Very nice Titanite! But there are bigger ones on Titanite hill! Great digs at the Miller property as well, nice apatites. Some large cluster of Titanite were found there too. Glad you had fun in Ontario!! Appears the bugs liked you as well! LOL!
You picked the worst year in a very long time for bugs up here. Normally, by now they are mostly burned off. I have been to that location many times, but still greatly enjoyed watching your adventure and I am pleased that you found some nice crystals.
I see you missed the approximately 36-48 hr window in the spring between the weather getting nice and the hoard of bloodthirsty emerging. Nice to see the perspective of someone from outside the area checking out some of the deposits in this part of ontario as i think all to often we take them for granted. Thanks for posting
@Dave Flasconaro No. Those buggers are everywhere. Before you complain go to greece for a week. You'll be grateful that you have got to deal with so much less of them
This was the first video of the Crystal Collector that I saw and started me watching. Your excitement shows just how much you love crystals Bryan, and its contagious lol. Its strange to see no Matrix but they are gorgeous crystals. I don't remember seeing the red crystals but that means I watched it again as if it was the first time lol. I had fun watching the crystals emerge from that hole, I dont think I would have got in there not that I was big when I was young but I dont like tiny spaces. I will try watching some more and wait for a new episode. Love and hugs my friend Mary-Ellen UK
I like the green ones the best. I always enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot about crystal hunting from watching you dig. Thanks for all you do. Love ya!✌️❤️
The best place near Ottawa to get started is the Miller Property, AKA Lost Mine. Cost is $10 donation and a really good spot. There are videos on UA-cam about it and lots of info if you Google it.
Thanks for the reply. Ill check it out. I was doing a bunch of google research and a lot of the places I came across ended up saying they were now privately owned and not accessible.
Just thinking a little bit longer - - you can download for free a book by Ann P. Sabina which identifies a number of spots around Ottawa (road-cuts and mines), which are probably worthwhile to check out. Just Google her name and "ottawa". I have not been there (yet) as Ottawa is a 4-5 hour drive for me. For sure, some will be restricted access, but it might also be a good place to start. Hope that is helpful.
Wayne Hennie I was just asked to go up by some friends, not sure how they heard about it but a lot of the locals seem to know because there was a lot of people at both places
Dang it, I spent some time up in bancroft and all I got was some sodalite (nice pieces too) and some nice boulder feldspar and some green stone with quartz veins (and a little feldspar) in it that is amazing. But I asked around at about 10 places about mining for crystals and there was no help to be had. Where do I find the place you were at?
Chris - IMHO 1st stop should be the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce. They run tours and are an excellent way to get started. Otherwise, they have info on the larger public sites in the area that you can do "self directed".
Where are all those flies coming from? So many… It’s amazing how you find (and your companions) so many different type crystals, gems, etc. Takes a lot of dedication and long hours and hard work but well worth it in the end.
Next time you want to toss a stone away remember me... lol I'll take any you don't really want. I'm disabled and can't walk or stand. So I have no way to dig my own. God knows how I wish I could.I have a geode with crystal and aquamarine inside, some Amethyst, Quartz Crystals, Onyx, a baby Sapphire, and a tiny little Ruby. One that I have no idea what it is. It's quarts crystal, and looks like it's never been washed. Some of the crystals are orange others are clear or some have what looks like red sand inside the quartz. I have been studying about stones and all there names. I'm getting better at it every day. You Tube is a real good place for me to gin experience with all the varied types. My husband and I will take the tests on stones and when they show the rough stones I say what stone it is. and he tries to guess too. I only missed 3 on my last test. I think my getting old now may have something to do with not remembering 100%. I have been watching your channel almost every day. I subscribed and all that utube jazz. So get to posting, and I'lllet you know when I have finished your video dig's. Bye hon.
nice finds crystal collector, looks like you are in caver461 territory!! i heard you dont want to leave the fresh apatite crystals still cold from being in the ground in the sunshine cause they might fracture
MrAnthrocite That's certainly also true for biotite as we saw from the iridescent color disappearing. It's not just the change in temperature but the moisture level too. Biotite will begin flaking apart.
I've been in northern Canada fishing, the mosquitoes are miserable and the black flies will literally take chunks out of your skin. We used a bear grease repellent that stank like doo doo, but it worked very well. After about the 3rd day you didn't notice the stink so bad, everyone else was wearing it. I hear that there's a newer version available without stink. I know by experience that the original version worked very well.
I was at the titanite hill location a couple days ago and found a massive feldspar about the size of a football and an apitite larger than a foot long sub
The Crystal Collector ..yea both places are great I have fantastic pieces from both locations.. is there a place I can share photos of my finds with you? I believe I have a few you'd be interested in seeing esp. From the smart mine
I've been going up to that area my entire life. But I only started rockhounding last year. Thanks for the great video man! I love your show now, and it's amazing that you were up here. I have a couple videos on my own page of other locations you might find interesting. Amazing minerals everywhere in that area.
I sell everything I find on my eBay store, Google search ultra rocks eBay to locate it. But you can go out and dig these yourself if you can make it up to Canada!
I tend to sleep on mine...even my floor is covered in rocks of every sort.Have you ever seen or heard of what I assume is black Topaz or some other type of 8+ Mohs volcanic with parallel striations making it appear opaque/semi-translucent(black in body color) on one angle,to clear/color-less when turned 90deg?I have one fairly small piece and have not seen another one like it,so unusual...
Two main ways, first you would need to understand a little bit of the geology in the area and what has the potential to form, then you just have to go out and look the surface for pieces that have decayed out over time. Normally those pieces will be tiny and very insignificant but you dig down deeper and find the pocket💎🙌
Casey Gramz I knew I heard that song from a game I played when I was a kid ....thanks I was wondering about that song and I just couldn't remember where it was from
Hey! I have a big forest for my backyard with two rock quarries in sight, and I live in New Brunswick, a bit outside of the capital. Do you think thered be a possibility of finding something hidden by the brook/river or within the forest ?
Do you ever find any Indian artifacts such as spear points are arrowheads Pottery shards in your digs? If so would you please post them I have an interest in those as well as minerals and fossils thank you
With all the rocks/and crystals you have found and collected, do you still get the same rush of excitement with every find. no matter how small? I know for me it doesn’t get old But than again I haven’t found anything close to what you have
We ran into you in Quadeville at the Beryl mine. Are you coming back at all this year? Were heading up for our rock hounding trip this Saturday! Can't wait to get back up there.

I know it's the same stuff as our stomach acid, only concentrated, but still a bad idea. Life is messy, and a muddy dig where you're climbing around in a hole trying to prise a crystal out of it's matrix doesn't seem like the best place to use that method. No go. Maybe take the larger chunk home and use the acid there to remove your crystal from the matrix where you can control conditions better to be sure of both your safety, that of the environment and that of your crystal.
I love your Videos. Crystals are my passion too. Maybe you have heard about the “Grube Clara“ in Germany. I was there some weeks ago and found some very nice pieces.
be carful in those trails guys bugs arent the only thing out there we get cougars and mountain lions as well as wolves i have run into all 3 so far in the years i lived in the area also be wary of toxic plants that will give you burns
used to want to be a geologist or something like that because of things like this. Super cool what you do. Hope to see more vids, just saw like 5 of them jajaja and will eventually see them all.
Not if you are picking surface finds by hand.Once you dig down so far with a machine is when you need claims and such, also private property prospecting or surface picking on someone else`s claim is no bueno without permission, crown land is fair game for wild cat prospecting, tho,if I am not mistaken...laws might have changed a bit or I could be totally wrong,I would also like to know how accurate or current my information was,if there was misinformation stated, it was not intentional.
I would love to dig in Canada!! Such a beautiful place! I love the natural world and the crystals that form. I would love to find the perfect rock from somewhere I love, i would have it faceted and wear it on my wedding ring and it would not matter if it is not precious.it would only.
Finding apatites AND appetites! Excellent! Seems like big appetites can be found almost everywhere. 😏 I grew up not far from Utah Lake. When the water was high, it would flood fields for miles and miles around. Talk about mosquito heaven. Fun fact: only female mosquitos suck blood. The males eat plant matter.
Hey man how was your day but in indiana i was wondering if you will come to Indianapolis or help me find out where they are but i would love to visit you and dig some up have a good one
Yes but where in canada I know in somewhere around North Bay you can dig for Amethyst if you get permission from whoever owns the mine, but where of what parts of canada are you guys digging for your crystal.
Hey man this is sick I'm in high school rn and once I get out I would like to be a physical geologist and have wanted to be since 2nd grade any advice?
I find this fascinating! It's amazing to see what's in the ground. However, I haven't seen any of your other videos, but just one question - do you ever put the land back to the way it was?
with bugs like that just drink a cup of vinegar in the morning.... it worked for me in cuba and they were bad. choked cows to death . good work and you guys are havin way too much fun it's 20 below zero here and im itching for spring to sell home and join you in mission to expose natures family jewels. do you find many arrowheads?
Hi this is Mr. Mac Skeeter, thanks for coming by and feeding us, we had the BIGGEST appetite of all!
I love crystal. I have never gone digging for them. I would love to try.
How is the volume? Works ok on my phone but low on laptop
The Crystal Collector sounds good! The level is a bit low but I just turned up my volume all the way. Great video! Looks like it was an exciting dig!
Hi
The Crystal Collector the sounds pretty good
The Crystal Collector have you gone to Washington near Seattle to mine
Could be slightly higher but it's bearable.

Wow on the jolly rancher one. Congrats. Looks like your having fun.
Very nice Titanite! But there are bigger ones on Titanite hill! Great digs at the Miller property as well, nice apatites. Some large cluster of Titanite were found there too. Glad you had fun in Ontario!! Appears the bugs liked you as well! LOL!
Love this video! Makes me even more inspired to search for minerals here in Norway.
The titanite at about 3:00 is my favourite. Glad you had a good time up here!
Geology of Gems & Minerals thanks, I didn't realize at first how nice of a piece it was, it was one of the first things I found on the trip!
Geology of Gems & Minerals o
You have a great personality to do these video’s, you make me laugh but also teach me stuff I did not know....THANKS
Headed there tomorrow - I see you are tapping into some of my old diggings
Caver461 sweet deal! Wish I was able to dig more there, it was an exciting trip!
Caver461 where is this? I'm in Ontario Canada, :)
Gibson property near Tory Hill. He's got us saying Whaaat now - LOL
Sad to have missed you, both my rockhound partner and I are avid watchers of your channel. Wish we had quartz in Ontario like you find in the US.
Caver461 - Where are the crystals in Strathcona county AB canada
You picked the worst year in a very long time for bugs up here. Normally, by now they are mostly burned off. I have been to that location many times, but still greatly enjoyed watching your adventure and I am pleased that you found some nice crystals.
The Appatite inside of the light pink Calcite is such a beautiful color combination!
I love watching your Videos. Nature is Crazy.
Been there! Lots of bugs for sure haha
LUCKY!
I see you missed the approximately 36-48 hr window in the spring between the weather getting nice and the hoard of bloodthirsty emerging. I like you! You see beuty in everything! And you're happy on what you've got! I am so inspired by you may God Bless you 😊
Janiel Vylet Agatha Machura thanks so much, I look forward to making more videos and spreading the love of rocks and nature around 🙌💎
Janiel Vylet Agatha Machura Now we know where mosquitoes come from. Canada
@Dave Flasconaro No. Those buggers are everywhere. Before you complain go to greece for a week. You'll be grateful that you have got to deal with so much less of them
*beauty
Loving the way it looks embedded in the calcite

*"Welp... im gonna crawl outta this hole"*
me after my first retail job...
I enjoyed the hell out of this video. It's simple but it helps me understand the concept of digging watching you work.
if you are ever in maine you should come to my mine in Falmouth! nice quartz plates
I just came across your channel...wow...I'm in love...what you do it just amazing! Can't stop watching! Wishing you all the luck!
I like the green ones the best. I always enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot about crystal hunting from watching you dig. Thanks for all you do. Love ya!✌️❤️
Thanks for watching and the support 💎🙌💎🙌🙌💜💜💜

The Crystal Collector
That's good, Canada is my home and I love it here!~
I like Kanada
Canada very nice
I would love to spend a day or two doing this. I'm just east of Ottawa, whats the best way to start? Who do I contact?

May I ask how did you know about
Titanite Hill in Ontario Canada ? and that Smart Mine ? Is there a publication that mentions these sort of places ?
Wayne Hennie I was just asked to go up by some friends, not sure how they heard about it but a lot of the locals seem to know because there was a lot of people at both places

It would be great if sometime you could do some some lessons on how certain crystals are formed. You are great at teaching.
Yes I am going to start talking about that more often in my videos about how they form and stuff
I am so jealous,.. I wish I could go rockhounding and find some great specimens..
Awesome!! Sort of soothing in a way, not sure how. Totally subbing.
Very cool. Are you going to list any of the apatite in your ebay store?
Heather Carter yes hopefully in the next day or two !! 🙌💎👍

Zelda - Love that song. Where abouts are you digging in ontario? know of any locations around eastern ontario?
looks like Lost Mine or with the Titanite, probably Gibson Road
I was at the titanite hill location a couple days ago and found a massive feldspar about the size of a football and an apitite larger than a foot long sub
Edy Jones that place is great! I enjoy digging with others and there seemed to be many people digging there! Makes it fun 💎🙌
The Crystal Collector ..yea both places are great I have fantastic pieces from both locations.. is there a place I can share photos of my finds with you? I believe I have a few you'd be interested in seeing esp. From the smart mine
The Crystal Collector
Fact of the day most "foot long subs" are actually 11inches
I love watching your adventure digging lot of stuff. From Philippines here. Hoping for more cool videos keep it up guys
I learned from you too much special how I see beauty at any stone thanks a lot man .
I've been going up to that area my entire life. But I only started rockhounding last year. Thanks for the great video man! I love your show now, and it's amazing that you were up here. Man those titanites are awesome! Would love one for the collection lol
I sell everything I find on my eBay store, Google search ultra rocks eBay to locate it. But you can go out and dig these yourself if you can make it up to Canada!
What do you do when you get bit by a snake when you stick your hands way in like that?
Hasn’t ever happened! Let’s hope it never does 😳😳😳💪🐍🦎🦂🕸🕷
Where is this place while on holidays looking to go and experience digging some pretty gems on our own...can you give me the location?
This location is right outside of Bancroft Canada, I don’t have the exact address, when up there only spoke with some friends
Very nice giant biotite crystal 👍👍👍👍
Hey, I've collected here! Great spot eh!!!
Magnificent finds awesome adventure keep the videos coming
Ily crystal collecter and all ur crystals and the legend of zelda intro music!!
What do you guys do with all the crystals and gems your find?
Bigsaxas sell trade and give them away🙌💎
I tend to sleep on mine...even my floor is covered in rocks of every sort.Have you ever seen or heard of what I assume is black Topaz or some other type of 8+ Mohs volcanic with parallel striations making it appear opaque/semi-translucent(black in body color) on one angle,to clear/color-less when turned 90deg?I have one fairly small piece and have not seen another one like it,so unusual...
Do you keep some of those
Jesus
How do you guys know where to find the crystals? the first time around, when nobody has found any there
Two main ways, first you would need to understand a little bit of the geology in the area and what has the potential to form, then you just have to go out and look the surface for pieces that have decayed out over time. Normally those pieces will be tiny and very insignificant but you dig down deeper and find the pocket💎🙌
@@TheCrystalCollector oh thanks, thats pretty interesting, I suposed it had something to do with that.
Where can I search for gems and chyrstals in the area outside of Edmonton Alberta Canada?
I love your dedication to Sarias song. lol
Casey Gramz is that song from final fantasy?
turd mac version
It's from Zelda
Casey Gramz I knew I heard that song from a game I played when I was a kid ....thanks I was wondering about that song and I just couldn't remember where it was from
Are there any public dig sites in Georgia?
Great videos, I appreciate the knowledge passed on.
Hey! I have a big forest for my backyard with two rock quarries in sight, and I live in New Brunswick, a bit outside of the capital. Do you think thered be a possibility of finding something hidden by the brook/river or within the forest ?
I’m not sure the geology; it may be worth checking out though 🙌💎🙏😮⛏⛏⛏
What's the pink stuff made of I love the color of it.
It’s calcite actually 💎💎💎
What part of Ontario were you in in this video?
Do you ever find any Indian artifacts such as spear points are arrowheads Pottery shards in your digs? If so would you please post them I have an interest in those as well as minerals and fossils thank you
With all the rocks/and crystals you have found and collected, do you still get the same rush of excitement with every find. no matter how small?
I know for me it doesn’t get old
But than again I haven’t found anything close to what you have
We ran into you in Quadeville at the Beryl mine. Are you coming back at all this year? Were heading up for our rock hounding trip this Saturday! Can't wait to get back up there.
8:10 you can dissolve the calcite with some kind of acid. For example muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) can be used (I find it to be the most useful in terms of effectiveness and cost)
You might need too much and it might be an environmental hazard in larger amounts. I dunno, it seems like too hazardous a substance to be carrying around on a semi-professional hobby dig.
Oh wow, I didn’t even think about that, definitely would not want to get caught out there with a bunch of big cats 🐈!!!! 😳😳😳
awesome video man , should make a return trip , those samples look wicked ! ive never found anything close to looking like that haha
If you were to sell one of your average sized crystals how much would it sell for
Is that place public and what place is that? Because i like discovering and my friend to and we want to work together
Great finds guys. You didn't show any cleaned up Mica Books👍🏻
Rockhunter62 was going to show some but forgot, mostly still uncleared, been too busy to clean 😅🙌🙌
used to want to be a geologist or something like that because of things like this. Super cool what you do. Hope to see more vids, just saw like 5 of them jajaja and will eventually see them all.
Great finds, congrats!
Thank you so much for playing Saria’s Song at the beginning 😂
Hate bugs especially bugs that bite.
roger roger 2187 I know right
So are you guys required by law to purchase a permit to dig for gemstones in the mountains of Canada?
Not if you are picking surface finds by hand.Once you dig down so far with a machine is when you need claims and such, also private property prospecting or surface picking on someone else`s claim is no bueno without permission, crown land is fair game for wild cat prospecting, tho,if I am not mistaken...laws might have changed a bit or I could be totally wrong,I would also like to know how accurate or current my information was,if there was misinformation stated, it was not intentional.
Do you have the name of the place where you dug? I live in Ontario :)
I can’t remember the actual name or location this was a few years ago and I was taking their by some friends
loved it man! great finds i have to head there asap!
Usually just watch and like but had to comment, Still waiting to see the Bugs Digging for crystals.

Which province/territory in Canada were u digging in?
I would love to dig in Canada!! Such a beautiful place! I love the natural world and the crystals that form. I would love to find the perfect rock from somewhere I love, i would have it faceted and wear it on my wedding ring and it would not matter if it is not precious.it would only.

I grew up not far from Utah Lake. When the water was high, it would flood fields for miles and miles around. Talk about mosquito heaven. Fun fact: only female mosquitos suck blood. The males eat plant matter.
Can I get info on this location? I have a cabin in Ontario...

Cool video dogging for gems looks fun mabey I will try once
Digging*
I live in Chicago theres no places around here to dig 🙁😞
So happy to see a video!!!! 👌🏼
Is there crystals in Scotland?
I find this fascinating! It's amazing to see what's in the ground. However, I haven't seen any of your other videos, but just one question - do you ever put the land back to the way it was?
Do you know if Amazon sells titanite
Good Old Titanite Hill!
Can You Tell Us Where You Keep All Your Rocks Plz Tho
Is it bad rockhound manners for someone to start digging around in your spot when you were eating lunch?
Normally but she is a great friend of mine so we all just dig together, it was cool, I was messing around with her 😆 💜💯
with bugs like that just drink a cup of vinegar in the morning.... it worked for me in cuba and they were bad. choked cows to death . good work and you guys are havin way too much fun it's 20 below zero here and im itching for spring to sell home and join you in mission to expose natures family jewels. do you find many arrowheads?
