I am disappointed with Alyssa's win because the show pushes so hard that American Drag is the best drag in the world, part of the broader "America is the best" idea that so many American exports push. Even if Kitty and Kween had been better received by the audience, they would have crowned Alyssa because the franchise elitism, while absolutely favouring English speaking queens, first and foremost favours American queens. Drag Race is an American show, the judges are American and at the end of the day, in a global competition, they HAD to show that America is number 1. I don't think crowning anyone else even crossed their minds. Also, the fact that the challenges are all in English, they all feature UK or American humour references, they actively make no effort to incorporate the international queens' culture into the challenges makes it even harder to compete as an international queen, unless you do the stereotype. I hated Global All Stars 1 but the cast was the best of any season, ever, and I want to see more international queens get this exposure. But something very fundamental has to change.
I think they did think a lot on who is going to win. Whover wins, gets a lot of attention to them and their respective franchise and since Kitty and Kween didn't have any fan support and they don't really care about the Italian franchise, Alyssa was the one they chose... so yeay more attention for the USA
You mean to tell me that the 3 out of the top 4 queens are all native English speakers? And that Global All Stars was won by a queen from USA? Colour me surprised, this is something nobody could have ever predicted...
I don’t condone sending them hate but these were not just arguments it got to the point where Nelly herself said she went to production because of it Alyssa got involved and they edited it all out so we are just seeing a fraction of what was going on and I’m not even a Nelly fan but we can’t just minimize it to oh it was just an argument especially when Kween gave a half ass apology but was still liking and reposting mean post about Nelly especially about the makeover episode
@@marcusmelancon3426 the thing is, we don't know what happened. What we SAW was arguments and the info that the queens shared in addition have contridictions in it
The only issue I had with the individual queens is when Kitty or Kween would see the favouritism and actually double down and say things like "oh yeah we deserved to win" or (talking to the other queens) "oh not quite as good as us". Maybe it's a joke but it seemed like their track records went straight to their head and they started to look down on the non-Ru franchise queens. But then again, that is more production's fault than theirs, and they were their to showcase their art and provide entertainment for us and that's what they did.
@@Bruce-yv9tm I am certain that some queens wrote Nelly off in the start because she's from a franchise with a bad reputation. And just assumed she wasn't a threat because of that. But I am only speculating
This season was a disappointment. They should have rotated that panel each week so it was stacked with English speaking / US judges. That crowning was a CHOICE. The real winners are the international queens who got to showcase their talents to a bigger global audience. Nehellenia stole our hearts! Tessa surprised me with her run this season. Kitty and Kween were awful. Their behaviour was gross. I went in rooting for my Aussie queen but after watching this, had to unfollow.
That ending was so disappointing. Alyssa just bobbed along this season. Why are they taking into account everything else she has done outside of this season when crowning? Weirdest criteria was used to crown their obvious favourite. I won’t be watching a next season if they make one. That crown was rightly Nehellenias.
@@Kamikaziiiii Crowning Alyssa was the best choice of for the brand (or so they thought). I have a little theory that they wanted to crown Kween to give the DU franchise a boost now that RuPaul left the show and Michelle took over
Such an accurate breakdown, good job. I don’t think they care but at least the fandom is now aware of the producers and Paramounts idea that we are stupid and will watch anything when the reality is we expected a level of drag on this show that outdid every season. Unfortunately we were given not just a chop of a season but it lacked all the seasoning.
Kitty should’ve gone home in the ball. But her Snatch Games was the funniest. Pythia should have won because Kitty shouldn’t have been there in the first place. But that win was “deserved”. Not because of the celebrity or invented character thing, those are resorces that can benefit the queen or maybe they don’t
@@ezemilionis7842 well Kitty was there and she did the best impersonation of a character that we all know. She was able to capture Diana, made her funny, stayed in character. Fictional characters and long dead people are a Cop-out.
I really want another season for global, it shows all the different drag races around the world and the unique queens, I love it, ( I wish Kween won though)

They were very good at making the audience hate 2 finalists so much that they feel kinda ok with Alyssa winning
