Few decades ago we were told that it was 'uncivilized' to sit on the floor and eat with our hands. But turns out it's simply just healthy to do so. 😅 Thanks for this. ❤
Thank you so much. What a great video. I'm looking for a great posture while on the floor, sitting and this video explained every thing I needed. It was comfortable except 1 positioned which I have to bend my left knees towards my left side, that my right knee is bended towards left knee. I have coupled of accidents, and decades it was not able to get proper theraphy. But it did not bothered me until now that I am almost 66 yrs old. Take care and once again thank you. What a great website. You tube. 👍😊♥️
Thank you. I have learned new position from this video. 4th position. It's more comfortable for me than others. But I am working on 3rd position as my main sitting pose. Thanks again. Great job.
Thanks so much for this! First one way the hardest for me. Spent my life to 37 in a chair, always had tight leg muscles (calfs too). Tricky thing is adapting formal office environment to be able to sit like this, also shared living spaces full of eg sofas (i share a big house), but will endeavour! Thanks again.
i have always sat on the floor - like on the floor all the time...my keyboard and mouse is on a small stool, ive a charger snaked out and theres always my coffee cup, ashtray, tobacco things and my blow heater pointed right into my soul - i edit videos, write songs on my DAW and did a telesales job from home, all sitting on the floor..some call we weird, others join me on the floor when they visit despite the perfectly good seating everywhere. i think it comes from always sitting at the open fire, i only think people have noticed the past 20 years because i started smoking and adopted the use of cell phone technology, the close to handedness of these items gives a physical evidence to suggest someone sits there where before there wasnt any
Could you show how to read sitting on the floor and show how to keep neck and shoulders in good position? Thanks. Alsi if i want to stay away from internal rotation as I need more external, which would be the best one?
Hello, i have a desk that goes up and down. But when it is down, it is not enough down, it’s a little tto high to be on the ground. What could I buy in order to be higher ? Thank you so much for your devices. Philippe
can we sit down on the ground for hours?? is it bad for our lower back? Because i don't have a desk so i have to do my stuffs using portable small table and sitting on the ground.
hi I'm ur new subscriber I have lower back pain I watched it video it helping me but also I have slightly hench back shoulder so when ever I tried to keep anterior pelvic in it's position I have to make shoulder little round give some ideas to keep anterior pelvic in position and also my shoulder straight
Dear sir. I can do the 90/90. However I find myself twisting to the side a bit. Any suggestions on how to improve my ability to sit in this position with less twisting or pain. Want to sit straighter. Thank you for great content
hello sir, I'm 18 yr old guy, I have anterior pelvic tilt but when I sit on ground and spread my legs, I can see a posterior pelvic tilt or butt wink, what could be my problem and what can I do
To me the best examples of natural seating positions are the natives who sell their crafts and goodies on the street, the had never used chairs in their lifes and you can see them chilling for hours in those apparently impossible positions.
The side leg id best for me..its pretty bad im sweating from sitting straight legged.... im in good cardio shape i lift weights but my lower back is very tight and my hamstrings Im working on that
7:55 , i feel comfortable on both side just by adjusting my back ankle move towads the hip, and front ankle towards thie of other leg,i can adjust my body in a no. of relax position by the way vedio content is usefull for me
Really great video! I think sitting will need to be improved in the upcoming years when more people see how bad it is for your body. I have attempted on sitting on the floor full time at home. I get lower back pain though I think its from a posterior pelvic tilt sitting. Do you think if I do a lot of hip stretches I'll be able to sit on the floor without back pain? Even when i'm on my knees though I still get back pain.
7:11 tell me why this is the most comfortable? Like I feel like my back doesn't align properly or something. My back hurts so bad sitting criss cross or legs out
Great video, except - how do I get from here to there? Would love to be able to sit on the ground, even in the simple position, but decades of joint, bone & tendon injuries make it virtually impossible in almost any position. Any suggestions on approaches for progessive stretching and mobility? Especially from the standpoint of a really broken person thay wants to avoid more surgeries? FWIW: Shattered left hip, torn petulla on both sides, torn miniscus in left, broken right knee, both ankles & hips with hyperextension injuries, multiple fusions and radial fractures in the neck, etc.
I myself am a huge fan of floor sitting for many reasons. However, floor sitting can be very challenging for some people including you who haven't done it for many years and their body is not used to that position. My suggestion is to use a cushion or two to "raise the floor" so demands on your hips and spine will be lessened and gradually reduce the height of support as your body starts to adapt to the new demands. It's a little uncomfortable at first, but a good thing is that our body (anyone's) and brain (anyone's) can adapt regardless of our age. We just have to be patient and pace ourselves. It'll be worth your time and effort. Good luck!
When I do the Groin stretch/Indian position, I got my feet touching & knees out to the sides but my hips are so tight that I can't get my knees anywhere near the floor. Any suggestions? Great video!
This starts out way too advanced for me. How do you get from bracing hands in back (which starts to really strain the shoulders) to sitting upright feet forward? There's a whole protocol to get to that level.
Who in God's name named crossed leg sitting the 'indian position', im indian and NEVER heard of this, I'm so glad u recognise that's not the best name for it 🤣 and it is one of the best positions to sit in to strengthen the bottom half
Except 90:90, all the poses you mentioned is going to pull the lumber disc out. Even your sitting, you are slouching and your lower back curve is not there. Not a long term solution. Ouch!,,
Yo whenever I sit criss cross with my back straight my hip flexors burn a lot. Is it because they're not used to this? Should I use this as a workout and push through the burning? It feels like the muscle is getting worked out
would love to be able to sit down with my legs crossed. I have been stretching for increase flexibility to internally rotate legs to sit, however this has been challenging.
After sitting on the floor for a week,i dont find sitting in the chair appealing anymore Sit on the ground (floor) people whenever you can Its great for your back and muscles and maybe even sex.
I have a pet peeve with people that sit on the ground, like people that go to parties and sit on the floor in huddles and try to talk all soft, and guru like. Yuk! It's like the ultimate virtual signal. "Hey guys and girls look at me I'm humble and kind and super in touch with the universe!" Super goofy!! Let's be clear, I'm not dissing this video, I'm not saying this dude is like those people. it's just this video gave me flashbacks.

Thanks this answered all my questions I was wondering why working on the floor was so hard at times. This helped me alot
Few decades ago we were told that it was 'uncivilized' to sit on the floor and eat with our hands. But turns out it's simply just healthy to do so. 😅 Thanks for this. ❤
Who else stood up from chair and sat on ground.

Great video, I'm trying to figure out the best way to use the laptop on the floor
Thank you. I have learned new position from this video. 4th position. It's more comfortable for me than others. But I am working on 3rd position as my main sitting pose. Thanks again. Great job.
Is it ok to use a cushion for indian position or does that reduce/counteract the benefits
If the positions are diffocult I think it'd be a good idea to sit on something like a blanket to elevate just a little
That's a great point goofy dog. Thanks!
Do you know what muscle i need to make more flexible to sit on the floor? Is it my quads/ glutes?
@@bronzong91 quad, glutes, hamstrings and lower back
Deadass just talked about one of these positions that’s crazy but yes trash the chair and get them hamstrings back. My L sit improved within a week.
For me, you went from hardest to easiest 😂.
My issue is keeping my back straight when sitting on the floor. So I mostly lean on a wall.
This is very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you!!! I was exactly looking for a comfier way to sit!!!
Thanks so much for this! First one way the hardest for me. Spent my life to 37 in a chair, always had tight leg muscles (calfs too). It's always a challenge in this day and age! Make sure you're also doing a good mobility program - www.movestrongnow.com
Strength Side Thank you!
Um, time to build a office which everyone could choose to work on the floor.
Great suggestions
Really helpful! Thank you very much
Hello..can someone with chronic sciatica do these sitting positions on the floor? If yes will it help? Thanks a lot
Thank you !!! Anything for our circulation, like any way to sit to ensure your blood is circulating you dont get the dead leg
i have always sat on the floor - like on the floor all the time...my keyboard and mouse is on a small stool, ive a charger snaked out and theres always my coffee cup, ashtray, tobacco things and my blow heater pointed right into my soul - i edit videos, write songs on my DAW and did a telesales job from home, all sitting on the floor..some call we weird, others join me on the floor when they visit despite the perfectly good seating everywhere. i think it comes from always sitting at the open fire, i only think people have noticed the past 20 years because i started smoking and adopted the use of cell phone technology, the close to handedness of these items gives a physical evidence to suggest someone sits there where before there wasnt any
Somehow I wonder about it since I have the chance to sit on the ground to use my PC, thx!
Thank you for sharing! i find your videos super helpful
Do you have any sleeping position tips?
The first one is already hard for me. I need to work on my flexibility asap! :')
Could you show how to read sitting on the floor and show how to keep neck and shoulders in good position? Thanks. Alsi if i want to stay away from internal rotation as I need more external, which would be the best one?
Yes, when I sit on the floor with my phone/reading I have to look down and that affects neck& shoulder
Thanks for the video. I wish you would demonstrate how to get down and sit on the floor.
That's hard for me as well.
Hello, i have a desk that goes up and down. But when it is down, it is not enough down, it’s a little tto high to be on the ground. What could I buy in order to be higher ? Thank you so much for your devices. Philippe
wow i always wondered y im not comfortable in a chair, what do you think of mewing>
can we sit down on the ground for hours?? is it bad for our lower back? Because i don't have a desk so i have to do my stuffs using portable small table and sitting on the ground.
great video im already sitting on the floor
my glutes ache in all of these positions.. is it cutting off circulation and risking clots?
hi I'm ur new subscriber I have lower back pain I watched it video it helping me but also I have slightly hench back shoulder so when ever I tried to keep anterior pelvic in it's position I have to make shoulder little round

thank you. How many hours is it going to take to get used to the first position?
Not hours just sit whenever it's tea time or some break and time runs it will be easy for you
Maybe one week 😁
Thank you brother, fitness goals

Been sitting on a small Ikea side table for about a month now. I'm never getting a chair again.
Dear sir. I can do the 90/90. However I find myself twisting to the side a bit. Any suggestions on how to improve my ability to sit in this position with less twisting or pain. Want to sit straighter. Thank you for great content

Are you right hand or left hand just wondering cause you said the one position felt werid to you ?
To me the best examples of natural seating positions are the natives who sell their crafts and goodies on the street, the had never used chairs in their lifes and you can see them chilling for hours in those apparently impossible positions.

If you keep working at it slowly, you will. Try propping yourself up on a pillow.
I just like your Indian (hands side-bottom of knees) and Danish sitting pose.
right?
7:11 tell me why this is the most comfortable? Like I feel like my back doesn't align properly or something. My back hurts so bad sitting criss cross or legs out
What about seiza? Is it good for posture?
Great video, except - how do I get from here to there? Would love to be able to sit on the ground, even in the simple position, but decades of joint, bone & tendon injuries make it virtually impossible in almost any position.

I couldn't do the other ones at all but the internal rotation posture at the end was a breeze. I guess I've got a few imbalances to work out.
I feel pain in my knees, what sitting position is the best to combat that?
WalkingClouds kneel until something else hurts more
When I do the Groin stretch/Indian position, I got my feet touching & knees out to the sides but my hips are so tight that I can't get my knees anywhere near the floor. Any suggestions? Great video!
probably some adduction/external rotation work. Also trying to get in that position way more often!
This starts out way too advanced for me. How do you get from bracing hands in back (which starts to really strain the shoulders) to sitting upright feet forward? There's a whole protocol to get to that level.

are you no longer with upright health?
why is it that when i do this my hip flexors are fatiguing?
They first one my body wants to stay at maybe a 70° or 80° angle. I have to hold myself up.
Except 90:90, all the poses you mentioned is going to pull the lumber disc out. Even your sitting, you are slouching and your lower back curve is not there. Not a long term solution. Ouch!,,

Yes probably not used to it. As long as it's not bad pain I would use these positions as much as you can to improve your mobility.
Ahhh it's all so difficult
My hamstring r soo tights
My back is stiff
My hips r tight
I'm only 21
RIP
@B0ss rip bro
@B0ss yep the new generation will suffer badly
would love to be able to sit down with my legs crossed. I have been stretching for increase flexibility to internally rotate legs to sit, however this has been challenging.
Keep at it!
me watching this on a chair like damn lol
Nicee
Im here for jumu’a lmao
The first position causes pain in my buttocks and upper hamstring
Look at the 3rd sitting position, he's got his legs crossed backwards!!
Why do my ankles start hurting after a while in indian position
For me it's like you went from hardest position to easiest lol
It's not the same for everyone. for me sitting crossed leged is super easy, the rest not so much.
Indian style can make your legs fall asleep but it is very good
Why is this so much harder then basketball practice?!
He is purty
I hate when my hip starts aching before I reach enlightenment 😅
Floor gang
Wow, your hair style 😍 Sorry not sorry.
floor gang

Your sick. But in a good way. Though I wanna tell meditation about thinking not about not thinking. Hence the name meditation= contemplating,)
So nobody is having the L position

Great content, sucky audio. It looks like the thing on your shirt might be a microphone but it must not be on.
*Watches Video In Chair*
