I have a love/hate for this film. The love is the story and idea that Simone is a virtual character, and how it encompasses what we are becoming to be. Great movie. The hate part of this movie are the dozens of holes in the story. **SPOILERS BELOW** From the get go, Victor said he's not good with computers, he just wants to make movies. Yet, he managed to setup a full computer workstation in an empty stage lot with custom user interfaces that was never seen developed prior to the hard drive given by Hank to Vic. Next, he had a magic "Live" key to setup feeds from his workstation to the studio's broadcasting unit. This would have taken time to setup, but I feel this would have been a team job that would be beyond Vic's comprehension of how to setup the components and interfaces needed for this to work. Third was the stadium scene. Again, setting up the number of connections and technologies needed to project Simone is a major feat and would take numerous resources and time. Lastly was the dialogue from Vic. When he tried coming out to his ex-wife, he was even more cryptic with his explanations than with his excuses why Simone can't be seen in person. Beating around the bush on his explanation up to the police scene where he actually said "Simulation One," and actually said she's a computer simulation. Versus the lack of explanation with his ex saying "I made her, she's a creation I made, she's one's and zero's, she doesn't exist." It's like GET TO IT! Show her the proof, if you can't say it, provide the visual aid of what you're saying.
