera but there's two factors for me not getting it, first the price, here in Canada it's $720 plus taxes almost $900 ouch, second, I'm a knucklehead fumbling idiot, I have a habit of breaking things and I'm pretty sure two days in my Pocket 3 would be in 4 pieces. Not likely unless DJI wants to send me to test out, yah, not hold my breathe lol. We are in 2024, ALL flagship cameras should optimal light footage down to a T with marginal differences, color science is just preference, not a flaw, fanboys need to get that through their thick skulls, tired of them, won't put up with them. A lot say I'm a Insta360 fanboy, not really cause I'm loyal to two products, DJI and Insta360, they just make good products that have very little chronic issues like the 'other' brand. What set the cameras apart are the 'other' features we are seeing now, innovative features, usable features ie. low light capabilities, subject tracking, 65feet waterproofing etc. If a flagship can't get daytime footage right, they need to leave the industry, heck my daughter has a $99 Akasa and the 4K in daylight is pretty impressive lol
Yah, been doing a lot of testing, there's a lot to like with the A5 but in terms of imaging, I don't think it's a big upgrade from the A4. Sad to say but I think the A5 might be going back. Looking forward to what the Ace Pro 2 will offer, that could be the camera of the year again ;)

Ace Pro is a little better and shows more detail in the sky. From what I've seen and heard about the A5, some folks aren't very impressed with it over the A4. Photos are nicer from the Ace Pro.

Dont record in standard colour profile with the action 5 for the time being, it's absolutely horrible, HDR is overdone, colours are unnatrual. There are weird highlights around tree's... In D-Log M all these issues seem to be fixed, you can check 2 sample videos i did in d log M on my channel and it looks just fine there. DJI need to fix the standard colour profile and give users the option to change the bitrate in the next firmware update ASAP
DJI has always stand out with slightly better in details when lighting is optimal imo, why I have both but I prefer Ace Pro's color science more, both cameras compliment each other very well.
i have Insta360 Ace Pro on my own and im prety sure that something isnt right with your settings , there is sharpeness setting that you maybe havent change , there is no detail at all in your Ace Pro footage ....
Nope, verified settings before and after. I set both to the most default settings. I've got two Ace Pros and has had them for a year, give me some credit lol. 4K/30/HDR ON, Face Priority ON, Medium Sharpness, EV: 0, WB: Auto, STD Color profile, 16:9, Std Stab, LLS OFF. This is actually my standard everyday shooting configuration, and I set the Action 5 Pro to as close as these settings so they are more or less equal.
Great comparison video! I might prefer the Ace Pro in the majority of situations, but the Action 5 looked better on close up objects. I'm hoping the Ace Pro 2 will improve min focus distance! I like the direction of their AI tech
@@Sgs_tv It's not an issue, it's the lens limitation, Ace Pro sets their distance of focal range on their specs, no one bothers to read it. This dogs been beaten many times lol

The Action 5 has less detail than even the Action 4. I’d hold off on the Action 5 entirely until it’s fixed if ever. The clouds with the Action 5 have no detail.
Yah, DJI has already said the next fw will address the low bitrate deal which is probably why we are seeing these results, we'll see, camera is still young and has a lot of potential.
People need to remember why you're buying these cameras first. I have the ace pro. Yes, it has some good specs and the ace pro 2 im sure will be very impressive, But its not a practical camera at all for action use. Its not durable. Also, A lot of people prefer using mics for superior quality and ability to have that quality when you're not next to the camera. Now action 5 pro has direction to dji mic 2 with no receiver and the quality is good. Yes, Ace pro 2 will have that huge new built in mic, But still useless when not near the camera. I think the camera will be amazing as a blogging camera when you're slow and close to the camera, But not for the other reasons. Most reviewers said the flip screen is just irritating and can confirm that. Its a bigger camera so you can hope the specs are better. But this wont even matter to most in the end. Just remember what your needs are for an action camera. Not trying to downplay the ace pro, It has its purpose and will be good for that. I would even consider it if they somehow end up having amazing wireless mic connection but un likely.
I will have to disagree, I use mine in action and have for the past year from mountain biking, to hunting, canoeing, kayaking, skiing, scuba diving so I'm not sure where you're going with this is not durable. I have yet to break anything on my camera nor have I scratched it but I try to protect it as much as I can, ie. dive housing, cages etc. As for the flip up screen, let's be really really honest here and this dog has been beaten and even stated by several other users/content creators, if you don't want that thing up, keep it down, it's really that simple and I'm sure you'll come back with there's no front display, we have to remember that front displays are relatively new and we seemed to have survived without it for generations. There are still after market cameras that don't have front displays. I for one with my old eyes find it very hard to see the front screen especially in an action environment where the camera is far away. If you don't use that 'flip' up display, it's just like another action camera. I thought at first it was kind of goofy but I'm finding that I use it more and more due to the fact that it's large and looks better then any of the other competitors screens, cept the A5, I do like the OLED screen ;) If you're an audiophile then the Ace Pro might not be the camera for you and Insta360 has address some pretty requested audio issues/upgrades in AP2, btw, that's not a 'huge' built in mic, I believe that's a removeable windmuff ;) We have to remember that just because we don't like something about set camera that doesn't mean everybody else will not like it, everyone uses their cameras different and to say this is not a durable/action camera well, there are hundreds of users including me that will just plain and simple debunked that. I like how you say you're not trying to downplay Ace Pro but you literally did with what you wrote and you have already downplayed the Ace Pro 2 which isn't even out yet lol. The camera that works for the person is the right camera for THAT person.

Nothing wrong with that. I have the ace my friend. I just think people forget that they need to think about what they use it for and these cameras all have different benefits. It would be amazing if ace 2 has amazing wireless mic to keep the battery door closed, but it likely won't like GoPro. But that huge built in mic shown in leaks will have good sound when close to the camera. I think you misunderstood me because you kind of sound defensive but I wasn't trying to sound like I was crapping on one camera. We both had the cameras and you went a long way to defend it when I also said good things about it in the first post.

GoPro has always had bad wireless sound options, DJI is top notch for their audio eco system. Don't read me wrong, the DJI Action compliments my Ace Pro as for durability, I think both are excellent in that field, now the DJI I think probably has an edge over Ace Pro because it doesn't have that flip up display and DJI has always beat GP and AP for their waterproofing and footprint which is why I use both. But I have to keep reminding myself this, Ace Pro was 1st generation action class camera compared to 13 and 5 generation cameras and it's still stands pretty strong. I honestly think the Ace Pro was a test market device and we are about to see some pretty interesting specs and changes with 2nd generation. It's actually quite incredible what they did with their first action camera, imagine what Ace Pro 3 will be like if they keep doing what they have been doing ;)

Yeah, I think ace pro 2 is going to try to be the all in one out of the box device. Which will be perfect for some people. I think my first post came off harsh but was not my intention. That bulky mic added to ace pro 2 will be great but nothing will be having 2 wireless high quality mics attached with no side door open. And yeah, the flip screen can be fine for some but just in the way for others. Thats why i was trying to say these cameras have different purposes that fit better for different needs. I was shocked how small the action 5 is since i got used to having the ace pro. All these people riding bikes, Camping youtube channels, The wireless mic is the seller over higher specs. There is no way around that being insanely helpful for users. I would consider getting ace 2 if it had the same quality wireless mic options. gopro connected to dji mic 2 sounds bad and i dont see ace pro being any different.

Mic2 via bluetooth on other devices won't be as good as I think they did something proprietary with that mic for the A4 and A5. I was talking to insta360 about maybe them coming up with their own wireless mic system and they didn't say they weren't, interesting. Why not, with the X series, the GO series and Ace Pro series, they have more camera line ups then DJI. That would be a killer and offer it cheaper, cause let's be honest, the Mic2 system is not cheap compared a lot out there. Yah, the Action cameras have always been the smallest of all 3 players, why I still love that line. Heck, I still use my original osmo action, that thing is even smaller and still shoots good video.
Damn! I have the ace pro and kinda regret buying it instead of the A4 but looking at the A5 vs the Ace Pro it looks like the Ace Pro is somehow taking the lead, i guess the 4 hr battery life is because of lower bitrate on the A5?
I would hang onto the Ace Pro, if you're in the market for another/new one, wait for the AP2, I think it's going to destroy GP/DJI tbh. GP and DJI were 'incremental' upgrades, nothing major. GP did nothing really and DJI added some decent features at least but did not do anything with the video quality, they downgraded if anything imo. From what I'm hearing the Ace Pro 2 is a lot of over haul, we'll see ;)

Remember that only about 10% of users of action cameras utilize 10 Bit/LOG, if I was a upcoming company going up against companies like DJI/GP, I would go after that 90% of the market first and as you can see, they've done very well. At the end of the day no matter how great or bad these things are, it's just simple economics ;) You don't think those other 'two' are worried? They are probably freaking out... DJI is trying to push that low light market to compete with who? Not GoPro lol and GoPro is patent trolling Insta360, that lawsuit disappeared rather quickly hahaha. GoPro was saying we don't want to sue them, we just want their cameras banded in North America lol Funny, because GP had the same patent infringement from a company name Contour, not sure if you remember them, I actually have one of their action cameras, still works, it's like 15 years old. Contour got crushed because GP was so big by then, they buried that company. If GP continues to do what they think is best, they won't survive, GP13 was a complete fail and that's coming from a lot of GP users/fanboys, that's a bad sign ;)

Yah, I find in 'standard color' profile, it's a tad over saturated, flat profile is more what most like. I like a bit over saturated as I grew up with the old Kodak color profiles back in the good ol days where saturation was a big thing 🤣

I have the Action 5 and my Ace Pro shoots far better quality video. That may change with a bitrate firmware upgrade?

Yah, strange that the A4 is actually better right out of camera. I think they made a mistake cranking down that bitrate though.

Yah, unfortunately Ace Pro has always had a longer min focus range then the others. I believe they have addressed this issue in Ace Pro 2 ;)

The best camera for the clouds is the Gopro. Each camera has its goods and bads.
Actually I prefer Ace Pro for clouds, but everyone has different preference, whatever works for that person is best ;)
Ace Pro has a better quality look on UA-cam. More detail in the leaves and clouds.
