Interesting conversation. Appreciate it and that it was posted. I would love to see and hear a veterinarian talk about what they see and do, and what they can advise musher to do or not do with their dogs during a race. In this conversation topics came up like minor injuries to dog's feet that if not treated right can turn into something major. So, when and how is that diagnosed, treated, and is the dog allowed to continue racing in that race? I noticed that a new book came out on Amazon by an Iditarod vet that may have these answers. The whole world of mushing in Alaska is fascinating and I hope to learn more about it. I did not know just how much work went into setting the races up, so hats off to the officials and volunteers! This conversation was great, well done to all!
